Gran Turismo 7 Update Coming April 7

Sure I get seeing it that way, I just hope it's not a sign of things to come and they continue drip feeding them at such a rate. Hopefully the next updates are far more meaty or it's going to take forever to properly flesh them out.
Fully agree! Before the end of April we should also get another update that should include new cars and new circuit layouts (I assume of existing locations). I suppose we get some new races or events to go with that as well.

I believe at some earlier news posts Kaz also mentioned we would get some new events for lower power cars, that is something I would really love to see. The new missions already have some interesting 1 hour insurance races (kei cars, classic cars, etc) but I hope we will get more of that stuff. Boxer engine events races, classic Le Mans race car events, more restrictions on year/country/drivetrain/power etc.

One of the cars I got today was that Toyota Sport 800, it’s a really low power car, but give us some events to use it! For example I’d love to see a 300 PP limit vintage race or something, where these cars could be used at.

Anyway today’s patch is already good stuff. Had i only known that the rewards for these circuit experiences were retro active …. 🙄 I deliberately didn’t play them since I thought I would miss out on the rewards… 😒

At what point are the people who are upset going to stop pretending like there's some set of circumstances that will ever satisfy them?

Some people are acting like there's a magic number of events or cars added, or specific payout amounts, that will turn everything around and make them happy.
Likely when GT7 evolves to the point where it can be considered a worthy successor to GT Sport. Keep in mind that GT7 was supposed to represent the best of the franchise spanning 25 years. So far the game has felt like the most controversial in 25 years, and that says quite something when the predecessor was first and foremost an e-sports title no one had asked for.

No, 10 events with multiple races per event would be a solid addition. That's maybe 30 races total. That would be enough to last someone a good few hours or days depending how often they play.

This is not even three events, it's three individual races. I just don't get why they even bothered.
Are you ignoring the 8 1h events?

There’s a few camps
1. People who will never be satisfied and continue to find something they don’t like.

2. People who want the game to be exactly like the old games.

3. People with legitimate issues and are pretty reasonable with suggestions and thought on issues.

4. People who understand and have accepted that the game is now a live service and will continually be updated for years.

1 and 2 will never be satisfied. 3. Will eventually be happy. And 4. For the most part will enjoy the game for what it is going for today.

I haven’t experienced the changes firsthand, but this all sounds good to me! Another great step in the right direction as far as I’m concerned. I can’t wait to dig in later today.

I'm in second category even if "exactly" is a bit strong.
I still think the singleplayer experience should be rebuilt from scratch and that's not going to happen.
It is what it is...

I'm very satisfied. This update is a step in the right direction. Circuit Experience finally pays off! There are more cars at the dealer and cool missions. A 30-minutes race at Le Mans is now the best way to earn some credits. I think this patch was needed.

I have to be honest, I'm particularly satisfied with this so far. Now, my only issue is the physics itself and I can work through that.

I'm not seeing the three new World Circuit races though. Is it because I haven't finished the final event yet?

EDIT: Looks like that is the case. Saw a similar question as I hit "Post Reply". :P

Not sure why there is some complaints on this update seems alot easier to earn some big coin quickly or even 1mill per hour on the new mission endurance races or 1.2 mill give or take on the circuit experience (about 48mill if you had already done circuit races just from going into a race and exiting it) i think 1-2mill a hour is a good rate, pity some of the 10 lap races didn't get a bigger pay out but at least PD has gone a step in the right direction this update not 5 steps backwards like the last update was. Have some fun and drive the cars you like on the tracks you like and if you have enough credits grab the legend cars its alot easier to get alotta cars now ya just got to tune them to win the new mission endurance races. I would rather spend a few hours to get golds on the circuit experience races than do 20 laps a hour on fishermans ranch for a few less coins. the only issue i have now is its harder to do the golds on remote play on my pc is easily 1-3 seconds difference a lap from remote play on pc than playing the same races on the ps5 ill just have to sweat it out in the kids bedrooms on the ps5 than sitting under the aircon playing remote play on my pc.

Earned just shy of 3 million this morning doing circuit experience (Spa, Northern Isle, Blue Moon, Dragon Trail). The question is, will I make another 17 million before that gorgeous Alfa leaves the dealership? I NEED IT!!

Again, super weird.
The game launching with so few events is super weird, and remains so when only three get added in an attempt to rectify situation. It happening unexpectedly is irrelevant.
What additional 300%? Again, PD didn't promise 10, or 3, or indeed any. It didn't say any were coming at all, but three did, but you were apparently thinking it should be ten.
The 300% you mentioned yourself. What PD promised for early April doesn’t influence my viewpoint on what I’d consider a sufficient content update.
We also don't know how many will be coming in the updates PD said they will be coming in, but if adding events in updates when it didn't say it would add any makes you pessimistic about how many it will add in updates where there are events planned, that's also super weird.
Did the update fuel you with optimism for what’s coming in the planned content updates?
Yeah, and that's kinda the point of getting counselling - to stop people from reaching the point where that's even a consideration.
Sure, but we are discussing a video game.

Pretty much. 1 and 2 are in denial of what video games are and can be these days. Long gone are the days of PS1, PS2 etc. I'm sure things are far more expensive and complicated than they used to be. Technologically and business wise. And there isn't FortNite levels of popularity here. They don't have near limitless sums of money to put back into the game. They built the game within a budget, they are watching how it sells and are evaluating the budget going forward. It's a business.

Whether a person likes it or not, it is almost certainly the best Polyphony could do in these circumstances. Sony asking or requiring them to release it for PS4 (in the middle of it's PS5 development) is far more likely to have stunted the growth of this game than any lazyness or cash grab.

I count myself in the 3 and 4 range. There are a couple small things that need tweaking. And I'm not a fan of live service games but it's just the way it is and me whining about it on the internet isn't going to change things. I learned to adjust my expectations for video games a long time ago, you know, as you grow up and play games or anything else in life and understand that things change. Like new cars. They all kinda suck IMO compared to older stuff. And people older than me felt the same way when the cars I like came around.

GT7 is overall pretty great and a good foundation for the next couple years of updates. It's also most definitely better than Sport. I think some people fail to remember that Sport had like.. almost zero single player content when it came out.

It's necessary because they can leave out something if those are already considered done well/good enough, which is to be expected if it's company like PD. You think economy update solves everything? It's also them pulling slimy business tactics, nudging people towards microtransactions before with all the design choice sbefore, but now are undoing the slime and trying to be the "good guys" in the process. The fixes won't undo the profit they've gained before or the time players spent with but to make disastrous launch then pull it back is purposely done to reap profit first and keep it in and nickel and dime everyone so there are no redeeming.
2. People who want the game to be exactly like the old games.
Of which in reality the problems in old games, the franchise in general are swept under the rug. And only recycling old stuff constantly like that is terrible anyway, and it's PD, not to mention about the terrible traits the franchise actually have.

How do I redeem credits for getting gold in any circuit experience I have already done? Is it automatically applied after update or do I need to redo each one I already got gold in?

Here's a nice kick in the junk. I completed all gold for Daytona circuit experience got like 50k. Just checked the update and the payout now is 800k. It's really disappointing for all the ones I've completed but at least they made the payout worth doing the tracks again.

Not all race got an increase but I have seen a few that I like to run have had decent increases.
Go into the ones you’ve done. Back out. You get the reward.

So, you're camp 1 then?

All these unfaithful kids not giving PD a chance and requesting refunds, can't keep a relationship for 6 months, this is why the marriage rate is going down and nobody is having kids anymore. Keep the faith people, jeez.

Update 1.12 adds 10 new events
GT planet members: “why 10 and not 15?! PD suck!”
Nothing wrong with pushing them to do more and more better (too much of a stretch for 'better', not even on minimum mark yet).
So, you're camp 1 then?
Why PD has to be absolved from this update? There's no redeeming as the disastrous period had happened and it wouldn't change no matter how many updates they add.
I have sincere doubts that even in the unlikely event that PD faithfully recreates the content available in GT4 people in your position would go "grand, I'm happy now".

If nothing else there'll be the fallback complaint that PD didn't add this theoretical content fast enough or in the correct order.

I'm speculating here.
If there are room of improvements, which'd always be there, then so be it to improve the sorry state of the game/franchise.

Nothing has changed in that regard. They sold GT7 as a full price game just the same as they sold GT1-6 as a full price game. The only difference is GT1-6 (well, at least 1-4) were a full game on launch, then we got to the internet era of gaming and PD realised they could ship a portion of the game and then keep adding to it over time.

Nobody is in denial. They wanted and expected what we were sold on. We don't have it, yet.
