Servers offline?

cant connect :(

Not sure if they currently only let a certain amount on the server again or step by step but I also cant connect anymore.

EDIT : they just showed the message that they maintaining the servers now.

Also had a lot of connection issues, wasn't able to join 1 RACE. However, biggest disappoint for me was the fact I plugged in my Logitech G25 and realized only afterwards that apparently this weel is not supported anymore... There I was sitting ... hands on the wheel.

Hi,

this beta is really disappointing. Sound is bad, FF is awful (t300).

Tried two hours to do an online race, all I got were all kinds of NE-21000xxx errors. Couldn't do a race :(

atm I don't see any reason why I should ever switch from gt6 to gts. I think ProjectCars will be the sim of choice.

D.

Could not agree more.
(Glad i bought a dedicated pc for sim racing where there are a lot of real racing simulators...no offence for the simcades or arcade games on ps4)

How long do you guys think it will be before we see another release date? can't help but think we are going backwards

Mha i hope to see some upgrades with release like cars getting dirty skitmarks not a hud in front
Of the flaming exhaust in 3rd view than its a game for me driving feels great love the menus!

Servers weren't solid today. Many issues and an unusually high ping. But it's nice that it happens during beta, hopefully they can fix quickly.

I was able to do two races and won twice. My impressions are very positive :)
And that's a good thing!! It is called beta not for show...!!
Drive. Communicate. Make the retail better!!

all server connection frustrations, today, aside ...

from the USA, i'd like to welcome all our global brethren and sistren to the Beta

first 2 hours in: G29 ffb feels good, thank god, went from 5 - 5 to 8 - 3 in the settings. grafics dont impress at all.. environments are a seriously dull and these 2d mountain backgrounds look really bad. overal the game feels smooth and plays wel, the disconnects are worrying. lots of work to do at PD :)

Question for US beta players. The events once finished gave a time when next available, 23,22 and 21 hours. Does it always do that or does it mean tomorrow's events will be the same as today's?

Test Details
Beta racing schedule

Hosting of race events starting 15 April | 13:00 UTC / 14:00 BST / 15:00 CEST

During the weekend

Race Hours | 15:00-18:00 UTC / 16:00-19:00 BST / 17:00-20:00 CEST

During the weekdays

Race Hours | 17:00 – 20:00 UTC / 18:00-21:00 BST / 19:00-22:00 CEST

I managed one race in my STI at Dragon Trail, where I finished 2nd behind a German, Chaser1985, in a Megane. His best lap was a second quicker than mine, but I kept him honest for the whole race. And we were miles ahead of 3rd.

I think you misunderstood, it's something I would like to know too, the events will be at the set times but will they be the same class/track combinations?

I made it into one race today which was a fairly easy win, I might try to upload the footage tonight.

Been playing the beta for the past few weeks with the DS4, so today I decided to try out my T150 with the beta. Kind of odd what I've felt between the two.

The DS4 feels like it's more refined for GTS. With ABS on 1 on GT6, you couod mash the brake and never worry about lockups. However on GTS, once you hit that threshold, braking becomes far less efficient, and I'm assuming you are locking the brakes. Understeer comes in and you enter the corner far faster than what I've anticipated. Throttle contol feels similar, with loss of grip happening far earlier with the imputs than in GT6. I haven't been able to spin the tires from a standing start in 1st gear, either.

The wheel on GTS feels remarkably similar to GT6. Braking feels much easier, while throttle imputs feel similar to the DS4. From what I remember, FFB feels very similar to GT6 as well. Nothing to strong, but enough for me, since I don't use my wheel all too often.

I think folks on DS4s are going to have a harder time getting acclimated to GTS than guys on wheels will.

Hopefully this sheds some light for the EU guys just getting in now.

Is it normal that my Sportmanship Rating and Driver Rating aren't update? I've raced one race but i've no level for both items.

You brake with button or trigger ?
Because on Ds4, the button is not analog anymore, it means an I/O switch

@Leadfoot530 The T150 isn't a real competitor. Be honest!
GT was always famous for being a controller Sim (at least it's the best Controller friendly racing series that's out there)! But you get so much more out of it if you're using a good wheel setup. T300 and above i'm talking...
And I don't want to do harm on users having a entry lvl racing gear... the game isn't getting any better by the gear you own... but it's so much more real (and enjoyable) to me if you got some proper wheel!

You dont think there is a huge difference between a force feedback wheel that compites with the g29 (in terms of ffb) and the DS4? I disagree completely.

Yes and No! I have played Dirt Rally with a controller and it is much much better than GT Sport's. I agree that Gran Turismo used to have great controller support but with GTS they seen to complete have missed the point. It feels numb and there isn't almost any feedback to the player. Understeer and oversteer are almost none existant in controller feedback. I went back to Dirt and the difference was directly obvious. Both games are played with no aids.

I found it all to have a very strange feeling. A semi fixed 3th person view and physics are sluggish and unresponsive. At least for the slower N300 I found that particulary noticable. The racecar seems to handle better but also here I simply miss feedback. Brakingpoints, acceleration, cornering have all their issues when playing with the DS4. It doesn't give the player a lot of confidence while playing. Dirt Rally feels more planted and in touch with the underground you are on.

I think I need to invest a bit more time in GTS to see if this feeling fades after more play but I ain't very motivated :embarrassed:

this was sad.

I noticed that European Beta have different Sport event timing than North/South American so we might not be able to play with each other. :(
