Gran Turismo Sport Closed Beta Coming March 17: First the US, Then EU Region

Although it is a beta and stuff is subject to change...I think I am crazy enough to say that perhaps this GT is shaping up to be the best in the series since 3 or 4.

After a rough day on campus, came home to a notification that I got a beta code!

Hopped on this evening, and the beta is absolutly fantastic! Graphics and visuals are vastly superior to GT5 and GT6. I love the dirt effects on Brands Hatch; makes it feel much more alive. The lighting looks astonishing during early morning and evening; not quite to the level of PCARS, but from what we had before, it's a massive improvement in my book.

The sounds come out pretty well. Not perfect, but it's a big step forward. Nice to hear the suspension work a bit, and thank heavens the tire squealing has been toned down!

Only things I don't like are the main driving HUD, which comes up a but too far on the screen for my liking. The MDU (If that's even what they're calling it) is a nice touch, allowing you to adjust TC, brake bias, fuel mixes, and a few other things as well as a small track map. Don't think the fuel mix is working yet, but that may be an open-wheel car only thing. Dunno.

Has anyone found a button to change camera positions? I took a look through the mapping earlier and I couldn't find it anywhere. Somehow I've managed with the bumper cam, but it's not really my cup of tea. Maybe I'm missing something.

You are spot on with the tire sounding way better! I also didn't know the suspension made that much noise compared to the streamed video's it sounds great!

Really? That's odd because several people from other countries with US accounts have reported having codes that said "invalid" or weren't working.

As I mentioned on a previous page, that seems to be happening to Canadian PSN accounts only. People were accepted, but the codes themselves are region-locked to US PSN, it seems.

Has anybody received a for a non-US PSN account? Genuinely curious what's going on.

I see that quite a few people had server disconnect issues. The server disconnect bug bit me once at Tokyo and twice at Brands Hatch. This happened right after the matching was completed. I was only able to run five races. I did win one race at the oval track.

Code is very region specific, as in you have to be in the US. Having a US account while in other countries just won't work.

Mine was saying 18 minutes, but then it was going up in time remaining. I paused it, and resumed it and made it worse. Now it's 95 minutes left.

Really liking that the outside line is the dominant line at North Isle. Very fun time. AI is also much more fun. Tokyo is a fun track and nails the look of a highway in Tokyo, it isnt like the animes, after all.

In my first 4 hours with GTS, its got my purchase for sure. Serious potential to be the best GT ever. Sounds bold, but I am *that* impressed rn.

Ended up finding the camera view option I was looking for. Right in the middle of the list.

Believe we have Chase, Roof, Interior, and Bumper cameras, which may be the same ones we've always seen, but my mind is slipping at the moment. Chase cam feels a bit high for my liking, interior feels like the driver is staring at the wheel, and bumper is...well...the same as it's always been.

Hopefully we can adjust the positioning a bit, but I'll be fine if we can't.

Just got the 458 GR.3, and my god, is that thing fast! Really hoping to get the Corvette GR.3 soon; about the closest I'll get to a C7.R.

Gotta hook the T150 wheel up, too. I loved GT6 with it. GTS is sure to be a pleaser as well!

Yeah my hub should show up tomorrow. I believe I have CronusMax set up properly. I guess it all depends if they still let the G27 wheel be registered as a G29 wheel, when on PS4. I may try it tonight and see if being a beta. I can get lucky and just plug the Fanatec straight into the PS4.

Just clicked on my PS4 to find the invite this evening. What a surprise that was. Played it for about an hour and fiddled with everything I could and I have to say I am impressed so far, and it looks to have great potential to be even better. I haven't played any or been on here for at least a year. Don't have a wheel yet (used one on PS3) so I just played this joystick and was pleasantly surprised. Not perfect but lots of improvement IMO. Graphics of immediate track and cars of course look a whole new level. The hdr feel of it really kicks it up. Hope y'all get to play soon, most will find something to really dig here.
