I'm also speaking from experience. My code was from a US account but I could not log in with my EU account. A message appeared saying the game couldn't be played on the account the code wasn't redeemed on.

Meanwhile, Canadians were sent codes to their CDN PSN, but had to redeem it on US accounts to download the game. However, it won't actually function on these US accounts.

Edit: I should mention that now it appears the US bypass is no longer needed.

It seems more like you can't do it if your spanning oceans, in an entirely different geological location. It would make sense that his would work, and not yours, if that's the case.

PD please give those EU betas out, one for me.. Everyone wins, Sony, PD, local PS dealer and my credit card provider bank.
Don't have PS4 currently, no need for it, unless PD gives beta code to me and then my CC melts.

My thoughts are we will still hear something about the EU beta as early as next week after the PSN+/store maintenance. The EU beta forum is on its way to being set up from what I read and with the US beta into the next phase they will want to test the stress on the servers soon. Maybe GT Sport will be put on the EU Store again soon as well, it is now already on all the 'coming soon' adverts along with recent pre-orders on the official playstation site.

I assume it will start like the US one with a few drip fed to start with selected EU/NZ/AUS countries/codes given then increase over the next few weeks.

I wonder how many signed up in the EU? How many applied more than once ;) 👍

My impressions so far:

Graphics are decent. Was expecting a little bit more tbh. The scenario outside the track is really rough, some trees are horrendous. Cars have a lot of jagged edges. But this makes performance ROCK SOLID at 60 frames, so i'm fine with it. Have to wait and see if this performance will be mantained during rain and dynamic time of the day races (the former is pretty much confirmed to be on the game with the rain tires available to pick, and the latter could still be a feature in the game, i hope they do it).

The new HUD is lovely. A lot of information, gaps for cars in front and behind you, your laptimes, your optimal laptime. Very very nice.

Sounds are good. Not Dirt/Assetto/PCars good, but A LOT better comparing to previous GT. I like the direction theyre doing with this department.

Physics now. It's Gran Turismo. If you like the previous ones, you will definitely love this one. It's an improvement. But then we have those collisions... they are as bad as they were since the first GT. No improvement at all here. Collisions are such a massive part on a race that i don't know why they havent prioritized this area. For me, the biggest flaws on GT since forever were sound and collisions. It's so unrealistic. It kills the enjoyment for me :/

Damage. Can't really say much about this one. Seems to be really low. Non existent almost.

In suma, i don't think this is a generation leap. I'm not getting it if they keep this kind of level.

I tried with another US account and it didn't work. So it is tied to the original beta account.

That's my point. Youre in a different continent all together. Maybe they have a way of seeing and restricting that. Seeing as how Canadians have been able to work around US accounts, it seems likely. When you get an EU code in willing to bet it would work on another EU account t. We'll have to wait and see.

I got the code on one US account, then tried it with another US account and it didn't work. Same as everybody else. Maybe they can tell my IP but that shouldn't affect what code it was handed out too because both are US accounts.

But yes, the start of the EU beta will be interesting.

UK based user.
Received the GTS invite to my US account last week.
Got back from holiday yesterday & have played on DS4 & T300RS. Ran three online races so far (time difference is a killer at the moment), I did ok but I'm surprised at the comments on netcode so far.
It's been really solid for me, ping @ 85ms using fibre broadband (35D/7U) - no major glitching and surprisingly polite opposition (mostly).

Curious to know if I'm connecting to (potentially empty) EU servers or to the States.

One final thing, I've seen US, Canadian, Brazilian & Mexican flags next to my opponents.

Doing a livestream, come join for races and casual talk!
EDIT: Thank you for watching! The stream has concluded.

Isn't PS+ required for multiplayer? That would make it unlikely that you would get the beta unless you had it.
At the moment no. There are several of us with the beta that do not have PS+ accounts and are able to enter and race in Sport Mode events. However it's anyone's guess if this will be the case in the final version.

The PS Store pre-order says PS+ is required for online play.

The US accounts on my machine that did not get an invite will not run the beta. Only the ones that did get an invite can run the beta. I am in the US :) I don't think actually physical location matters. It sounds like the Canadians had something not setup right from PD with their Canadian invites.

Anyone know if the practice time before the actual race start (this is the point after the matching when you are in the room with those you will race against) affects SR?

i've been refreshing this website over and over again this morning... whats up!? everybody's racing or what!?
dont let members without beta code behind! please! ;)
at least feed us some information or impressions!

I've been thinking the same :D lack of information is killing me :D
