I’ve decided to take a break from hosting this lobby for a while. Everything on the Upcoming Events calendar has been changed to TBD. I’ll re-evaluate things in a few weeks to see if it’s something I want to resume.
@LineR32 @Nick Cannella @TurboTacho @GTP_Guido @Pigems @sturk0167 (and anyone else I may have missed):

This is just a reminder to everyone that's been following the thread that there won't be any events scheduled for at least the next few weeks. I may start posting events again in the future, but that's contingent on whether or not I can get better participation. As it stands, my goal of creating a dedicated lobby for GTP members has fallen short after its first year. The demand just isn't there and it's not as enjoyable as it once was. Again, I won't rule out the possibility of a return, but I'm not holding my breath that things will change. It's pretty clear that the online racing community on GTP has better, more established leagues and I can't compete with them for exposure and participation. Thanks to everyone that's taken the time to participate in the past year. I hope you're able to understand why I made this decision.
Hey, it's pretty sad to hear that you're on a hiatus due to the low attendance and turnout in the recent months. I agree that the current state of community has led to racers forming professional leagues and teams to re-dedicate their enthusiasm and passion.

While this may be the unfortunate decision, I've still enjoyed whenever there's a chance for me to participate and I'm really grateful for everyone's patience and skills that have taught me to be better, and be even more respectful on track.

Since there's at the moment there isn't a decision to continue events, I guess I'll have to join an alternative lobby or even a league for the time being. Nevertheless I'll still look out and forward to your events again!

The cars are pretty close in power and weight iirc. It should be a good race between them.

I was thinking this might be a better draw than Dino/Stratos. Also, their stock weight is identical. It’s the MX-5 that’s a little weaker, but I can set the max HP to 128. Just have to think of some tracks.

Right now, I’m mainly taking a break. That’s how I’m treating it. I think I’m more willing to continue in another week or two, so things could resume pretty soon.

How does everyone feel about reconvening the group on Saturday, August 10th? That's a little over a week away. Is a 9:00 a.m. EST start time doable? The theme would feature 2 races pitting the Eunos Roadster against the Sprinter Trueno. The proposed specs are in the master post. Not a huge time commitment is required as we can probably wrap everything up in under an hour.

This sounds like a great opportunity. Should be able to join in.

Sorry for the late reply, I’ll definitely race when I can, I had a lot of fun with you guys last time. :)

We should have a little more twist with some aggressive 'success ballast' for the podium finishers...like some sort of a prize reward for finishing ahead of others.

I had this idea for an ambassadors event. Basically, we pick 1 car from each decade as a representative. Then a participant would pick a designated car to use for the entire event. Tuning would be allowed, but the cars would have to stay within the specified category. So if we chose N200, only cars from that category could be used (no de-tuning from other categories). Thoughts?

I’m down for whatever you guys decide. :)

Unless I'm mistaken, I believe N100 might have the best representation. There are cars dating back to 1950-1959 and at least one that represents each decade all the way through to the present.

Sounds interesting. If you run it I'd probably go with a 60's car.

Assuming I didn't miss anything, here's a list of all of the N100 cars, plus the Renault Gordini. I assume no one is opposed to making the Renault Gordini an honorary N100 car. If the Alpine can be classed in N100, then so can the Gordini, but that's based on my own personal logic.

As I've said, there's at least one representative for each decade in the game (1950-present). Most of the decades have more than one car, so that makes the selection process a bit more difficult. Another potential caveat is limiting the car selections to one per manufacturer, so there's a more diverse grid. I've bolded my preferences, but everyone is welcome to chime in.

I have all 3 of you down for tomorrow's event. If you happen to know anyone else that might have time to pop in, please feel free to tag them.

There are others I've tagged that have not responded, so I'm going to assume they're not interested or are unable to participate.

I don't think I'll be racing. Got a dental issue I have to get sorted out and I'm hoping I can get an emergency appointment tomorrow.

So if I’m understanding this correctly, we have to pick a car and stick with it for the day? But tuning is allowed as long as it stays N100? If that’s the case I’d like to use the Honda S800 ‘66. :)

Yeah, that’s pretty much how it’ll work. Once a car is picked, it can’t be used by anyone else.
