I would also say that, if they do have a VGT that is close to release at this point, I imagine they'd be quite likely to hold it slightly for a World Finals reveal before a December or January release. They like revealing VGTs at or around World Finals - the Lamborghini, Ferrari, Genesis and Bulgari are all recent examples.

Considering the Lightweight K-Cup has/will be (depending on your console's time zone) be this week's Special Event in the Weekly Challenges, the first World Circuits event to be such, I predict one of the previous Special Events series from the Weekly Challenges will be one of the new Menu Books and available full-time in the World Circuits (though not necessarily at any of the 3 tracks they had been at).

Question, although I'm not entirely sure this is the best thread for it or if it belongs in the whishlist one. But with the pattern of completing full generation models, what are the odds of a new RX7 being added to the game, specifically the Efini RX-7 or the Mazda RX-7 GT-Turbo only seen in GT2?

Mods feel free to move this post to whichever thread it may fit if it does not belong in here.

Seems like good reasoning to me, and I'd concur it seems more likely than at some point not given the multiple RX-7s in previous titles too.

It was six months ago this was announced:

If we still see six month car model turnarounds, could be time to see this in the game.

That's my reasoning, also it will give a little boost to the JDM cars from the '80s already in game if it were the GT-Turbo. Plus, it'll be good for another Extra Menu, the RX-7 family.

Time is an illusion. It was 32 months ago that Dai Yoshihara's Pikes Peak Tesla Model 3 was used in a GT7 trailer with a note stating the Model 3 was "to be provided in a future update". If the road-going Model 3 Performance added in Spec II counts to satisfy that claim, it took 20 months to fulfil, otherwise we're still waiting. As the Hyundai N cars mentioned are also PPIHC-adjacent, I'd say the model turnaround time is irrelevant for us; the cars will sit finished and ready for twice as many months as you'd expect, plus eight more, multiplied by an imaginary number while PD waits for "Pikes Peak Time".

Nenkai and the others that are active in the modding/data mine community are aware of the future update because it's typically in the current update file. They haven't really said anything anymore or feed into the speculation, aside from that guy who magically guessed the last three cars (and mentioned he leaked them because they were insignificant) lol

Nenkai has retired and the last guy who posted only knew them because we didn't keep our mouths shut about it in the public GT Discord!

The only thing I will say (as it has been said anyway) is that none of the cars are in the datamine list.

That was a promotion for GT7, while the Hyundai is a collaboration. We’ve seen collaborations announced and then six months later(and some sooner) a car is added from the announcement. Of course those of us without the data don’t know if any cars are coming. However, partnerships and collaborations seem to pan out in certain time frames.

As a side, it’s like when Kaz said Formula e would come to the franchise at some point. Still waiting.

I read you loud and clear.

Just for fun, here's another list of cars that matches the previous means with a very different flavour (as well as drawing from the datamine list, the GTP Suggestions forum, and a fill-in-the-gaps or two):

Bugatti EB110 - Road, Europe, UCD, New*
Ford GT90 - Road, USA, Legends, Returning
Mazda Roadster (ND) RF - Road, Asia, BC, New
Peugeot 208 T16 Pikes Peak - Race, Europe, BC, New

*Technically; the car was in GT3's files but not in the game
No way in hell the EB110 would be in the used car dealership. Other than that, lovely list 😚.

Very little chance it'll be in the update either

My rationale for the EB110 being in the UCD is that unlike most of the other equivalent cars (the F40 being one exception, but it was the F40), it was never intended as a limited production model - and the Lamborghini Diablo GT, which swings the other way, is a UCD car that was intended as a limited production model, with only 80 planned - and there's two variants of it. The SS was a higher-performance model, which relegates the GT to lesser status; the GT should be UCD, the SS in LCD.

Considering @Nebuc72 post stating none of the cars are in datamine, I will try to guess another time a 4 cars update based on Famine's one :

BMW M3 Competition xDrive '23 - Road, Europe, UCD, New
Corvette C5 Z06 '04 - Road, USA, Used, Returning (and fill the Corvette gap)
Toyota Prius '24 - Road, Asia, BC, New
Aston Martin Vantage GTE '18 - Race, Europe, BC, New

I Don't think that PD will give us more than the normal 3 cars, but I expect a big update will be released in the next few months:
Here is my prediction:
Cars:
  • AAR Eagle Indy '67
  • Toyota Prius '24
  • Bugatti EB110 '92 (since the CTR '87 is in the list, I think this is the closest thing to an 80s/90s Euro Sportscar)
Tracks: none
1 scapes, 1 extra menu, 3 new events

Updating due to the post stating the next update will not feature any datamined cars.

Mercedes-Benz CLK-GTR Strassenversion '97 <---- Historic/important to the brand and new + PD have worked with AMG before and this is a no brainer.
Nissan Z Nismo '24 <---- New and ties in with PD's Nissan partnership
Renault Espace F1 '94 <--- Seems to be hinted at.
Nissan R390 GT1 '98 <--- Even though it didn't win at Le Mans it's iconic to the GT brand in the same way the GT-ONE and Escudo are.

Tracks:
No new ones

Events:

Hypercar parade - 5 laps Spa 24 hours

Race of turbo sportscars - Tokyo Expressway 5 laps

Schwarzwald League - La Sarthe classic -2 Laps

Menu books:

Vanlife: Collect the Renault Espace F1, Toyota Hiace and Volkswagen Sambabus. 6*

90's GT1 Homologation: Mercedes-Benz CLK-GTR Strassenversion, Porsche 911 GT1 Strassenversion, McLaren F1
