Man I have forgotten almost everything german I've learnt. Hope the TS050 and the new Porsche LMP1 end up making it.
It simply says "The Peugeot 908 HDi FAP is only one of many cars you can put the pedal to the metal in GTSport!". But that #soon brings my mood up. I realy do hope it hints at an EU Beta start, since it's coming from the German PS Twitter account.

Step it up PD or my pre-order is cancelled.

In all seriousness though, it's very disappointing that you can't choose the country your representing in a game which is supposed to represent FIA racing. I'd love to have the Scotland flag on my car!

:P

To be fair, we haven't been given an update on the livery editor yet. If it's sufficiently robust, I'm sure we can put our names/flags on the car, much like we do in FM6, where @Jordan is a 787B driver:

:D

I got in the US beta few days ago because I'm a real fan. (only real fans gets the code :sly:)

JK :P

Graphics are incredible but not always - clear weather (sunny) settings on tracks looks rough. Shadows on trees will flicker and pop in really close. Aliasing becomes noticeable and in general there's a rather big difference in cloudy and sunny.

There's a reason all this "real" (game looks like that actually) pics and gifs are taken with cloudy, evening time of day.

And I'm not saying it's terrible but it's like this:

Cloudy - tears of joy, jaw on the floor etc

Sunny - ehh

Sounds are good - not great.

AI is slow - from the last to first place in 1 lap on Brands Hatch slow.

Physics - when you're driving you feel like there's more stuff going on compared to GT6 yet it's not any harder and I would say even easier. I felt that it was exceptionally easy to recover a car.

Playing with a controller felt amazing. GT6 was great - this is better.

Tokyo is grayer than it looks in videos - not even joking. It's like driving in a bag of cement. BUT it's as much fun as it is gray. It's a fun track to drive on.

Netcode seems really good - so I'm in Italy, using 2.4 Ghz WiFi, playing with folks in USA and warping was almost non-existent and the cars looked very good.

Most people really try to avoid contact.

Not much to do in the BETA but it's fun to play. 👍

Anyone know if the practice time before the actual race start (this is the point after the matching when you are in the room with those you will race against) affects SR?

Only the race itself counts toward your SR, I was looking at this last night and the SR never changed during the warm up time.

The PS Store pre-order says PS+ is required for online play.
Maybe for online, but for "Sport Mode?" I know it's still technically online but I don't have a PS+ account and can enter and race in Sport events on this beta version.

It's probably fair to say that the PS+ requirement (or lack thereof) in the beta should not be taken as necessarily representative of the final game. What first party game on PS4 doesn't utilize it?

Its just marketing for both FIA and PD.If you are looking for a more "real life experience" perhaps you should buy a PC and try iRacing for example (esports/sim racing).

To be honest though, there's only one place you can get that kinda of experience and admittingly its abit more expensive, but its also way more "Real" ;)

Some pop ins.
Cars in online appearing and warping into new spots lol.
Still online racing is quite ok even running on the huge Nring.

Graphics are more or less like Forza. Clearly a quality game with lots of time put into it.

But is it a true GT, ehh feels like something else.

Have only been able to race here and there between dinner, walking the dog, work, and wife, but race 3 at TE was pretty interesting tonight. Come around a blind corner only to find a 10 car pileup. Naturally I couldn't react in time and plowed into everyone.

Still, I fared pretty well and wound up with a neutral SR result. Everyone else took quite a beating on their SRs...

Uhh... the game somehow ranked me up to C class in DR and now I'm in dead last in the qualifications... my time is a :23 in the Nurb while everyone else has less than :10...

Rip me.
Ha! Make the best of it and think of yourself as being on their level. And you shall become :-)

I keep working my progress bar as a D up to full, and then I don't race for 2-3 days, come back and it's almost empty. One or two races and it's filled up a good ways but never made C. Plus it seems like it shows two different progress levels depending on if you view profile from home screen or within options.

It seems there is some racing frequency component to the calculation, which is understandable. But it should be a month-scale thing, not days or even weeks. I can only squeeze a race or two every few days with them happening at prime time like this.. worked a lot better when races happened after the kiddos go to sleep!
