After playing the beta for a few days, I have to say, I am really enjoying it so far. The graphics are a huge step-up from GT5 and GT6, the engine sounds have been improved by a lot, and it's lots of fun to play even if there's hardly anything to do in the beta. I just wish you could race online any time of the day instead of a certain time period.

Anyways, I am currently on Level D with a Sportsmanship Rating of 15 (Tokyo takes away alot of SR points for me). I usually end up in the podium of races although my driving style is sometimes dirty (though I try to be as clean as I can). Does the SR affect your Driving Level?

I'm seriously shocked the sounds improved as much as they have. Most of them sound like real cars now. Personally I'd like louder exhaust on the race cars to differentiate them better from the road cars, but given PD's track record I'm not displeased at all.

I've finally been stepping up online racing, it's great to consistently get in the top three while having some great heated racing moments. Last night I was on the nurb and I was dueling an Alfa for second, I've never been more satisfied to get second lol.

Yeah the backgrounds need a little more work as far as textures and objects go, but I'm seriously loving this game. It's not revolutionary or anything but I think PD captured the euphoria of online racing rather well :)

I wouldn't get too pumped up if I were you. Some cars are still quite weak. Much to my delight, I received the regular STI tonight. My #1 wanted car! And it sounds really vacuum-y. :( I mean I know the 2 liter EJ they use in Japan is a little more buzzy than our big 2.5 but geeze. At least it's a lively car to drive 👍

The online racing is looking promising. Quick match on steroids, just as I had hoped. GT6's quick match was the first time online racing became something I did regularly. Eventually it was the only thing I did in GT. So far, Sport mode fixes everything that made quick match bad and maintains or builds on everything that made it good. The only exceptions are availability and variety. Variety won't be an issue, though I'd prefer more locked tunes. Availability, I'm not sure. Im thinking we'll see some races that are up 24/7 but suspect they'll be limited as far as SR/DR impact.

Speaking of DR, to follow up on my previous post - seems like every time I look at my profile the DR progress bar is different. Pretty sure that's broken.

Unless it has a performance exhaust, it's really quiet and vacuum like in real life too.

I think i have found a bug:

^ I wonder would that be enough space for XJ220 to squeeze by. It's a good thing auto pilot takes care of driving pass the tollbooth.

I found something odd: whatever you try to go the wrong way around on any track and touched the barrier even for a slight tap, the car suddenly spins around and tries to face the right direction. Doing the same thing while facing the right direction would not result in this.

Seems smart and obvious to me, just to help the innocent player (and most times un-innocent player) to get back to track! Maybe that would limit the rammers and bull****ers from getting their job done!

You can still ramm facing the right direction. This is more like "help getting back on track in the right direction" in case of losing control, hitting the wall and spin the car (at the same time).

I thought I was the only one who noticed this..... It happened to me when I was trying to turn around after a spin out

I think that's a part of the issue with the sounds: The lack of exhaust. Before, PD just used Doppler to compensate for that and it was ok at best (though it was spectacular to hear in the tunnel with cars like the XKR-S and the Zonda). Now even though the cars have far more sound detail (Chassis scrape being a surprise addition I wasn't expecting), they now are missing both Doppler AND exhaust and it sorta shows more so then before with the engines seeming louder on the inside then the do on the outside.

I'm making a dangerous bet knowing the people here and PD, but I think some more of that improvement will be there in the final version. They made such a massive jump compared to what they did before, I wouldn't count out another step closer.

Everything to give the US GT Sport racers a head start of a month to make it easier for them to stay at the top of the upcoming WW leagues versus our sad still waiting EU's :lol::lol::yuck:
According to the Copper Box event, the U.S. isn't in the FIA World Championship in GTS

Same old ones from the trailers

Does anyone know if you need PS Plus for it??

I registered two accounts. MAYHEM_57 does not have PS+ but it's been running GT since GT3 A Spec. I was not invited. The other account, Ray_Striver, has minimal track time on GT but does have a PS+ membership, was invited.

Can you only play online with other or AI? - I never played a beta (I have no Idea)

We can play on line but it is very limited, Three race senarios each day. Off line is available always but only at Brands Hatch. You can do a race or time trial there.

Update, MAYHEM can enjoy off line racing only. Along with that he received the same three cars to start the game. Also put in his mileage and no new car. No doubt because of being denied on line access (no PS+ Membership).

Just got the privilege to race against the legend @marvthegamer !

I was at 2nd position on the grid at brands hatch, but the Scirocco has an absolutely disgraceful launch control. Lost some positions, then someone pushed me off the track and i got to the back of the pack. Managed to overtake him on the next lap.
As soon as the race finished, i went to his channel to see it all lmao. :gtpflag:
