I apologize if I mis-remembered the time . . . but the invites had nothing to do with the 20m credit cars. if I recall correctly. I think there were like six eight or so I didn't have at the time. Granted, I don't have my game to look up when I got a given car, so I may be way off on that number.Nothing idiot about it - it's a bad system (as I've argued before, including in an article) and throwing pretty much "make 40m credits in the next month or miss out" at players barely a month in was not exactly ideal.
However, if I'm off base/missing the point, allow me to apologize in advance!
This is me. I collected all of "invitation" cars by the end of that time frame. Again, I apologize if I missed the point/am not recalling the time correctly. But, just on the pure facts of the situation, everyone playing over that month definitely had all the tickets available.
I have entered the same event but used the Chaparral 2J for a stress-free run. Dial the power back to fit into the 800pp limit, run map 6 until lap 8-9, pit for fuel and scream/laugh all the way to the finish. With a semi-decent drive one can lap the field.I think the event I did most of the grinding for that car was the WTC 800 Race at Sardegna. The car I used for the race? Porsche 917 Living Legend I got from preordering the game at launch.
(Edit to add the below)
Sophy at that level is not appealing/accessible to the overwhelming percentage of drivers. Remember, full on Sophy (Violet? Verde?) went undefeated against the best Gran Turismo drivers on the planet.@ruestchiva
Hopefully they will make Sophy as fast as it used to be in the first preview. I hate that she's just so lame in the current state.
And it wasn't even close.
The current Sophy can be raced against - and actually beaten - by a much wider swath of drivers. As a direct result, more people can have fun and experience Sophy without the need to throw a PS5 across the room
Just a thought or two . . .
