Ah I loved that gravel shot! The track was very challenging and fun, absolutely no room for mistakes or end up eating more gravel. I struggled a little on my first few laps given my very first time trying out that circuit.

The 280Z's handling was pretty balanced too, makes it a suitable car to run about. I also did have my struggles keeping up with the 350Z especially in my weaker circuits.

Thanks for this week's hosting. I've got to review 2 weeks' worth of race photos and publish them in albums, following the previous mishap that didn't looked nice.

I was doing okay for myself early on in Round 5, but I eventually kissed gravel. Pretty much ruined my race.

Just a heads-up for next week. The event, as I mentioned in the chat, is American Classics (1960-1979). It won’t be limited to a specific category, but there will be power/weight restrictions. The races will also be longer than usual. I’ll update the master post tomorrow and tag everyone from today’s races.

Sidetrack a little: I ended up doing this after the race. Never seen a proper flying F1 car.

Saturday's American Classics (1960-1979) specs are up. I still need to add a photo for the marquee, but if anyone has one they'd like to share, I'll post it and give credit. Also, please look over the power and weight restrictions and let me know if this seems suitable. There isn't a category limit, so Gr.X cars like the Shelby Cobra Daytona Coupe '64 and Ford Mark IV Race Car '67 can be used. They just need to fit the power/weight restrictions. Most of these cars use sports tires, but I don't know how well the Gr.X ones would fare with a tire demotion. I can test out the Daytona Coupe, but will need someone to try out the restrictions with the Ford Race Car since I don't own that one.

Call-outs for the sign-up sheet: @LineR32 @Pigems @Fudman420 @GTP_Guido @TurboTacho

I was thinking of using the Camaro but the GT40 will probably thrash everything else if it meets the regs.

Yeah, the GT40 should meet the regulations. If some of the heavier cars could get greater weight reduction, it might not be so bad, but I imagine the GT40 will slay most of the competition. I'm thinking of the Racing Modified '69 Camaro from GT5/GT6 and how it would probably do well in this type of event.

Another option is to increase the minimum weight requirement.

I've been wanting to try a Formula 1 series featuring the F1500T-A and Mercedes AMG F1 W08 EQ Power+ '17 with set power/weight values. Perhaps sometime next month. Is this something that would interest anyone in the group?

A few changes to Saturday's event:

1. Gr.X race cars removed from the eligible cars list.
2. Category changed to N400.
3. BOP has been enabled.

I was having a hard time coming up with power/weight values and decided the Gr.X race cars would be better suited for a vintage race car event. It would've been a waste having to restrict their power, weight, and tire specs. Sorry for the confusion.

Just a reminder for tomorrow’s event. I’ll post the room ID and do my usual tags once it’s live.

Everyone that’s signed up so far:

@Nick Cannella @Pigems @LineR32 @Fudman420

@TurboTacho - I never put you down on the sign-up sheet, but you seemed interested. Are you participating?
A hidden yes. I was away for the last couple of days.

Seems like it's a full house today.

Another good series of races this week, although the first race was a little contentious. I hope there isn’t any bad blood between anyone.

Another GTP member entered the mix today: @sturk0167. I hope you enjoyed your time with us and hope to see you again.

Next week will feature the Dino and the Stratos.
Thanks for the race. I didn't realize until now that it is a regular series. I'll make sure to show up in a proper car next time. I was just sliding all over the place in my General Lee.
