I second a human should be employed to monitor the "big" events as that's the only way you can ensure fairness for everyone. How can artificial intelligence properly punish brake-checking or "cutting corners" because you lost a control over your vehicle and went through the penalty area? And that's just a surface of the problem.

So far the only thing I really dislike is absence of tire pressure. I'll need to wait a bit more to judge the rest.

I would like to know how many people don't like high count of fictional cars?

looks like GT6
graphical improvements

It doesn't looks like GT6 because of graphical improvements

Here are some clips of competitively good racing I uploaded.

Really great video, super exciting to see you guys burn through the track lightning speed. I hope to pick up a few things from watching and I'm looking forward to more of them. I'll be sharing a link to your video in my next stream, I hope you don't mind. I know a lot of people will enjoy it.

So am I the only one that thinks it looks and sounds just like GT6, except for the obvious graphical improvements?

Yup I'd say so

But in all seriousness, quite how you've come to that conclusion, God knows . Graphically it's a huge improvement over GT6 without a shadow of a doubt, and GT6 was hardly shabby (ignoring Standards), it's genuinely stunning , and doesn't "look" like GT6 at all IMO

The sounds are also hugely improved already on pretty much all fronts (and with improvements still available too), so quite how it can be likened to GT6 I have no idea :odd:

Watching the videos, especially from chase cam, it gives off this hard-to-pinpoint feeling that it's still heavily based off the underlying GT6 engine. If that's what you mean... yeah, sure.

But the graphics and sounds certainly don't feel pulled from GT6.

For me it depends on the fiction.

GT1 was loaded with fictional racers - Cerbera LM, FTO LM, CR-X del Sol LM - which were, in essence, non-existent racers that PD had imagined. They were based on real cars and real technologies (even if the 4WD FTO was a bit of a reach and the mid-engined CR-X is very difficult to rationalise) and essentially cars that could exist without too much trouble. In fact GT1 and GT2 were built on fictional racing cars, thanks to the 'race modification' (although many race mods were inspired by or based on real racers).

Vision GT doesn't bother me hugely either. Many of the cars are concepts already and not too far removed from reality. The Golfs, the MINI, the Infiniti, the Subaru, the Mitsubishi and so on are close to production prototypes. The FT-1 might make production, the Citroen GT (not really a VGT, but the forebear of the programme) nearly did and someone tried to make some of the AMG VGT models out of existing road cars. The Hyundai and Mazda are examples of what the manufacturer could do with a serious racing budget for the top class at Le Mans - not too far from 1997's GTO LM!

But the X1/X2010, SRT Tomahawk and Chapparral can all do one. The Nike One 2022 (though not a VGT) can join them.

Well, the Tomahawk is not entirely outlandish (at least to me), just the X version is way out there. The Base Street version seems doable and the Race car is a perfect candidate for Garage 56 (Especially now in a form that appears to include a shark fin and DRS system similar to the Pagani Zonda Revolucion). The X version is reaaaally stretching things almost to a breaking point though.

The active aero panels, I'm thinking, don't align with the rules of combat, uh I mean, competitive racing. Alpine's VGT would be an obvious oh-hell-no.

I know exactly what you mean. And that is because the "graphical style and feel" of the game is still the same. It is improved, rather than overhauled. There are alot of games like this, actually, coming from PS3 to PS4. But then there are a lot of game series that got the COMPLETE OVERHAUL treatment (which is what we always want but won't always get).

I'm not really a huge sound person, so I won't comment on that. But to appreciate the graphical improvements in GTS you really need to focus on the lighting and the little things (like improved interiors or slightly improved trees, clouds and crowds). In the end they all add up to a nice graphical bump, but it won't blow you away. Also remember that GT6 is one of the games that was graphically ahead of most other games on the PS3, so the graphical jump doesn't feel as big.

Unfortunately for Sport, I am still seeing jaggies and the particle effects when kicking up dust leave a lot to be desired. So there is room for more graphical improvement. My hope was that the gameplay would look like the replays, but maybe the next version will look that good. Also, people on 4K HDR tvs with PS4 Pros should have an even better visual experience.

What is the Sport mode event tonight? Still gr4 at Big Willow?

Yup, I'm ready for something else now. I think Tokyo Expressway will be next, but who knows when or even how long the closed beta will last.

As @Famine said. The series has always had them. I've owned every GT game released in the UK and I honestly can't remember driving a single one of them.

I do remember that my absolute favourite race in GT3, Gran Valley 300, was polluted in GT4 by the presence of the LM. I was not happy about that.

Do you believe that the cars inside your console are real?

Has PD Said anything regarding what the Closed beta testers will be getting for participating?

They get to miss out on the repeated disappointment of going to their PS4 and finding no invite :)

So For those who got beta invites, did PD actually provide a way to give feedback and bug reports? Seems like they would missing out on most of benefits of doing a beta if you can't give feedback.

There's a private section dedicated for the beta feedback on the PlayStation forums.

@marvthegamer : Thx we can be part of your GT Sport beta journey. Great we can sneak peek the beta over your shoulders. Your driving skills improved fast over the last days. Keep up the good job! A lot of respect for the way you also comment with integrity (also on some troll responses).
Nice you get a new car after your daily work out. Hopefully also new tracks when beta phase2 starts soon (?)
