I hadn't actually read this thread in a while, I didn't realise it was confirmed the cars were outside of the datamine.

That does make me think at least one contemporary race car is going to feature, as those have good reason to not be in a 2022 datamine and we are rather overdue one.

Given that line of thinking, a new GT500 set, or a an updated Ferrari GT3 so they don't have to broadcast a 458 at the world finals are logical choices. But the Brown/Broadbent M4 GT4 is the car that sets off my internal "this is what they'd probably prioritise" alarm. It's a GT4 car entered into a series sponsored by GT, driven by their most popular streamer and their commentator. That's marketing gold, and frankly most other games would probably already have it in and be overdoing the social media tie-ins for it.

When I initially booted up this morning, this bit of info popped up:

So, I went to the Toyota Museum next bit of info is this:

If there’s talk of completing lineage, this is one to get closer to completing the Supra model. It’s a Toyota. It’s a returning car. It definitely adds to the Group A of it all. Plus, it straddles both Celica and Supra branches.

I'd like to think the Nations Cup race around Spa would be where that fits in but the Sports Softs being used and brake balance being on makes me think of 4 things:

  • It can be a cup car like the 992 GT3 Cup or a new Gr.4 car that can handle Sport Softs
  • Retro open wheeler car (e.g AAR Eagle) because the Eiger Nordwand Nations Cup race featuring the Honda RA272 with Comfort Softs set a precedent
  • Track monster or a hypercar that has brake balance and has Sport Softs on
  • Retro race car that can handle Sport Softs and has brake balance on.
Not going count out a road car being used but that's unless it has brake balance installed.

It's kinda been a trend that Sophy is added to a fantasy and real track so I'm feeling like Monza and Trial Mountain are next. They seem to be prioritizing the more popular tracks among players.

That's all I have lol

I kinda smell a perfume of a Spec 3.0 this time with: new endurances, B-Spec, new track, more events, Sophy support on more tracks, swaps, scapes and cars

I really hope Sophy will get free out of Arcade Mode shackles, at least for Custom race. I think this could be possible, last time when they introduced Sophy 2.0 they mamaged to add a lot of features at the same time with 20 cars support.

I think 992 GT3 Cup is a fundamental piece of motorsports still missing from the game, AND it really should be gr.4. It is the definition of gr.4 - basically a street car factory build for track. It also would be a very popular choise for one-make online racing.

well when we got a Cayman gt4 it would be weird to have a 911 cup car there but imho it should be a one make car as it is irl aka in no group

911 cup would be such an easy addition to gr.4 it would be waste of a perfectly good car in dailies to not put it in gr.4. It could also be very differently balanced in bop vs the cayman.

Then again PD has a history of wasteful additions. P1 GTR not being gr.1 for one. Yes its not a prototype or GT500, but looking at all the vgt gr.1, that shouldn't be an argument.

but that 992 Cup is faster than Gr.4 and closer to Gr.3 thats a problem , if anything i would rather have a proper racing 992 GT3 in Gr.3

also P1 GTR not being in the Gr.1 - reason because there is Gr.1 VGT instead , while could have been cool but eh

Errr, you sure you don't mean GR.2? Pretty sure that's where you can find the GT500s alongside prototypes.

The P1 GTR is far too slow to keep up with the Gr.1 cars due to them being able to corner far better and same thing with Gr.2 .

The P1 GTR, FXXK and Zonda R are all faster than Gr.3 but not faster than Gr.2 cars, atleast not in real life.

The Red Pig uses Sports tyres. Maybe another vintage touring car.

Just like the Renault RS01. Only thing is, PD placed the One Make Renault Trophy in Gr.4. Long discussion back in GT Sport about how it should have been in Gr.3 or a Gr.X car.

The P1 GTR in GR1 would be a joke it doesn't belong in that class.

In real life the P1 GTR would lose to a GT3 car depending on the track.

This guy on YouTube that drives all types of cars from GT3 to FXX-K to P1 GTR reply to a question I asked him on YouTube and he said that the FXX-K and P1 GTR would lose to GT3 cars.

Edit - If anyone is interested in the YouTube channel is called Alexander West and he uploads laps of all his cars from race cars to hypercars.

Well the RS01 was actual GT3 car and One Make Renault Megane Trophy i doubt that it was faster than Gr.3 so fits the Gr.4 imho

There are two of the RS01. One is GT3 and the other is the One Make.
I’m saying a Porsche 911 GT race car should be separate like they are in GT3 and Carrera Cup, rather than placing it in Gr.4. Though there were older 911s in the GT4 Belgium Series(GT4 European Series) before and at the debut of the first Cayman GT4.

The Trophy has lap times that rival GT3 cars. That was the debate about why some felt it should have been in Gr.3.

Race Room already has it :) Would be nice to have it in GT7 too though, at least the updated BMW model, but that goes for most gt4/gr4 and gt3/gr3 cars in the game which are very much out of date and in dire need for a refresh especially since they’re broadcasting these events, it looks a bit silly they’re still using car models that are so outdated, I guess manufacturers don’t care enough either to give PD access (and licensing) to newer models, or maybe they do but they don’t agree on licensing fees etc… older models are maybe cheaper to license?

992 Cup car yes that should be separate 👍

I really doubt that Megane Trophy cup car '11 can rival modern day GT3 cars also
  • In real life, the car is placed on classes equivalent to GT4 class in championships such as Britcar (Class 2), International GT Open (GT Lights class) and Euro Series by Nova when not used as a one-make racer, which justifies the car's placement in Gr.4 class

When will we hear about the new update? In theory, the last race of the Nations does not have a car or track assigned, so we should have an update before the end of the month, although Kaz does not usually update in the middle of the month.

Nations cup is on the 23th if I remember, so Update on 21th and silhouette on 16th or 17th?

Once again I am predicting the long awaiting inclusion of the famed Daihatsu Midget II '98. With each time I predict it becomes more likely to happen. Infact that's not true as if two cars are announced in the real world or they make a new Vision GT the chances actually get lower... Crap.

I don’t really care what cars come with this update anymore as long as they take a swing at the physics/ffb. Since 1.49 my preferred set up has caused wicked oscillations on the dd extreme. While i’ve adjusted them to control it. The solutions not great and when it comes to gr1/2 its pretty ineffective. Which was fine..until they decided to return these cars to the tt/daily schedule on a more regular basis. Now, going to the big straights on la sarthe(jiggle ride only occurs on straights(funky unbridaled rebounding imo)) is like trying to surf a washing machine with a busted spin cycle.

Its getting really annoying that pd keeps abusing my ddX. July into November, and it still feels like a game of poke and hope…without any sense of urgency from them. But I guess they have and have had a monopoly for a while and we get what we get. 🤷‍♂️

So, looks like last Thursday of the month will be when the next update will land. Don't know why, but it's starting to feel like PD is winding down it's updates. Perhaps by early next year GT7 will be done? 🤷

People have been saying this since early last year, man.

All I can say is don't ever expect any rhyme or reason to the timing or contents of PD's updates. It's a waste of time, really.
