While a fair argument and far from the first time, the fact that Sony (The one that owns both their own Motion Picture studios AND the Playstation brand) so badly wants THIS of all their big IPs made into a Movie just absolutely reeks of it. At least the others could have that stink lessened by just sticking to the already established source material (same goes for Comic books or novels) and if both the script and casting is good, it feels less lazy and comes more off like there was actual care. Sure its still about profit, but it at least feels less like some exec just wants more money.
Sony is going all out,Last of Us,Twisted Metal,Ghost of Tsushima and God of War are all in production.
They and other studios want to find the next big thingnafter Sulerheroes and they think videogames are next

According to the picture below GT is 7' 1'' and that's 175cm.

I don't think I should trust this source :dopey:

I think they're both around the 5'10'' mark as they both seemed shorter than the 6' and a bit I was back when I could stand up near them. SVG was definitely taller than me though.
I was remembering the roll hoop talk and Tander and Percat grouped as the taller drivers next to SVG. I'm 6' and I stood next to Murphy and Frosty. They weren't short. But I guess over 5'9" is tall for a race driver.
As a side, Paul Morris is my height.

7'1" but 120-Lbs???? My wife is 5'1" and busts her ass to stay at 120-Lbs.

I think Last of Us, Ghost of Tsushima, and God of War are redundant because the games are so heavy in story telling.

What might excite me most is the Horizon show because rather than try to tell the same story of the games, it will add to the lore by taking place much earlier in a time not discussed much in the games.

What a strange IP to use for a movie. I'd rather watch a 2 hour show about Jay Leno's garage than any silly movie idea they come up with for Gran Turismo. I'd rather they try to make a movie out of Lawn Mowing Simulator

this guy played in stranger things? I dont recognize him and google isnt helping either.
... he's the Hawkins police chief Jim Hopper. Like I wrote.
He’s played local police chief Jim Hopper through all four seasons of Netflix’s Stranger Things, took the title role in the reboot Hellboy movie, and was Alexei Shostakov (or Red Guardian) in the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Black Widow film.

Also says he's 42 but was born 31st March 1977... That'd be 45. Someone wasn't paying attention in class.

There’s more to the world of cinema than comic book and fantasy novel adaptations. Personally I have no interest in either of those genres. We have no idea what tone this movie is going for. It could be bubblegum entertainment like Days of Thunder. A straight adaptation such as Ford vs Ferrari. Or something that’s highly stylised like Drive. Given the director & cast I’m assuming it’s going for a more stylish look & feel.

BTW, Asad Qizilbash is one of the people to follow for all PlayStation Studios related content. He also has a strong history with Gran Turismo.

Yeah it would be hilarious if they recreate one of the iconic tracks « in real life » using CGI or practical effect for a live scene in the movie … 🤣

It's gotta be better than that Stallone open wheel movie. Driven, I think it was called?

If it has some really cool racing scenes, it might be pretty good. I doubt people had high expectations for Arcane or Castlevania. But basing it on a real story is kind of odd. I hope it's just loosely based on a true story, and I don't use the term loosely.

A few posts I actually considered this film is going to flop but now with Orlando bloom I really think they have a chance in making a good film.

Just got word from Sony.
Apparently they're gonna be casting RynoGT4 as the pink Vitz, BK4 as the Yellow Evo V and that "one guy with the beard" as the Escudo. (And yes, they're gonna talk and have faces like Cars.)
I have 100% faith in these claims.
