Gran Turismo Sport delayed to 2017

It's almost impossible for a single game to draw attention from someone that owns 3 or 4 other games of the same/similar genre. It's not like he is comparing something "1 to 1", he is comparing 3 things to 1. What could GT have that, somehow, would make it stand out from 3 other games at the same time? I'm pretty sure that, apart from the Sport mode and the feeling a GT game itself has, there's nothing more a racing game can offer. Those games combined offer everything that a driving/racing game can offer, combined. It's not likely GT will offer something ground breaking that people who already have everything else, to make them forget those games to buy GT.
You're still missing the point, all of these titles alone offer enough to make people think twice.

Hell those that own multiple racing titles (like say me) are actually more likely to buy GTS (like say me). Its those that maybe only want one racing title in the range of games they play that are likely to have already done so; or those that want multiple titles but have jumped platform to PC or Xbox.

Maybe an old style GT could pull that off, just for the sheer amount of content in one game, and the semi-sim racer it is. But even that would be though to do.

They need to fix the real flaws about the game, like the AI, sounds, etc.
If this "new formula" doesn't sell as much as other iterations, then it's a sign they have to rethink about it.
The issue is that based of GT6's performance that 'old formula' wasn't hitting the spot as well as past iterations had either.

PD are in danger of doing what happened to the NFS series and mixing the message of what they are offering, while not realising that the audience and competition is also changing.

Gran Turismo was the only racing game I played until early last year.
Then PCARS came out and I decided to upgrade my PC rather than get a PS4.
Now I have PCARS, Assetto Corsa, Dirt Rally, F1 2016 and Forza Horizon 3.

I'd rather spend money on an upgrade part than buy a PS4.

For me, PD and Gran Turismo are too little, too late.

It would have, if it had a PS4 port. A GT6 with locked 60 fps and native 1080p could've been a major hit, especially with no real competition on the PS4. I said it, when it was announced and I still say it, making GT6 a PS3 title was a major mistake.

So the collector in me wants to keep my CE on pre-order ($90 here in Canada), but everything I see of the game makes me think we're playing GT5 in 1080p...which is disappointing considering all the advancements other series have made.

And then FM7 next year. Which was the point I was trying to make in here earlier: unless GTS is an absolute game-changer/system seller, people like yourself just won't move to PS4.

+1. They forced race enthusiasts to either stay with an outdated platform, or to move to a different one than Playstation.

Will say it again. Betcha a twenny when GTsport finally gets released the majority of you would be buying it.

Not much point in buying a game for a console I don't have, and that's not even getting down to the nitty gritty of if it's even going to be any good, considering it has branched off from the whole garage-builder career and into esports (which doesn't interest me in the slightest).

Nope.

It's not that I don't want to (ok, thus far I indeed don't), it's that there's no way I can justify buying two consoles. Had they put Driveclub and GT on a regular release schedule I'd have gone for a PS4 instead of an XB1. But instead Sony canned Evolution and refuse to cattle prod PD so I went with the competition.

Well you're already 0 for 3.

pssst..... (Poll says otherwise)

Too bad the poll was created right after the Copper Box event and was closed about two weeks later. It's October now; the game doesn't show much progress being made, it's been delayed, etc. There are many things that will impact the results if the poll was opened up again.

Exactly. I voted Maybe. Was going to buy a PS4 next month, but no game, no console. That's how I work. It's the reason I bought XBONE. I have PCars on XBONE and didn't bother to get it with a PS4.

I kinda wish the mods deletes the poll on that and start anew.

Im tired waiting for eternity to get something akin to prologue. Im also tired talking repeatedly on this subject for months.

They don't have to delete the existing poll though. A new poll could be along the lines of:
Since the announcement of delay for release of GTsport would you still consider purchasing?

Wait. Let me check the date when GTSport very first trailer launched...

24 days left until GTSport announcement 1st anniversary.

What will we celebrate with?

When I heard GT Sport got delayed, i got shocked a bit but then said "meh" I just bought an Xbox one and going to start playing Forza.

While I didn't play Forza Motorsport 6 that much thanks to FH3, I would say FM6 is the Gran Turismo that i wished to be. FM6 is better at Gran Turismo-ing than GT Sport is (of course i'm talking about the good o' GT from PS1 and ps2). I was sad that I only now realised why Forza players who were GT players back then despite GT nowadays but happy that I finally got Forza for the first time in my life.

Would not be surprised if Forza 7 is out around the same time frame as this. If so by which time we are looking at a ratio of 5:1 Well done Sony and Polphony Digital, sure take your time...
  1. FM5
  2. Forza Horizon 2
  3. FM6
  4. Forza Horizon 3
  5. FM7

Is it any wonder lots of people have migrated to PC for racing titles and now with Microsoft offering AAA like Forza on PC with advanced benefits (and yes some added issues) what at least they are giving fans and consumers is choice and entertainment on a regular yearly basis, even be it over two studios.

In all fairness, the Horizon series is developed by another studio. Not that 3:1 is any better really, but fair is fair. I would love to see a spin-off GT series without Kaz. Two year dev cycles...TT2??
