My reaction when I get 2 top 5's and 2 top 10's while avoiding the blood bath on Northern Isle...

R.I.P. my safety rating.

If I may, but it's 'Sportsmanship' rating not safety rating.

I'm feeling like we should boycott that track seeing as how the consensus appears to be overwhelmingly against it. Let your voices be heard in the beta forums too. It's not the most conventional race track and should not be in a RACING game of this nature. That's my two cents and I will stand by it.

I would have nothing against it if it were in GT6 or a future GT iteration. For GT Sport, I find it hard to understand how in the hell they chose to make it for this.

I bet PD has a reason for the tracks they chose and it might have something to do with testing not only the servers but also the rating system. Tighter tracks that have more chances for incidents could possibly help them test their algorithms. Warm us up with Willow but then turn up the heat with TE and the Ring. Just a guess.

For the love of God, PD;

When this game releases, remove Tokyo Expressway from Sport mode. The track is simply unnacceptable for serious racing; one person spinning out could lead to a huge pile up, which also could lead to massive SR drops.
Why? This sort of thing happens IRL in motorsport. The last round of Supercars, albeit in wet conditions, is a prime example of what can happen on a tight track. http://www.foxsports.com.au/motorsp...3/news-story/843ac525d2bd8a4c5fe6aab1713cd95e
Don't like the track, don't race on it, simple.

I'm aware that pile ups are natural in racing, but this track honestly doesn't seem that good for serious racing.

But, whatever. Let me know if you're having fun in a 22 Person Gr.1 race around Tokyo Saltway when the game releases.

Just avoid the situations that can create a big pile up. Don't be stupid and run three cars wide if there isn't enough space. Don't go full throttle and hope for the best when you see someone spinning out in front of you. Use your brakes and stay safe, even if that means losing a position or two.

That is sportsmanship.

However, the problem here is that a lot of people that race online don't know what sportsmanship is... or how to not be stupid... or how to use a brake pedal. I can be as careful as possible but that won't prevent me from being run into a wall while trying to pass because someone doesn't want to let me by when I have a run. I can't prevent being run over from behind while trying to slow down for a wreck because there's people that just go full on Days Of Thunder into the carnage. And when you have a track as skinny as Tokyo, the stupid people will be stupid, and it will have a greater effect because of the physical properties of the racetrack.

- Try to build up SR to get into clearner lobbies/races

- Obtain high SR, leading to cleaner races

- Race on Tokyo

- SR plummets

- Back with dirty racers

- Build up SR again

- Race on Tokyo again

- SR plummets again

It's a vicious circle.

The stupid people will be involved in more incidents and will get a worse SR score, it will sort itself out with time.

Just stay in the back if you can't afford any SR drops.

What if, you know, you actually want to do what everyone wants to do: win?

Then you need to make your mind up: is your primary goal to advance your SR score to get into cleaner races, or is it to win this one event?

So, if I don't want my SR to drop, I should lose all my races. Gotcha.

If you don't want your SR to drop you should realise that winning isn't what sportsmanship is primarily about.

And if they manage to take you out in the process, which is extremely likely, your SR will plummet as well.

Did all three Tokyo races today, SR went up in one and remained the same in two. This at 40SR, D Class.
I'd say most are learning how to behave on the track.

I personally think Gr. 4 as is will be the limit to it.

Qualify well.

Other bad tracks for online racing includes Monaco. In fact, most city tracks would have the same problem. Just exclude them all, is that really the solution?
I think Clubman Stage Route 5 wouldn't be in that category. It's a good layout and wide enough in sections to avoid the problems Monaco and the new Tokyo track have. Fingers crossed tightly for PD to add R246 into GTS.

I had no idea Monaco was included in GT Sport. This is news to me.
@eran0004 mentioned Monaco as a reference. As a side note, I doubt it'll be in GTS unless they remake it, unlike the way PD did it the first time. It's much too different (loosely recreated) from the GP layout to be FIA approved like they did for those four tracks they reviewed.

I wish. I haven't played GTS but I'm not the fastest racer around.

Me neither, with a 1:25 lap with the stock Scirocco (record is 1:19 with the same car), I'm being matched and starting from 3rd to 8th. If I start on the front it's easier to manage the whole track. I've won two races at N300, got 3rd~5th at Gr. 4.
The biggest problem I see is that AWD cars that are in the middle/back will arrive all together at the first curve. So then the tunnel section right after will see 5-6 cars at the same time and since that's one of two (three) spots straight and long enough where speed differential will allow overtake, you'll see a blood bath with eager minded fellas. I even noticed that some will gladly ram through the chaos because you'll take -2, -3 at best at that mess and have the rest of the whole race practically empty to recover.

But overall it's a good race. I imagine once damage is active, a lot of the daring behaviour will be gone, and with longer races, pressure will be bigger and then races there will be fully adjusted. 3-4 laps is just not enough for huge position gains.

And honestly, right now I see more people going red on Nurburgring than Tokyo, going off-track is the real SR eater. I just go there without a lap time, start last, cruise for 5-6 SR and generally end up gaining 2-6 positions.
