Maybe Sony will regenerate a few brain cells and allow Fanatec products by then. If not i am not bothered at all about delay as it was a no buy for me anyway.

They won't. The reality is that the amount of people using wheels on consoles is very small and the amount using expensive Fanatec wheels is even smaller.

Allow me to preface the rest of this thread's activity with both a warning and a bit of wisdom.

Gran Turismo (and the other racers) are games first and foremost. The undying, fanatical allegiance to that game perceived by some, from something you receive nothing more than personal enjoyment is alarming to say the very least. Your allegiance to such extreme levels is not going to get you very far here. If all any one of you plans to do is deride and condescend other games for the sole reason of it not being Gran Turismo, you're not going to get very far here.

It is one thing to love a game and discuss both its merits and shortcomings when compared to other games but it's another thing entirely to emotionally invest oneself into a discussion that is so out-and-out pointless that one would have to defend a game – seemingly to the death – because one is under the impression their "fight" is for the better of the franchise. It isn't. If anything at all, you're only cementing the notion many people already have about "hardcore" fans, and that doesn't benefit anyone, especially the individual on said tirade.

Again, if one's only intention is to come here and disturb things by causing trouble and blindly defending a game that needs no defending (no game does in this context) then the story becomes you're not welcomed here.

While we'll always encourage heated debates of any kind so long as they don't pass the point of no return, it's important to remember that this is a community. It's time some of you started acting the part.

Ignorance would've been a better solution imo.
I consider myself a fanboy when it comes to GT, but I don't , usually , show this to public.

Mario Kart objectively contains the most consistent quality in experience and assets in the racing genre out of those 3 franchises.

Secret is out now:lol:. You realize that the opinion of a "fanboy", in reference to the game he loves, can't be trusted right? That's the very heart of fanboyism.

The big difference is, however, not only do we get to enjoy the graphically superior GT games, apart from standards cars and tracks of course, we also get to enjoy the 3, soon to be 4, Forza games that have been released and the myriad of superior features they offer over GT. It's a double win for us, you, not so much ;)

I wish that was true, but unfortunately I don't get to enjoy the Forza games. Other than a quick ten minute bash at a mate's place (a rare occurrence these days). With a young family, I simply can't afford to buy an XB1 and an XB1 compatible wheel, just for one game franchise.

As it is, I own a cheap Fanatec wheel, which is now not compatible with my PS4 anymore, and the Mrs would kill me if I shelled out for yet another (and more expensive) PS4 wheel, so I'm forced to use a GIMX device to get my wheel working again. So sick of how restrictive consoles are.

Seriously, judging something that already came out a long time which he haven't tried and just by watching video he claim A is inferior to B. That is what i most hate against him.

I fully understand that and I wasn't trying to rub it in anybody else's face for not being able to it was just to try and get the person in question to see outside of the GT bubble.

The ridiculous Fanatec situation hurts me as well. It can't be right that my Fanatec wheel works on some games on PS4 whilst won't work for others. Let's hope the delay means that a solution to the Fanatec problem is worked out. However, Thomas from Fanatec posted the other day to say that it looks like Sony will require a wheel base with the necessary chip inside rather than just a wheel rim. So seems the ball is in Sony's court. They could make a lot of Fanatec customers happy by just relenting and letting devs include existing Fanatec drivers in their games. Like you not only can't I afford another wheel but my existing wheel is hard mounted to my rig and the thought of having to keep swapping wheels out is not one I enjoy. It could end up being the deciding factor in whether or not I buy GT Sport. But like I say let's hope one benefit of the delay is for Sony to relent and make us Fanatec owners happy.

I hear you about the restrictive console situation. I'm lucky enough to be in a position to own both but it would be a lot easier if one console did everything. I guess exclusives are at the same time the best and worst thing about consoles.
 
Lol, i could kill someone to play a Forza game (especially Horizon) rather than be here playing DriveClub since 2014 and waiting for GT forever :lol:

Happily I have both consoles and currently enjoying the Forza Titels replaying Horizon 1 since it's out for free on Games with Gold. Then FH3 drops and I have something to play until GTS comes out, I be ready and tired of FH3 probably :D
Wish more people had the same opportunity, it would calm down alot.
I can't complain much. But I understand the frustation...

Actually I think about buying an Xone very often. But I really don't want to have two consoles on my living room. The only thing that keeps me on PS4 is GT and that's why I'm so mad right now :lol:

But maybe i will change my mind in time for christmas........... :sly:

I also got to admit I didnt buy a new Xbox, and actually I seriouly only bought it for the Forza games. And I had good luck that somebody on a local online market sold his Xbone for 160 bucks including Forza 6 and Forza Horizon 2. was a good deal which I couldnt deny since it was a 10 min drive by car there. I wouldnt have bought it new in store. Too much money. But in case of such an opportunity I grabed it :D. Since I also had a Xbox 360 and Forza 2-4 I didnt regret it.
Perfct to bridge the time until GTS :)

The biggest worry for me on the delay is the 2017 timescale that's been given. Most delays of games in recent times have given a much more precise new date. Makes me think there must be some serious issues which means that can't give a precise date. What are peoples thoughts on when we are likely to get a firmer date?

I apologise if i sound like a wet blanket... (not that i don't completely believe PD ;))

but even if a date is given, is it credible and/or reliable given the developer's past track record?

Yeah, I know what you are saying and agree to a certain extent. However, if they had given a more precise date at least we would know when they feel that it may be ready. At the moment we have nothing to go on. Could be 4 months from now or 15 months from now.
