A PS5? Nah, that won't happen, the PS4 Pro is already capable of the best possible graphics you could wish for, what's the point of making an even more powerful console? I feel like it would be a waste of time and effort. PS4 is last-gen, mark my words.
I totally disagree.

PS4/XB1 2013 > PS4 Pro 2016 > XB1 Scorpio 2017 > PS5 late 2018/2019 announcement with 2019 release

That's what I think will happen.
agreed, but I think announcement will go with how market goes.
if ps4p flies off the shelves, they'll take their time.
if scorpio becomes an obstacle to sony profitanility, I am beting right now that we will be shown ...hollywood studios CGI again, years before actual console exist
:)

You have to see, if PD get shown new hardware, all that will flip.
what I see is sony being interested 100% for their pockets, everything else -especially the 'for the gamers' motos- being basically ads, means to increase profit.
the amount of sony funded games consistently pushed back, the relative lack of big $$ projects, and basically their replacement with the wealth of "cheap" for publishers indie games (and "elevation" of those to AAAkind though ..yes, marketing) etc, even their policies on psn and digital $$, they're all facts that point to one direction, if you care to align them.

so I believe that whatever PD does, it will have to do primaily with it beign an asset for further "ads", than substantiallity.
and siting here, three years in, with nothing but thin air from pd, its a reality that kind of reinforces my thoughts above.

Not even sure if serious.

You do? Not the first time someone's disagreed to something I've said... Do explain why?

Sony did a pretty good sales and profit with PS4,why do you think that they will not try this with PS5.Also in near future the CPU and GPU will be made in 10/7nm technology, after that will come 2D materials which will make the processors hundreds of times more powerful so there is plenty of room for development.

I received a "post quality warning", describing "adding up points that lead to a ban" for the post below:

When you joined you agreed to follow the AUP, part of which includes:

"You will not use “textspeak” (“r”, “u”, “plz”, etc.) in your messages. Decent grammar is expected at all times, including proper usage of capital letters."

Please ensure all your future posts follow the AUP and should you have any additional questions please raise them via a PM.

If PD could give us the build they use to show the game on the events, with online support at least...

I mean, how hard couls it be? The "demo" is allready done. Only put it on the PSN. And it is the lazy option.

"proper use of capital letters", as in "NOT ALL CAPS MESSAGES" one would guess!

so, my paragraph having ...3 fullstops without initial capital letter following, is a ground to gather points for a ban?
....
You are a gluitton for punishment:lol:

Probably there will be a demo for GT Academy in the spring.

So first we had the BETA (free) that was cancelled to bring out GTS in time (november). With GTS being delayed to an unknown date GTP starts talking about a GTS Prologue.

Why on earth not handing out a simple demo. It surely won't do any more damage than already has been done.

For that matter, why does anyone think ever that technological progress is just going to stop because people won't be interested?
It is not about technological progress, scientists in their laboratories are not bothered by PS4 Pro releasing soon.
It is a fact that with each new gen appearing, the graphical gap will be less and less significative, to the point we are today. The jump from ps1 from ps2 was gigantic. From ps2 to ps3 it was also great because of the introduction of HD, but not as much as PS1 to PS2. Then from PS3 to PS4 it was not significant, really. When you see games like The last of Us, or GT6 (given the right settings, like let's say Nurb at night with a single car on bonnet view of the R32) then you will see that the more real-life-like a game gets, the harder it is to surpass it, because graphical advancement is not limitless. Uncharted 4 for example was a masterpiece, Driveclub too. A PS5 releasing would not do any improvements over the PS4 on the graphical side, as powerfull as the GPU may be. Each new improvement will be very unsignificant to what could be done on the older gen. This, and the release of a "pro" version for both Sony and Microsoft consoles whichbis unprecedent, indicate that new generations of consoles will not be about graphics anymore, which can be done simply by releasing some slightly more powerfull version of the PS4 and that is more reasonable than releasing a "PS5" which would make no significant graphical leap at all, and these releases would still guarantee benefits for Sony. And also going by this route, it could allow for backward compatibility for every games on newer consoles implying the new versions of PS4 will be the exact same architecture with only some more powerfull hardware, and this will allow for older games to still sell well if they are famous, instead of the "ps4 now" and things like that which are obvious waste of resources for Sony. In fact everything will be much easier.

A PS5 may or may not happen, however if it does, it will imho be the last gen of consoles as we know about it ever, if it won't be this one. It will take the route of the same scenario of the "New" 3ds. No exclusive content for the newest console, but only exclusive enhancements allowed by the newest console.
