From what i saw on a stream yesterday, from memory, the UI for wheel selections and button mapping looked really efficient and user friendly, @Leohjames2014 can you take some screenshots of the various wheels and their menus, reason being, theres going to be some wheels that are again more suitable as they have more buttons. It's likely that I'm going to be considering a hardware change to accommodate all the bells and whistles.

I'm most interested in the T150 but I guess the community would want to know the in's and outs of all.

Thanks in advance.

thats a pain to watch...

I know how that feels bro... it kinda sucks.

Opening a restricted beta to only one country, making every other part of the world feeling as they are just the "rest" of the world, and rejecting more than a half of the already minority who signed up was a bad move from PD. They made some of their fans and clients like us feel bad. And those who feel bad tends to look for something else to feel better.

Not live but online racing 👍

I really like that they let you cruise around the track and practise while you wait for matchmaking.

I really do not like that they whack a yellow message with countdown timer in the middle of the screen while you practise. You're hardly going to forget. Tuck it over to the side and let people drive without looking through completely irrelevant text.

I'm already iffy on the permanent Tag Heueueuer branding in the middle of the screen as I think it takes the player out of the immersion, but at least timing serves a purpose.

Surely they are going to let us remove the Tag Heur branded timing to a different location. Retarded if it has to stay there the whole time.

I understand product placement but I hate to see it the whole time in the middle of the screen. Maybe not a problem for some people but for me it's a big issue :P almost philosophical topic.

I think it's worth noting that the "normal" Online is not available in this beta, what is available is the Sport online races at pre-determined times. That's where those "waiting for matchmaking in x:xx minutes" waits while practicing come from.

From that online racing vidéo:

The TaG Heuer timer in the middle of the screen is very disturbing.

The screen is cluttered with information

Loadingtimes should be a point of concern and they should be improved drastically.

Thoughts so far based on the videos I've watched.

  • Looks great, and not as sterile as past GTs
  • Sounds are better, but still not great, will be interesting to see how the are via tactile.
  • I like the UI and UX that I've seen so far
  • The way that the Sport mode is set up looks good
  • HUD needs to be totally customisable, as it's far to busy for me as it is.
  • Positional radar is great
  • Some of the movement of car and the way curves can be ridden has me concerned in regard to the physics a little.

I know, but it still doesn't make the placement of the text any more acceptable. If you're making a game for people to be driving, don't put stuff in the HUD that blocks their view directly ahead. One can debate the merits of blocking off peripheral vision for additional information, but if you can't see ahead then you're crippled as a driver.

Oh, I agree. My post was not to debate the placement of that UI element, that needs to be placed elsewhere.

Is this what is replacing the pp rating?

Probably. Bop could mean Ballance of Performance (a wink to the real racing).

Wish people who got the beta can break down which actions can increases or decreases Sportsmanship Points. Seems unclear even after watching beta videos.

Agree. The Iracing way is better, where you can see all your incidents (crashes, off tracks...)

Just to add, another thing that i did like.

The ghosting of cars seems odd in allowing overtaking straight through you.

Being able to overtake by driving a through another car while you are ghosted is a position you should have to give back.

Do the hands move the wheel to its full lock this time (not just 270 degrees or what ever it was), can you turn the hands and wheel off?
