I didn’t see anything about fixing the multiplayer lobbies….. The lack of options and having to restart your lobby after almost every race is embarrassing for a first party AAA title from Sony. I don’t care much about the boring chase the rabbit events, but it’s cool they raised the rewards and added some more things to do. I just wish they would fix the things we have already in the game that are broken instead of adding content.

Looks like it.

Absolutely nonsensical to add these races with enormous payouts while only marginally increasing others, and also completely contrary to Kaz's statement about not wanting people to repeat races ad nauseum... But hey, it's a huge step in the right direction
My surprise is that we're still making less "grinding" than we did pre 1.07. I assumed we'd get back to to the ~1.8/hr we had at least and closer to 2m/hr.

Today’s update was clearly a content update, but it was a low effort content update. What was scheduled, or not scheduled, by their roadmap doesn’t really change this. Non-issue if the game had been packed with events since day one, but fact is the game offers fewer things to do than GT Sport does, and PD doesn’t seem to mind this at all. That’s problematic.
It's the fact that they did actually add only three that gets me. Add none, people are frustrated but understand they'll come later. Add a whole bunch of them, great.

But three? Why even bother? Do a proper job or not at all.

Lol, 3!? That's not a whole lot, shouldn't they have added more, unless they split it up in several updates. Guess we'll see what PD has in store for us, sigh.

Again, all absolutely fine and really preaching to the choir again, but really you're just jumping away from the point in a near escape velocity attempt to distance yourself from it.

Yes, the game still doesn't have enough stuff to do, but you are experiencing an actual physical reaction in disappointment because, even though PD actually did deliver not only exactly what it said it would but further stuff it didn't say it would add, you believed for some reason that it would add 300% more of the stuff it didn't say it would add than it actually added when it said it would add 0% of it.

Expecting stuff that's not promised and being physically reactive in disappointment to not enough of it being added is... kinda weird. Like, concerningly, please-get-yourself-to-some-kind-of-counselling weird

Update 1.12 adds 10 new events
GT planet members: “why 10 and not 15?! PD suck!”
No, 10 events with multiple races per event would be a solid addition. That's maybe 30 races total. That would be enough to last someone a good few hours or days depending how often they play.

This is not even three events, it's three individual races. I just don't get why they even bothered.

I don't want to build hype, but perhaps they deliberately delayed adding more events at launch and didn't add more now because they have a new track(s) launching and want to include it? I mean, this really only matters for championships, which I would love for them to add more of but there is no sign they will. With how the world circuit navigation works they can add events from different classes at any time to any track, old or new... still, it could be a point.

Personally I want to see more mid-tier races added. Happy to see the new the WTC600 event added and 700 too. 800 is more of a challenge that I only enjoy completing once and not something I need to put myself through over and over.

Well, yes, because they have a lot of past content locked away. "Adding" content means actual new content, not content new to this game.

What happened to B-spec from GT5? What happened to being able to having your team of drivers compete in the 24hr of Lemans?

This uproar all comes from a shift in focus from playing the game and being "The Real Driving Simulator" to car collection in an overt attempt to grab more money for rare/collectable cars. I never wanted to play "The Real Collecting Simulator".

Kaz may have had too many trips to Goodwood.

I didn’t expect any content today. What we got surprised me, but it surprised me even more that we didn’t get more when we actually got something, hence my jaw falling off.

Also because it gives me a feeling that this might be an indicator of what we can expect going forward as far as World Circuits is concerned. I hope not and that the “planned” content update delivers those additional 300%.

Mission 30 lap 5000cr... always a joke.

At what point are the people who are upset going to stop pretending like there's some set of circumstances that will ever satisfy them?

Some people are acting like there's a magic number of events or cars added, or specific payout amounts, that will turn everything around and make them happy.
Why can't they just accept the changes? It's discouraging me from getting gt7 soon cause of all this drama about the money/championship races.

Sure there is, the magic number is at least the same amount of events/things to do as GT4, a game released 18 years ago. That's the minimum benchmark. We're still a way off.

Well no, actually the bare minimum before that is at least having events that cater to most of the cars already in the game. We still have no pre-defined Gr.1 events, nor any for a whole bunch of car groups like 50s racers, modern LMPs, Super Formula, there isn't even a GT500 event, that was a GT staple.

I don't really think that is too much to ask for at minimum, is it? Equal to a game 18 years ago and content created for all the cars in the game?

I consider these 3 a bonus, since there was no announcement that new races would be added.

  • 24 Hours Le Mans: really great! We needed more races here!
  • Sardegna Road A: a bit of odd choice but sure I’ll take it!
  • Tokyo Expressway: what-the-🤬??? Why on earth was this not added to Kyoto combined? We desperately need a proper race there!

That’s because they didn’t. While the adjustments to the game economy are certainly welcome - thanks Kaz and thanks PD - the multiplayer lobbies are indeed a huge letdown from GT Sport. The updated Known Issues memo only contains some peripheral lobby issues. There is absolutely nothing in the KI about the core operational deficiencies affecting multiplayer.

Sure I get seeing it that way, I just hope it's not a sign of things to come and they continue drip feeding them at such a rate. Hopefully the next updates are far more meaty or it's going to take forever to properly flesh them out.

True but the stage of creating the event coding from cars to the fancy graphics to from the PS2 era is a lot quicker than that of PS4/5. If the game had delayed again from March 2022 to say December 2022 with events that “catered to most cars” as you are hoping, then there would still be complaints about the game taking too long. It always seems to be a case of ”I want it all and I want it now” which in this day and age is beyond reality. Yes, we would want that but wants don’t necessarily translate to getting it. Let’s see what the “few additional patches“ of April provide to us players.

I have sincere doubts that even in the unlikely event that PD faithfully recreates the content available in GT4 people in your position would go "grand, I'm happy now".

If nothing else there'll be the fallback complaint that PD didn't add this theoretical content fast enough or in the correct order.

I'm speculating here.

I'm just waiting for someone to have already completed all the endurance races in the next hours and post which cars we get for completing them all gold/bronze.

I would be really mind-blown if they secretly added a new car in today's update and no one knows it until they get all gold in the 1-hour endurance races.

Events don't take any longer to create than they did for PS2. Well, maybe a fraction longer if they handpick the opponent car but we're still talking about mere minutes. There is nothing special going on, everything else is already made, it's just a set of parameters. There is no coding, there is nothing new to create.

Go and create an event now with the event creator, how long did it take you? 5 minutes? Now do that for all the events that are missing, I reckon you could have them all done in a single day. Maybe a weekend. One person doing that, another one making the graphics. It's really one of the least time consuming parts of making these games. Far more time would have gone into making the overall structure of the cafe mode, because that requires far more planning. But we're just talking about extra events here, nothing else.

Modelling cars and tracks, that does take a long time. Making events does not.

Well you're obviously free to think what you want, I'm just telling you what personally would satisfy me in regards to events. To be clear I'm not saying to exactly recreate the GT4 events, I'm just saying to create a similar amount of content, 150-250 hours worth.

If you think people will still complain, well as I say, can't stop you thinking that.

Again, super weird.

What additional 300%? Again, PD didn't promise 10, or 3, or indeed any. It didn't say any were coming at all, but three did, but you were apparently thinking it should be ten.

We also don't know how many will be coming in the updates PD said they will be coming in, but if adding events in updates when it didn't say it would add any makes you pessimistic about how many it will add in updates where there are events planned, that's also super weird.

Seriously? It’s not like I’m about to jump off a bridge.
Yeah, and that's kinda the point of getting counselling - to stop people from reaching the point where that's even a consideration.
