I was underwhelmed in GTS Ring but then I watched this and came back to reality ;)

Not sure which games suppose to be so much better than GTS cos Forza 6 there looks worse in all aspects from lighting to road surface, car models and even tire squill.

Or ProjectCARS - I like it a lot more than Forza 6 but I don't see any more "life" in any

Really they all look kinda the same expect for GTS lighting which actually makes it the less sterile of 'em all.

Those two games have alot more vegetation detais. While GT has some grass holms behind the barriers from time to time which dont even cast shadows, and only a green flat texture as grass.

Dont see it looking much better except for lighting. But not track detail.

Might want to file it alongside the "don't punt people off at the end of a 'Ring lap" reminder, too.

Yeah, I've had that issue pop up a few times too, and it's been solved the same way.

...

Had a surprising race last night. Took a new car to Willow (Mustang Gr.3) and only had five minutes to get used to it. Qualified sixteenth and finished eighth largely because of everybody going off track or making other errors. Despite running a completely clean race, my SR only went up one or two points. Still, it was a strange experience to finish so high up in a C lobby!
How high is your SR now?

I'm at 49, but I am noticing smaller increments of change once I crossed over the 40 mark. Same as you, maybe 2 to up to 3 at a time.

Comparatively, I think I recovered from 3 to twenty-something in like 2 races.

I also had a bit of a backslide when I tried a race at Blue Moon Bay.

How did you get to C so fast, are you always clean?

I got to C this weekend as well.

I qualified well, started on pole, and won a whole bunch of races in D. Would say I had 10-12 wins and a lot of podiums.

Blue Moon Bay also caused a temporary backslide to D for me, but that was quickly rectified by avoiding it.

Just been in a race with @Tired Tyres, a pack of GT-R's and SLS's were behind me on the start grid and within seconds they flew past me, what a load of horse **** unless you've got a degree in mechanical engineering your ****** it's more tuning knowledge than actual driving skill that wins in this game and don't even get me started on the useless SR system.

The way I understood it is that E,D,C, has to go with how fast your lap times are and SR is how clean you race and the one that is not enabled is how many laps/hours you have on the track

Thanks for the information man, you using a wheel right? The controller feels great don't get me wrong but when it comes to online racing it's holding me back. I don't think I will get into c til I get my wheel next month... I feel like a scrub.

To be really honest I have little to no interest participating in races with unlocked tuning options. I have no time to fiddle with this stuff and the difference in times is gigantic.

This and people figured what cars dominate each class so it's pointless if you don't have such car - again the difference is HUGE.

But oh well I'll try to get in some races to provide some data to PD.

GT6 quick race had better balanced cars.

Yes, I am using a wheel, I am hopeless with a controller.

I am still a couple seconds off the fastest guys, depending on track of course.

I was normally on pole in D rooms, in C rooms was around 12-15 in the beginning, but then yesterday was starting around position 3-6.

49 too, IIRC.

Yep, I plowed through the 20's and 30's in no time. I know it's about sportsmanship, but I get the sneaking suspicion finishing positions help too, especially if you're finishing above people in a class above your own in mixed lobbies.

So what you're saying is I should avoid BMB too? :P

I tend to be, and I'm reasonably quick (but by no means alien-speed). At places like the 'Ring, I'll more often sit behind a slower car than try to make a pass at a narrow bit and risk putting us both off. I've also learned to just avoid Tokyo so that I'm not playing the role of other people's buffer.

I've been playing for about 18 days now I think, and hit C class a week in. I've dropped back down to D twice after some bad races (at Tokyo, surprise surprise), but moved back up after two or three clean runs. I'm not a contender in C though: I'm a solid mid-packer on my best laps.

People have been pretty generous with sharing setups.

I have a good idea of how to set up FF and AWD cars, and plan to dive into RWD this week.

You are right, some cars have a distinct advantage. The BoP still needs work, the top 10 on the N300 boards is always Lancers. Gr.4 and Gr.3 seem to be track specific, to some extent. It seems like a wider variety of cars perform, but the GT-R in Gr.4 is quite good, particularly when launch counts for something.

I was in an FF so I'd expect 4WD and RWD to launch better but not quite by THAT much. My Megane is 100% not tuned though.

It's not even tuning (unless you have a GTR as well), it's just the cars. I just did a race at Dragon Trail, went from 1st to 7th off the line, got back up to 1st in the end though luckily.

Right, I think starting closer to the front also reduces the chances of having contact as well. I was not enjoying 13th place starts at Dragon Trail yesterday up until I was able to improve my qualifying lap. I was also doing a bit better at Brands last night, and it seemed like I was going up by 2 or 3, rather than 1 or 2.

So what you're saying is I should avoid BMB too? :P
Up to you, I am hopeless at it anyhow, so it made my decision easy.

I like it conceptually, but I think they need to have some actual stock cars on the game to make the Oval/Speedway experience more realistic or practical.

Which car are you driving?

🤬 [Edited by Mod] they need to fix the lag. No way it's possible to have competitive races with this kind of lag.
Secondly people need to STOP pushing and ramming. seems like we all need some lessons in clean driving and overtaking. alot of the fast drivers as well as the slower ones. makes me think of dropping a bone in a dog kennel how the only thing people seem to do is bark as loud as possible and push the others away to try and be the first at the bone. Each race I'm trying to stay super clean, only overtaking when the move is like its supposed to happen which mostly puts me back in the pack after the first two corners because alot of guys just pushing their way through. I got my SR to 42 in only a few races but higher SR doesnt seem to help. very frustrating few online days with the beta. looking forward to private lobbies with friends that keep up the same standards, fast or slow is not an issue...

I must be feeling generous this evening, I simply edited the swear word from your post.

Don't bypass the swear filter.

So its a waiting game at this point (if you havnt gotten a code yet). . I hear the servers are being hammered by the influx the last few days.. if so. . . I think we're in for quite a long wait before more keys are sent out.

I'm so dissapointed with the beta played it once Saturday and not since the ffb felt horrid Not sure why they have decided to use dirt rally ffb because that's how it feels for me, I've always had ffb on the lower side but even on 1 and 1 it feels way to much and the general feel of the ffb why is it shaking going down a straight feels far from natural maybe using the awful scirocco wasn't exactly helping my experience but wow I'm disappointed

So i got up earlier this morning (to accomplish my daily goal) and got ...another SLS AMG (gr.4)!
To get me out of bed early was easy for GTS, looks like giving me a "new" car wasn't...!
Anyway... can't wait to get back on the ring!!

I think so...and it's sadly
Dante, where are you from and your psn acc?

Three races at Dragon last evening. First was midfield. The other two I finished 6th. The first of them I started 5th lost places at the start , Megane what do you expect, gained places and ended up in a great fight between two Megane's and three GT-R's for the lead. The Megane had advantages in some places and the GT-R had advantages in other places. I cocked up massively though. I mistook the corner leading to the chicanes for the last corner... :dunce: 6th came past me on the last lap as I was pulling away from the barrier. :ouch:. I could have finished 3rd... At least I set the fastest lap.:gtpflag:

The last race I started 16th, which turned into 18th at the start, well you know Megane, passed a bunch of cars and ended up 6th. happy with that one. :)

Then no event available. What! I wanna race at Dragon... :banghead:
