Will the GT movie able to beat my childhood movie.

Jackie Chan is the Real OG!!

I just wish they didnt show the entire movie in one of the latest trailers. Makes me want to wait another year to cleanse my memory of it

If you know the Jann story, you know the story.

One guy said "it's a predictable underdog story". Like... dude... no.

Saw the movie last night at regal MM yeah some that also saw it (on line remarks) did not like it. But any movie that has the audience teary eyed during some spots. And cheering and clapping in the end is a winner in my book.

All 4 of us give it a big thumbs up. Similar to Ford vs Ferrari but very different as well. FvF diverted from the real story just as much as Grand Turismo does.
But FvF happened over 50 years ago. Grand Turismo almost happened yesterday.

I thought it was going to be more like the Last Star Fighter, a lot more fantasy in other words. Grand Turismo is not that at all.

Go see it your self and decide. A hallmark of a good movie is does it create an emotional response from the audience. Well it had me cheering out loud and my 25 year old daughter squeezing my hand during the tense scenes.

Edit: Saw FvF twice I very rarely see movies 2 times. Wish I saw it in IMAX! We are already planning to see Grand Turismo in IMAX!

This just appeared on the PlayStation App here in the UK - I’ve booked to see it already at the BFI IMAX in London on the Friday release night so sadly won’t be able to do the pre screening but worth going if you can! -

I've seen quite mixed early reviews and opinions on this. Ignoring shills and the extremes, "it's better than everything else like it" or "it's the worstest movie evar", theres a consensus that it's an ok movie from what I've read. But the trailers did nothing for me so I'll watch it when it's available on streaming, probably. Maybe.

I've also read that the main actor is a bit flat but David Harbour is great. If I see this and like it more than Ford v Ferrari, I'll eat my (invisible) hat. I'd be very surprised, but I'm really into movies so it'd be a good surprise.

Take it as a lesson learned. The only time I watch a trailer is sometimes after I’ve watched a film, to see which scenes they select and how they edit all of it. Kinda entertaining and revealing to watch them afterwards. Obviously they almost always include climaxes and very particular scenes, just usually quite skillfully edited and chopped up to the moon and back. That said, some images will stick with you anyway. Regardless of genre, inevitably highlights will be there.

Unless you have a screen at home 80” or larger you will be very disappointed not seeing it in the theater.

Archie Madekwe, I thought is any thing but flat.

I never watch trailers of films I know I will see. Gran Turismo I was genuinely on the fence about, so I wanted to see how it would turn out, rather than a montage of each section of the movie

The entire story?

They showed that he won the GT Academy, which is the premise and the inciting incident for the main character. Clearly, that's the first third of the movie with the actual arc being how far he goes in real-life racing. Depending on which races they focus on, that can practically be any finishing position in the final race by the end of the film.

The story is also about racing. Can you name one racing movie where someone didn't win or lose by the end of it? Racing is predictable, but not this movie. Most of us who know Jann's story aren't even 100% sure how this film will end.

I wasn’t totally convinced they hit 200 MPH for some footage mostly the onboard stuff because it kinda looks slow. But Sony Cine replied and said they definitely did. Well alright then. 🙌

From which part of the trailer? We used quite a few tracks and private roads to piece Le Mans together.

I thought Dunsfold at first, because they've been used as an airport location in a few things recently (RED 2, Secret Invasion), but I also thought it could be Gaydon. There's... some CGI going on there though
