Hmm, no datamine cars eh? That rules out the RX-7, Yellowbird and the Lancia I predicted. Oh well.

I'm leaning towards the Espace F1 too, there's been a lot of hype around lately just like there was lots of hype around the GT-ONE before that was added. Makes me wonder if someone knows something.

Either of the '98 R390 or 911 GT1 would be excellent choices. We're long overdue a classic racing car.

Perhaps another Volvo or Škoda? Neither of those two manufacturers have had another car added since they were first introduced to the game. Perhaps it's finally time for the Škoda 1100 OHC '57 to make it's racing game debut...

Since we are going with the theme of “not datamine cars”, I’ll go with these 6 as I feel that will be how many cars appear in the next content update:

  • Nissan R390 GT1 ‘98 (would complete the original Gran Turismo 3 holy trinity and being a popular race car in the series only emphasizes any reason for it to return).
  • Chevrolet Corvette Z06 (C5) ‘04 (would finally fill out the Corvette generations and as this was a premium in Gran Turismo 6, I feel it has a relatively strong chance of returning).
  • McLaren P1 ‘13 (would complete the original hypercar holy trinity and if the GTR variant can appear, then I think the chance of the road-going version appearing is a good one).
  • Pagani Zonda Cinque ‘09 (a bit left-field but I can see Pagani having another car added at some point and perhaps Polyphony Digital would like to keep the theme of mid/late 00’s supercars being added of which that’s why I could potentially see this one but I’m not entirely optimistic).
  • Mitsubishi Lancer Evolution VII ‘01 (2 things: yes I know Mitsubishi themselves don’t particularly like this car and yes, the Evo VIII was added in the previous update so would seem very unlikely to have back-to-back Evo’s and yet, Polyphony Digital may throw a curveball and this would be just that; and would be a generation filler).
  • Renault Espace F1 ‘94 (with all the recent speculation and how it would be 30 years old now, perhaps this could be the opportune time to add it in order to attract new players due to its quirkiness and madness behind it).

ekhm ekhm… sophy?
If sophy is on Suzuka then it was Sophy because if it’s available I always pick Sophy. If not, then it was their dumb dumb AI. I’ve had some pretty bad races against Sophy as well. Sometimes I wonder if people that praise Sophy have ever played any other racing game. It’s nothing to write home about in my opinion.

PREDICTION thread, not wishlist. What is your evidence that the next update is likely to include features that no GT game has ever had before?
All bets on Ambulance predictions.

So, I’m kind of there with four cars including the NB. ;)

Going by Famine’s post, it’s interesting to note from update 1.52 we got “two” Toyotas. Not just the HiAce, but the GR010 black livery colour selection was added. If this is to be an update to showcase Gran Turismo 7 and PS5P, maybe a Toyota will also be in the Update.
The Celica 1600 GT ‘70 from the datamine is the fourth and last Toyota on that list(Alphard, Celica WRC and GR010 are in the game).

Last November was a seven car update:
  • three USA(2 Dodge - 2018, 1968, 1 Tesla - 2023)
  • two Japan(1 Lexus - 2010, 1 NISMO - 1995)
  • two Europe(1 Mercedes-Benz - 1991, 1 Porsche - 2022)
November 2022 added four cars:
  • two Japan(Nissan - 1996, Red Bull 25th)
  • one Europe(BMW - 1989)
  • one USA/Europe(Ford - 1987)

From my prediction:
  • two Europe(Mercedes-Benz - 1991, BMW - 1975)
  • two Japan(ASL - 2008, Mazda - 1998)

I need to add a car from the USA. It would then be the GNX 1987 I was thinking earlier.

Amended, my prediction is:

  • 2002 tii ‘75
  • 500 E ‘91
  • NB Roadster ‘98
  • ARTA Garaiya ‘08
  • Buick GNX ‘87
  • Toyota Celica ‘70

All bets on Ambulance predictions.
So by that logic, a "prediction" that GT will do a crossover event with Ace Combat and feature fighter jets is just as valid?

Hmmm, one is really far fetched, the other has everything to do with GT7. Not all that logical to go to such extremes.

Since there are no data mined cars this month (apparently), I'm going on logic and faint rumors:

  • Nissan R390 GT1 (my endless, but plausible, doom pick)
  • Ferrari 296 GTB GT3 (I think will come before the street version)
  • Renault Espace F1 (rumored)
  • Tesla Cybertruck (it is a meme, but I think this will come)
  • Audi V8 Quattro (to complete the classic DTM set)

- Twin-Ring Motegi

I think at least one American car is likeliest, seeing how we didn’t get one in the last couple updates. I have faith that the C5 Corvette will come at some point, but I could also see the Dodge Viper raced by Team Oreca returning, and going into Gr.3. I could also see Cadillac returning, especially since the V-Series.R would be a great addition to Gr.1.

I could also see Pontiac and/or Plymouth getting a new car, respectively such as the ‘66 GTO and the Hemi ‘Cuda. For the latter brand, maybe even the Prowler could return as a Plymouth, rather how it was the Chrysler version in previous installments. Yeah, complete with a Hellcat swap!

EDIT: All this being said, now that we have the Evolution Meeting as a formal event, I bet we could see the Lancer Evolution VII coming, as well as the first two iterations. Maybe we’ll get the return of the “Stars of Pleiades” event in a similar fashion, especially since there appear to be numerous Impreza WRX STI models we don’t have yet. Speaking of which, now that we have an actual WRC machine from them - driven by McRae himself, at that - maybe we could get one of its Mitsubishi rivals from the same era!

Now it’s almost midnight in Tokyo, so we can probably rule out the infamous weekend silhouettes. It could be the first sign that we shouldn’t get too pumped up for new content on November 7th, but there’s still hope.

Seems that way. I’m surprised. A Monday announcement isn’t unprecedented.
Pretty sure there will be an update ahead of the PS5Pro launch.

I'd be really surprised if we didn't get it this Thursday - would be a big missed opportunity from them to not have a launch tie-in.
Missed opportunity for Sony perhaps, but I can see PD having an incentive to save their PS5 Pro update to coincide with the release of the MFGT trial, possibly later this month.

Best intentions and all that but stuff crops up in that dev/QA pipeline

Being honest I'd have thought the Anniversary console launch/deliveries would fit better with PD MO rather than upscaling GRX

I can see a limited edition version for Anniversary console owners, the press release "Sony and PD share nearly 30 years of gaming and to celebrate this we are giving players xxx cars and a whole new GT experience that is free to play"

That reads a lot better than "8k out put support (to the 100 people that have actual native 8k video hardware), more shininess and dazzle from the sun, loading times improved by .004"

Hmmm...

What is @Famine going to be doing on the 7th? No particular reason, just curious.

Nothing of any importance. 27th is the next time I'm out.

Mild cross-post from the Legends Cars Dealer thread.

The last update was a 305,000 combined car value. The average car update is ~805,000, and the last two times we had an update with the combined value under 1m the subsequent updates were 4.3m and 3.1m combined.

In fact only once was an update with a combined value under 1m not followed by a very expensive one:

1.13 - 500k; 1.15 - 4,300k
1.26 - 342k; 1.27 - 4,555k
1.34 - 865k; 1.35 - 4,147k
1.38 - 490k; 1.40 - 700k
1.40 - 700k; 1.42 - 4,333k
1.43 - 192k; 1.44 - 3,100k
1.52 - 305k; 1.?? - ???

So I'd be prepping for a 4m+ spend.

I was jokingly thinking that as well, only from the last update being a small spend. Figured the next update would hit players in their virtual pockets for the next one.
Since I failed with my early predictions, if I went with my other thoughts of the AAR Eagle(next in line of GT Awards cars) or 512 S and/or with the Super GT 500 cars, plus any other cars, it seems like what PD would do.

I predict the update is coming on Thursday 14th. That would be around 1 month before the December's one (last year came on 14th December, so 12th or 19th this year), 1 week after the PS5 Pro release, and last day of Viper's Time trial (probably one car of the update will replace as the next time trial...)
