Reading about the ghosting and wall riding stuff...
I don't like the whole ghosting feature!

Why not let the walls turn into ghost if someone tries to ride them! ;)

After doing 25 laps (10 in the TTS and 15 in the Lancer) on tokyo, the is possibly up there with Nordschlife as one of the most demanding tracks in the beta. the slightest hiccup or hesitation can lead to almost a second lost over a sector. not to mention it does demand a well balanced tune:

Also another screen i took as I was leaving testing at Brands:

What is there to enjoy about such a dull grey atmosphere on a street track that's completely out of place for an eSports-focused motorsport game?

Don't not talk for others.

So... talk for others?

You're welcome to enjoy the track — nobody has said otherwise. Personally, all I see is this:

But hey, beauty is in the eye of the beholder and all that. I am a bit of a sucker for concrete when used for interior design. What's so strange here is that Polyphony had a much better track set in the city already. Surely a refresh of R246 would've offered a more visually interesting track than the drab gray corridor that's been provided.

It's a fantasy track. It could have been anything (within reason). With such a limited selection of tracks in the game — set to be less than any previous title in the franchise outside of the first one — it just seems a little... lacking.

One does have to wonder though: if this track were created for another game, and looked otherwise identical, would you still find it "beautiful" and "fun"?

I'd still like the track.

btw...are you hinting at a possible double standard in peoples' opinion of the track?

I'm honestly not seeing what many of you are seeing with this Tokyo track. Its lifeless atmosphere wise and just isn't all that interesting to warrant praise.

You can say the same thing about the C1 Route in Rfactor and Assetto Corsa. What makes that track better then this one (especially with it being in the same environment)?

Even though the lightning is gorgeous it all makes a bit of a dull impression to me. The more I see the less I want it :odd: Really trying to get excited but it doesn't happen....

Anyone else feel the same atm?

More so at a certain person (who tells one guy to "Don't talk for others" before proceeding to do the same). Doesn't help that said person is also well known for having Scarlett Red levels of Tinted Spectacles.

Funny enough, that's exactly how I feel about those.

As for Tokyo, R246 in my opinion was so much better because it was in my mind a much more race oriented environment both in layout and atmosphere. To me, it kinda has some similarities to some of my favorite Street Circuits in the elevation changes while being unique. This track I don't get any of that. It feels more like a Hollywood-esque cliché street race track then a professional street circuit.

So Tokyo has split opinion, cant really tell if i like it or not guess I'd be on the fence until I get a go but...

Its wierd though, FIA sanctioned game or sponsored or affiliated or loosely connected theres no way it would be an FIA sanctioned track, no run offs', no tyre barriers like I said its a wierd one doesn't fit the game??

Its just like GT3's out on the M25... weird...

Not to complain, but what do I have to do get a Gran Turismo Sport Beta invite beside registration?
Nobody knows how participants are chosen, but there is a very small number.

Ten months after the reveal event, the track is still the same. That's my main criticism to Poly. R246 is obviously a better track but I can accept an "average" track from time to time, I imagine a lot of work on the layout, buildings along the track...
But the scenery?! I'm sure you can read everywhere on the internet how dull the scenery is, too much grey, lifeless. And 10 months later, we still have the same Tokyo. So, I don't expect from Poly to really listen to our feedback.
(I can't believe they actually live in Tokyo...)

It's true that it lacks commissioners on track.

But apart from that, this track is superb in my opinion. Yes, it's gray but at least the atmosphere is completely different. Visually, it's very beautiful and the layout is fun because very fast and difficult to overtake. And that makes me seriously think of Ridge Racer :)

Sorry but on one hand you want PD to sit up and take notice because lift off oversteer isnt modelled correct on the Nurb next your comparing it to ridge racer... confused much?? I am.

The fact that it's different compared to other tracks - from the layout to the atmosphere - gives it an edge. The way most people see is that it's bland and the layout isn't fit for any kind of sanctioned racing, which GT Sport is meant to cover and cater to.
