Let's keep it to the facts, please. I see both campaign and arcade modes in the menu for single player content.

No, not that. Obviously, that one is in there. But the OTHER campaign mode. The one with spaceships.

I'm not as hardcore as most of you. I play on a more casual level to have a good time. I am not focused on being the fastest in a TT in the world. That being said, I hope the racing lines (especially the braking markers) make it into the finished product. The flag markers in GTS are ok, but the racing lines were more helpful. Overall, I think the game is a marketed improvement over GT6. The sounds are better. The physics feel more realistic (to me at least). I'm looking forward to career mode on the full release.
The reason PD decided to remove the feature was because people were becoming too reliant on the racing line and weren't properly learning the track, and as soon as you took it away they would loose all their speed. The new system is supposedly design so that people don't become to reliant on it.

I have to say I absolutely love the Group 3 cars like the Impreza, Lancer and F Type, puts me in mind of the CRX and FTO LM's and all the other LM vehicles that have been in GT games from the start. The Vision GT cars are a little different, I tend to like them all for what they are but some are not suited for the group they are racing in, like the Peugeot and the Golf.

my thoughts exactly... Peugeot and VW should be left out of Gr.3

Could a moderator please add a poll to this thread? something like that in this thread: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/gran-turismo-sport-general-discussion.337545/

@Scaff maybe?

It could be interesting to see the results after the beta (or at least after seeing the beta videos)

Here are some clips of competitively good racing I uploaded.

Damnit. The endless tyre screeches are still there. Let alone how I've forgotten how irritating those beeps are on every sector and new time.

It doesn't look sim at all. :/

I hope I get in the beta testing because even if there is feedback from other beta users, there is no info about physics, tyre model ext.
Things that are the more (or most) important for me.
I mean the graphics are spot on,sounds are better than before (not in the level of some other racing games but still its an improvement) but all these do not matter that much compared to other aspects of the game.

The ghosting is starting to grate. Theres no correlation between a driver rating and then not subsequently being penalised for what would have been surely a negative score. It was there in GT6 but only when penalties was used, this meant that penalties were rarely used in GTP Leagues because of the unrealistic scenario's it generated. So find it odd that an SR rating can improve whilst under racing conditions that would nclude ghosting if cars. I hope that this is not the case when it is released.

The campaign mode is nothing more than driver training exercises, much like license tests from previous games. That's hardly a single player campaign, so yes, lets stick to facts.

I would imagine the use of the word single player is getting mixed up with it just meaning the campaign.

I think you need to read up on the meaning of the word fact and it's plural, only then will you grasp how to stick to them.

wow you really played the game? what else can you tell us?
No, but this is information that they have given us early last year. Nothing else has been noted of it, so Im going of the facts for now. If it changes than the facts change, but as it sits, that's been known.

You realize tires make noise right? From what I've experienced on the track, tire screeches are very audible to me from the inside of the car on many corners.

Yes they are audible, but on a softer compound such as "sports soft" or better, traction loss and under steer is more of a sliding "pshhh".
In GT it's always been an over exaggerated screeching squeal.
It would be great if they could implement audio sliders much like Assetto, tires, wind, etc.

i dont get the hate either :D its like they have never driven a car real fast

Yes, when you drive fast with a street car and tires. But not on slick tires and race cars. If you here tire screech during a race irl, it often means that a car spun/is sliding.

I hope the daily workout gives me a nice car today. Also crossing serious fingers for something other than Willow tonight in Sport mode.

Watch me get some non-competitive VGT and the Sport races are on that oval track.

Okay Jordan I see you. Good Luck!
What did the driver ratings climb up to last night for the people who started Tuesday night? Have you faster guys gotten into competition with any of the earlier beta testers? I imagine their ratings could be really high by now.

Seriously? What I'm saying is hate... Seriously?

Yeah, I don't hear tyre screeching when they're racing on TV watching the GT3/Porsche Cup races unless someone clipped them and spun off. Even onboard shots.

Even when race cars slide the tyre screeching is subtle. It doesn't dominate. I remember Martin Brundle commented on it when the turbos first came into being how he could hear the subtle tyre sliding but it didn't dominate the sound. You had to really listen for it.

Exactly my point. Those are hard facts as of right now, not an interpretation of the facts with assumption thrown in for good measure.
No interpretation here. This has already been shown in a presentation sometime back. So, facts are what is being discussed. I'm unsure of where you're coming from.

GT-Sport-3.jpg

Beginners is fairly straight forward. Tutorials and lessons about what you'd expect to learn as if this is your first game. "10 basic driving lessons and Videos" The videos are part of the 10 total, so even less track time.

GT-Sport-4.jpg

This one seems a bit of a better catagory, although split up in smaller sprint tutorials. It seems to show you how you'd get around a track. "35 sub-diveded race track challanges" leads me to believe that it'll all be similar throughout, and seem less like racing and more like a hot lap of a pre determined sector, rather than a full track.

GT-Sport-5.jpg

Now these are the ones that almost are identical to the license test of old.

GT-Sport-6.jpg

This covers 10 bases of what you need to know about racing, I can't tell if they are just plaques, videos, or small training missions.

At the top of each lesson there is a little thing saying either "training" with a little steering wheel icon or "video". ;)
