No-one has mentioned HDR. Does this beta support it?
Yes, there is an option in the menu. But you have to be connected to an HDR TV for the option to be enabled. Even if someone had an HDR tv, I don't believe Twitch/Youtube have HDR streaming yet, so you wouldn't be able to see the full effect when watching over a stream.

EDIT: YouTube does offer HDR support, so presumably someone could record their gameplay and then upload. What I am not sure is if live streaming supports HDR.

Either way, you would have to be watching the recording on an HDR tv as well to see the effect.

As per the blog announcement:

And that looks like this:

So livestreaming it with the Share function is just fine.

However, it also says this:

Which means you can quite happily livestream it, but not talk about your impressions of it while you do.

Fun, isn't it?
I remember that this is supposed to be a response to people here who judge the game too quickly on the very first trailer (which is fixed on the very first version of the demo), resulting in tons of moaning in process without even looking at the immediate progress.

You know one of the infamous example:
"Oh no the Nurburgring trees is broken. PD is a joke!"

I don't follow. It's a response to people who are asking "What NDA?" and "Why are people able to stream if they've had to sign an NDA?".

I have an HDR TV, and it's incredible. Much better than 4K. Hoping to get a code, as this is the only racer with HDR support. Even when I had the vanilla PS4 the HDR added so much to the image.

why they cant add some simple sliders where everyone can adjust the sound, the force feedback & the view as he like? PD is soo behind the moon, GT-Sport is a stillbirth.

Probably they feel its too advanced for lil timmy. Us console peasants seem to be so dense. :/

It`s not really a sim tho...Great games GT but not really hardcore sims.. I cannot wait to get it

I know. I'm just retelling ;)

Also how come there is no news on GTP yet about this? The only news that covered recently was the GTSport watch. The contributor writers probably forgot to write :D

YouTube does support HDR to my knowledge, however there are no console capture cards that do support HDR, unless you're a really big YouTuber, perhaps. Such equipment will be VERY pricey if it does exist.

Bumper/hood view seems to have good mixing between engine notes and the transmission whine for the cars where the engine is too quiet in cockpit view. Wonder if there's an option like in GT6 to use different view sounds for the various camera modes.

Yeah, the lighting is beautiful. But in the back of my mind, I always remember it came with a compromise. Was it worth it? Eh, maybe.

I know YouTube supports HDR for uploaded videos, but does it for live streams too?

So the recording function within the PS4 and PS4 Pro is not able to record in HDR? Is the record feature disabled if you are playing in HDR? Or does it record a non-HDR video?

From Marvin's stream it looks like there are AI improvements for not running single-file.

I'm very pleased to see AI improvements and HUGE improvements in sound department. Graphics looks very photo realistic, but in the same time small things like steering animations, collisions, dark cockpits, camera position return us back to GT6... menu design is beautiful and subtle, very elegant, but UI feels overloaded. That timer in the middle of the screen... OMG not subtle at all. Overall mixed feelings.

Well, he may not be the fastest driver but he seems to be a nice guy. And you don't sell millions of copies if your target is the sim racing "elite". If someone like him can enjoy GTSport, it would be a good indication for Poly.
So far, I like what I see, it's not perfect. The transmission noise is too loud I think, the TAG Heur window in the middle of the sreen awful and the chase view still perfectible (Poly please, simply import the one from GT3).
However, great improvements : the sound is no more "linear", 360 view at least and the menus are fast. And I love the weird soundtrack in the menus.
A few months more and it will probably be a good racing game. A good base for a true GT later.
