Why do you keep bringing AC up? Yes, if you say so AC is also unfinished, I've not played it. What exactly does that change? We're talking about GT games, I used another GT game as an example.
Why can I not bring up a direct competitor as an alternative example?

And it's not as if it's something I'm personally saying, it's not an exaggeration to say it's an accepted fact.

I'm putting forward a recent example, on the supposedly easier to develop PS4, while you're putting forward, an example to support your argument, a PS3 game from 2010.

The point I'm making seems quite obvious to me.

The point I was making was that a delay does not guarantee a game is finished. Any game. I used a GT game as an example. You added another game. We could add 500 more I'd imagine. It doesn't really change the point I was making.

No, agreed.

I'm simply stating, particularly if you're going to run with ' blah. blah, blah, PS3', there are very recent examples from PS4 for you to choose from.

But of course, the example you choose to put forward to support your argument is up to you.

Again, I chose that example because this is a Gran Turismo forum. I also chose that because the delay on that game was significant, into several years, and it still didn't mean the game was complete. It's a very good example against "Delay means it'll be more complete".

You clearly aren't willing to bend, and accept what I'm saying.
And therein lies my issue.

Forget it.

No I get what you're saying, your stance clearly hasn't changed over the weekend you were banned. If I 'bash' GT I also have to give other games the same treatment or I'm being biased.

I thought we were supposed to have our pre-orders canceled and refunded, but on my PS4 library it says that it would auto-download on December 29 next year. Has anyone experienced this or had their pre-orders completely canceled?

Some people have posted that they were completely cancelled and others have posted that they weren't.

I could be entirely wrong but I think its' Europeans who have had it cancelled but not US store buyers. If that is the case the reason could be due to different laws regarding this area, or just the different policies of the regions.

And we all know that's nonsense. Many developers had no problem releasing title after title for PS3. There were no hardware problems. PD trying to cram too much in (leading to less than desirable framerates, no standing starts, different physics for online), spending resources on features no one used (that GPS thingy) and lack of focus are why they had problems developing back then (among others). PD is the reason PD has trouble developing, on any platform. :)
I like to be fair. So you have to think also about THE TARGET.
PD was brought in for PS3 release BOASTING 1080/60 for the game, plus absurd features.
I wrote some pages back about PD role as advertizing for playstation.

Do you think that PD having been brought by sony on stage to claim 1080/60 for ps3 back then, at ps3 announcement,
it made PDs life as easy as any other developer that just had to find a way to compile on the freakin' cell and its stupid co-pros?
If you look back then, most games on ps3 were not even full 720p, let alone 1080/60. PD was set for marketing purposes with a very difficult task.
PD accepted it though, and they definitely knew what the deal was, so I'd still put half the blame on them.

I got an e-mail yesterday from Sony stating that the new release date is Dec 31st 2016, and that I need to confirm my pre-order. Anyone else get this?

EDIT:
When I click through, it asks two questions:
1) Would you like to keep your order for Gran Turismo Sport and receive it on or before Dec 31st, 2016? Yes/No
2) Would you like to keep your pre-order even if the release date moves again? Yes/No

Apps. Is there a possibility, some of the delay has come from working with Android and iOS? Like the Course Maker. It was for tablets. What if PD are including mobile phones and laptops.

I mean watching races on the go, by plane, train or automobile. Watching races from your bed or at a family barbeque. The game has an online focus. Wouldn't it make sense to make the game accessible at all times?

A post in another thread, mentioned Kaz liked to play some pig game on a mobile device. Are apps going to be a part of the experience Kaz wants us to have? I'm not a computer whiz. Is something like making a spectator app and GTS community app easy to do?

Simple answer is, nobody knows. Until PD actually communicate what is going on in detail, we're none the wiser.

True. However, in regards to Sport Mode, we have this info from the website:

The first is the “Nations Cup,” where players around the world represent their home country in the series. The other is the “Manufacturer Fan Cup,” in which players select their favourite auto maker and represent them in the series. And the fun isn't restricted only to the doing the driving, you can root for your favourite driver, country or manufacturer through live race broadcasts.

It's why I'm asking is this easy to apply to any mobile device? We've seen through past GT Academy TTs, a gamer didn't have to own Gran Turismo to download the GTA demo. If I don't buy GTS, is an app for GTS easy to make or would it take a chunk of time to make sure it works properly?

Most of the work would be on generating the video feed from the gameplay, once you have that displaying it in any app would be easy. Plus with the evidence of the course maker I highly doubt they would let any extra apps delay the whole game, they wisely never advertised anything this time. So no, I don't think the delay has anything to do with extra apps.

Though it certainly would have been funny if they had delayed GT6 until the course maker was ready.
Which would have been even funnier if GT6 would have been a PS4 title. That would have meant they would already have a solid base engine for a sequel/spin off/separate series on PS4 by now.:)

Dec 31, 2017 is the correct placeholder date for a game releasing sometime in 2017, the 2016 email was obviously an error.

please stop saying Dec 31 next year as that is on a SUNDAY. (another reason why its a placeholder, games normally come out Tuesdays for USA and Fridays for the rest of us)

It doesn't matter what day Dec 31st is, it isn't coming out on that date. That is the point of a placeholder, it's so that when they do have the real date it can only get better and the customer is happy. "Good news, your pre-order has moved from Dec 31 to May 10" for example. It's preferable for them than setting a tentative realistic date and have to move it back. This way the only way they have to move it back and disappoint customers is if it's moved to 2018.

It could just say 2017 but I assume most stores don't have it in their system to only set partial dates.
