1. Missed opportunity adding some content (events, missions, scapes, whatever) that would otherwise hyped-up the damn movie. (besides a livery of a car already in the game)
2. No new high-paying event, which still keeps Kaz contradicting himself by having us grinding the same Tokyo event on and on and on.... #StepDownKaz
3. No new missions, only 4 new races which are no more than 1 hour worth of gameplay.
4. Forza Motorsport needs to be a great game to put some pressure on this Japanese. They are way to comfortable now.
Yeah i'm hoping the next update is much better, I only logged in just to purchase the Corvette and MC20, didn't even attempt the events as the payouts are not worth it.

I am quite disappointed in the effort PD is showing with the update, it's almost like they intentionally want to make the fans annoyed, what's the reason for locking 2 of the cars until the end of next month??? And why did we only get a livery for a car that's not only already in the game but a few livery creators probably already did as a 'tie in' to the movie??? I'll give them some slight slack for the GTR livery as the same car is featured prominently in the movie tbf but that's literally the bare minimum.

I can't be there. But can someone ask Kaz please:
Dear Kaz, GT7 has such great basics. But what spoils the game for so many players is:
  • lack of a proper career mode
GT games never had career modes, but older entries just had better structure and progression systems. That’s where GT7 falls short, not because it doesn’t impose a career mode.
  • a dearth of events
Agreed.
  • decent payouts for all but four races
Many events added in recent months actually do have pretty decent payouts (not all though), but PD has failed to balance the economy across the board, meaning that the “big four” stand out as the most lucrative events. What the economy needs is better balance, so those players grinding for credits get more incentives to experience variety.

You’re setting yourself up for extra disappointment with such hopes. Why would the next update suddenly be much better? We have witnessed nothing but crappy updates since the game was released, and this one was only slightly more crappy.

A really simple question for Kaz would be, will you have events that require higher license grades than are currently required?

Please provide in GT7:
  • a proper career mode
  • many more single player events
  • a decent payouts for all races, equivalent to what is now available for only four races (1.5 million credits per hour)

Okay, so less questions and more orders. Got it. At least you said "please" I guess.

How about: Hey Kaz, do you have any plans to implement any more repeatable 1h events?

In what way is it amazing that a movie studio has a production budget that is completely unrelated to a game developer’s product updates?
Because Sony's name is attached, nothing else really. I understand frustration, but these are the kind of uninformed responses that often overshadow actual legit criticism (Especially when the only "Energy" PD put in promoting the movie is a big banner, a time trial and a livery that can also be bought).

Understand that 2 of the cars are currently unavailable but how do I get to practice in the new Toyota? Did I need to have entered a limited time event to have this option. Can't see where I can do what's required to get the car gifted at the end of the month. Any step by step appreciated please 🙏

Sport Mode -> Toyota Gazoo Racing GT Cup R7 (the bottom half of the Sport Mode main page) -> Free Practice

Quite right, the movie has nothing to do with effort PD is putting into this game... considering they aren't the ones making the movie and, above all of that, they have been adding mediocre to outright garbage (or to not sound so mean, uneventful) updates 9 out of 10 times so this update really changes nothing.

It just continues to pile up evidence on how PD really doesn't care about the Gran Turismo playerbase.

I can't blame them for whatever cars they decide to add to the game, because let's be honest, it won't ever make everyone happy.
Even though... if they actually cared and did some research, even a darn basic google search, it would give them an idea of which cars are most sought after by the GT playerbase. But... ok... moving on...

Can anyone actually explain to me how adding the "Extra Menus" improves the replayability and "desire to play" of this game? How can any developer think of this idea and think it's a good gameplay feature is baffling. You have to live on another planet to even think like this, there's just no other way.

PD: "Hey, here's a few menus of X cars you have to collect, go get them... "

Playerbase: "How? Which challenges do we have to beat or require to progress to get them? Do we have some kind of challenging driving missions? Win a set of races or a championship?"

PD: "Just replay the damn races that you've played over and over again and buy them... And if you can't buy them because they aren't in the UCD/LCD, just wait until they appear, which could last several weeks depending on the LCD car needed to complete said Menu."

Playerbase: "Wow, what an amazing way to excite players to play the game!"
SAID NO ONE EVER!!!

God forbid if anyone says the 4 races you can complete in less than 1 hour for the whole damn month until the next update will give you any kind of motivation to play the game.

It can't possibly be so hard, to the point it takes over 1 whole year(and counting), to implement/code into the game a set of 8 driving missions or any type of engaging racing gameplay like racing in a championship format of a certain category/type/brand of cars.
Can it?

I would like to see them add some more Human Comedy missions. That area has been neglected for far too long. I don't see why they couldn't drop a few of these each update.
I completely disagree. I hope they never add those races to missions again. They should be with the rest of the races, actually replayable instead of a one-time reward.

For a moment I thought my game had botched a download. Good to know there are certain 'conditions' that need to be met to unlock some of these new cars.

I probably won’t play the game until Round 7 of the Toyota cup now - and even then I’m in two minds whether to bother as it’s such a ram-fest 😔

Uh speak for yourself. That's something I would say just not very loudly 😂. J/K the career structure is terrible and while I don't mind racing LeMans everyday it does get old sometimes. TBH there are quite a few tracks I don't ever race because the races there don't pay enough. GT7 has a lot of great tracks and cars but they give you reason to use them unfortunately.

The C1 Corvette sounds unusual for a V8 engine. Where’s the deep rumble?
I've never been inside one running but having been to many car shows out here in Michigan with them, they have more of a warbly sound. The later C1's had the more throaty V8 sound. Best video I could find but no interior camera.

Hard to find a video of the car that is stock, without the talking and isn't just a "Start up sound" but it doesn't seem far off this (0:00-0:16)

At this point, I don't even care about the payout anymore. What I do care about is the format of the bulk of the events being added:

  • Very short sprints
  • Mostly no tire/fuel strategy involved
  • Little car performance parity (no actual PP limit or more nuanced car limits outside of "American" or "Road Car" for instance)
  • No mechanical consequence to heavy contact or penalties for taking massive shortcuts off track (the CRB is not really an incentive when the payouts are so low anyway)

Why are we effectively still playing new tutorial events a year and a half after release?

i think it's something out there in amsterdam, that's my thinking right there

late september patch for a track shown there... only speculation

There's a Kaz Q&A after the movie screening. If you buy a ticket, you can ask whatever you like.
I suspect all questions will go through a screening process. Which is understandable in a public setting, but we could still hear something interesting.

I would hope outlets like GTP have earned enough trust to receive an in-depth interview to ask more pointed questions about the state of the game. It increasingly feels like PD are putting in a hell of a lot of effort to engage the eSports community. Including staging these costly GTWS events.

GT7 was hailed as a return to a traditional Gran Turismo but we aren't getting some of the basics the series was known for. Such as the aforementioned Endurance races, Championships, One-Make series, Missions etc. The kind of content any fan could compile with the custom race feature and additional tools PD has available. Heck, I could put together a series of monthly events that would have the community engaged for a full month. Without the need for any new cars or tracks.

It would be a win, win for PD. Which is why it's so strange they haven't gone down this route.

I am disappointed that the cars are not just available right away. I really do not like the used car / legend car menus. Please just put everything into one menu and available at all times. I am sure this is an unpopular opinion, but I don't like that some cars are only available to purchase for a limited time. It is rough with how grindy GT7 is.

But what is still missing in terms of career structure?
There are easy 3 lapa events, the bonus varies between 10 and 20. 30 M cr. even more difficult events, up to half an hour, 1 hour, that give 700, 800M, and 1 million cr.
The money (cr.) earned in these events can be used to buy cars and parts. You can play them all and in 4, 5 years you will have more than enough money for all the cars and parts.
It's intended by whoever developed the game.
Faster acquisition of all cars means repeating the events that give the most money, filling the car list, completing the game and moving on to another game. This was not the developer's intention.
I think so, an extra is needed, if a 500pp car races against 800pp cars (for example), also used in GTSport.

Money earning potential is no longer my biggest gripe, although you're correct to point out there is still a huge disparity with those "big four".

My issue is the lack of basic 500PP, 600PP, 700PP type events at each venue, and the restrictions in place. Often you have to use a car from that specific region, so I'm limited to JDM models for a number of the Tsukuba events, and Euro models if I want to race at Brands Hatch. It's an unnecessary limitation that reduces the potential for repeat runs. Then you have cool brand specific events like the Porsche Cup and Silvia Sisters, but they latter is limited to just two events. The same can be said for Missions, so many engaging events that would be great to replay with different cars. But if you put in an hour of intense driving, it would be nice to get some repeat credit award.

Yeah I would disagree.

The Used Car lot is a GT staple and the Legends dealer is a great addition.

What needs fixing is the economy.
