Has anyone checked if the "players met" function has been working with the beta? I never look at it because it doesn't work with the games I play. I use PS messages app and search people manually.

There are 36 cars in the BETA. (then you get dupes) Daily prize car can be reset with time zone change.

I will try my best to explain how to do it - it's easy really.

It's 00:10 5th of April - you get the prize car

Without exiting GTS go to PS4 settings and change the time zone (not the clock just the time zone) in order to be on 4th of April 23:10

Go back to GTS and enter Sport mode then back to main menu - in game calendar should be on 4th again

Exit the game and wait till 00:01

Now start the game and you should get another prize car (no driving required)

Repeat :D

NOTES:

Changing time zone back and forth wont work - the clock in game has to move from one day to another by itself.

Playing the game while doing this will require doing the marathon. (or not ? test yourself)

Your welcome

There can be things said about the net code and SR problems and the rammers, but hot damn, when things go well, they go really well. In the last Nurburg race today I had a super close battle for 3rd between for about 5 minutes straight between four or five other drivers. I've got it all captured and it's uploading right now.

Just in general the racing was really good today, I got some podiums and even managed to get my SR up from the mid 20's to the 40's before Tokyo hit. The beta limits things with only three classes and five tracks being accessible, but I really think Sport Mode is going to be so unbelievably excellent when all the tracks and classes are unlocked and the player base increases, and if the SR can get a bit more balanced/optimized. It feels like I'm having fun/exciting online races like 10x more frequently than I was in GT5 and 6.

Curious are you reporting this exploit? Or have you seen it reported already?

For whatever reason in Arcade mode time trial, the lap times for the Mitsubishi Lancer N300 and Lotus Evora aren't showing up. I don't know if there some sort of limit or what, but I've done both twice and neither have shown up in the N300 Rankings.

I agree with you man big time Im at 48 and the racing has been very clean and competitive.

I've been enjoying the beta myself! Especially with hot lapping, and got a few nice races in 👍 except had a guy punt me off in 1 Race then match with him again and does the same thing taking me out  not the best luck. But really enjoying the Time Trials, don't really have a clear understanding for tuning but sitting in 9th place under my buddy's account @ItsAllAboutWins with the Megane around Brands Hatch after tonight.

Front wheelers are a pain to drive around the corners. :scared:

If someone has a decent Megane Tune for Brands Hatch, I'd love to try it out

Guys, i'm the one who tired to read impressions/watch videos from US in-beta testers and just waiting and searching for news about EU beta in this thread?:D

I did a few Nords races last night. Everyone is so close in performance that we don't actually compete really, we end up as a train of cars time trialing by themselves  but it's still something to behold. One error and you lost a position, prob won't get it back. Intense.

That's the problem with the Ring very few passing opportunities.:D
That's a problem on a lot of tracks. It's not easy to pass on Brands either, the Nurb, Tokyo, Tsukuba etc. That's why track selection with such a small track list is important. When the player base online is large, there will be enough players that almost all of your matches will be against people of similar speed and skill and many races will turn into freight trains waiting for people to make a mistake. It's attractive for some of us but not everyone will be interested in that style of racing. Quite a number of people have posted about it here in the past, especially in relation to racing against AI that are very close in speed to them.

I actually love the fact even if im in 8th place I still have an extremely intense race. I remember with GT6 during online races majority of the time you were just hot lapping. I barely got good intense races unless it was with a group of people I knew, with this SR rating majority of the races have been a blast and, I really look forward to getting online to race. This was not the case for GT6 for I mostly just hot lapped.

I participated in race 2 & 3 at TE last night.

First race I was paired with D drivers with similar SR's. Most of their qualifying laps were similar to mine. I started 8th, and basically got shoved out of the way and I conceded many positions halfway through the first lap. Managed to pass people as they made errors but couldn't keep up pace. Made a few errors myself and finished 15th and lost a point off my SR. Seemed that some drivers in this race aren't aware there's a brake pedal. That, or I'm too slow.

Next race I was paired with the alien force. Qualifying laps are insanely fast, most drivers were B's and C's with a few D's mixed in the back grid. I started in the back. Race started well, no issues, and I was pretty much left in the dust with the other D's which I didn't mind. All was going well until another massive pileup on lap 2 at the same spot as previous races this week. Frustrating since there's absolutely no way to avoid the carnage. Fortunately the remainder of the race was clean and I finished 15th(?) with no impact to my SR.

Pick your poison.

I noticed a similar issue with Arcade at B.H. Not saving times, although opposite from you. My previous Evora laps are there, but not the ones I was doing at the time in the Evo. Very odd.

I'd imagine though that apart from the faster and more experienced drivers, a lot of people wouldn't be that consistent from race to race, or even lap to lap. So even if people are being matched well on their average skill, depending on what level you race at you may still get plenty of variation in pace and opportunities for good battles in individual races, mistakes or no.
