Hey folks! I know I'm joining in pretty late into the discussion here, but something just popped up in my head.

Ok, something to chew on for you guys. What if.. and I say what if, they first give out this closed beta session for US players, then for EU and maybe even Asia (while I've not heard any rumors of that yet) - just to stabilize the servers before they open up the full game for everyone? Is that even a possible scenario?

no

Replays are gorgeous!

Marvin seems to improve and in his latest stream the car control seems to come much more natural then in previous gt's. The way he catches the slides in the Mustang looks good and pretty realistic. Happy to see gamepad love! It shows that a wheel is not needed to enjoy GTS 👍

Well, he may not be the fastest driver but he seems to be a nice guy. And you don't sell millions of copies if your target is the sim racing "elite". If someone like him can enjoy GTSport, it would be a good indication for Poly.
Came to say the same thing, he's so nice! Answers everyone's questions (even the same ones over and over again), listens to car suggestions, tries his best to keep the stream interesting...

His driving also improved lol.

I've subscribed to him in case he drops some content.

Amyways, I think the transmission whine is a little bit too loud, you can't hear the engine's sound, which is not the case in the videos of real life race cars I've watched.

Everybody loves the replays! Yeah, the quality looks great. But if you are in replay mode, all you are doing is watching a trailer. There is no way you can actually follow how the race is going with the terrible camera angles. They look "cool" I guess, but I cannot actually watch the race itself. Which is the biggest thing for me.

First of all, sorry for my english I come from switzerland. And write almost never english.

I'm looking forward to the european beta. But loud of different gameplay videos. The cockpit steering wheel animation will hopefully fixed to 900. I hope cars from the 90s are there.

The graphics are really nice. The HUD animation is very modern. But the clouds looks like real. I'm looking forward to the user screenshots and infos from the beta here. Find all this very interesting. That's why I registered here. Because I often go virtual Racing.

And Gran Turismo player since Gran Turismo 3 (2001) since I was 6 years old...

Welcome, Philipp. The 900-degree steering wheel animation was only ever in GT5 Prologue and didn't work 100% of the time. For that reason, it seems, they opted to stick with the more reliable, or consistent, 180-degree animation (not sure if it's more than 180). It's unlikely GTS will have cars from the '90s. One of the goals for GTS is to resemble and imitate modern racing. The cars in GTS that we've seen are around five years old at most.

It's the opposite for me, the camera angles feel more suited to follow the action

Many Thanks. I am glad. :@::gtplanet:

I did not know that. The GT5 Prologue and 900th Steering Wheel story... Very interesting, I will look at times on youtube or on a video. I hope GT Sport simply has 900 animations again. Because Project Cars, and the wonderful Assetto Corsa have it.

GT Sport will focus on modern racing cars. And multiplayer. I think that has advantages and disadvantages. But I hope the game developers bring via patches still normal cars. For journeys and photography. I know. Very unrealistically, but I hope so.

I played Prolouge at the time, but without a steering wheel. Because I was very young. I especially like the soundtrack or jazz, Acid Jazz, in Prolouge and the main menu. But GT4 had the best soundrack for me.

I hope they bring back older cars too. They helped make the GT series what it is today. The same for music in GT. Jazz is a signature of GT menu music. I started with GT3, as well, so I know what you mean.

Watched some of Marvin's stream tonight he's still streaming i think. I agree with the other comments, he's getting better all the time. Just a thought on the Renault R.S 01 is it me or does it sound like an electric car, the reason i ask is i spend my life playing Driveclub, the R.S 01 sounds superb in that, in GT Sport it sounds like it's had it's knackers removed.

GT has improved a lot the sounds. By reading this thread you could think it has a great engine sounds: it doesn't. Driveclub, AC, PC, DR, F1 simply wipe its 🤬 in that matter. Probably is the 3º or 4º worst sound engine of racing games in this generation.

But now the general sound is not unpleasant like before. Some cars are even very enjoyble. Also is very promissing the fact that with every new build they improve the sounds a bit. We'll see.

Yeah..... no one can beat them for visuals.

This is really impressive. It looks like the right weight goes from Evo 10 to the other side. Looks realistic. But I was already excited by GT6. Replay was wonderful.

But above all the lighting is better in GT Sport. So technically the most beautiful racing game. I only hope that it with other criteria in GT Sport.

I remember this 'grip' in demos of GT5P...They will fix it.
They could give us the choice between two grips? It would be a nice feature. Or a 900 degree wheel animation and its inevitable glitches or a 180 deg smoother but less natural.
By the way, a subtle blur would do wonders. I don't know why Poly is so anti blur, I guess it's an artistic vision.
Choice is the key.
