if the winner of gt sport fia championship should be presented at the official FIA event, then i have the hope, the gt sport fia championship will start latest in March 2017 like all other championships.

I just read the F1 2016 news about that game going mobile. I still believe Kaz has something up his sleeve for mobile users.

Worth noting we are now officially over 3 years / 36 months into the PS4 life cycle with 0 GT games of any kind.

It was ~ 13 months before a game arrived on PS2, a full numbered title.
It was ~ 16 months before a game arrived on PS3, a prologue.

GT Sport could even rival GT5 if it doesn't arrive before 27th November 2017, and that's without the above prologue first.

Yes. And one could say GT jumped over 'one console genearation' to the Pro.
Reality is that PlayStation is strong. So strong that it doesn't need GT as a system seller anymore. Although, who knows how well GTS eye candy will impact to the sales of PS4 Pro..

Ahhh...the old," Sony makes lots of money so no need to put out Gran Turismo to sell consoles" argument. As if there is some magic income threshold in business, that, if exceeded, there's no longer an imminent need for more money:lol:.

-> The pressure of moving systems has gone perhaps, but for sure Kaz is under hefty pressure with his new product. It has to shine and make big money, of course.

I'm not a Sony shareholder, I don't care about how many units they shift. I was merely noting how long players are waiting without a GT game.

They are clearly out of sync, and the reason is pretty much straightforward:

GT2 released ~ 10 month before PS2 release

GT4 released ~ 24 month before PS3 release

GT6 released a week after PS4 release

Early rumors suggested GT6 was initially targeting PS4 hardware; it would be interesting to know whether the switch/set back of platform was a decision of Sony, PD or a collegial one?

Yes as I've before GT5 delays and their desire to release two full titles on PS3 is essentially the main reason for this, but not the only one. We're still 3+ years since GT6 now, and it seems highly likely they were working on PS4 assets before GT6 launched. Most companies can get a game out in 3 years, PD most of the time cannot. GT3 is in many ways very similar to GT Sport and it still only took them 2.5 years after GT2.

The worrying this is that if they stick to a desire to release two full games per console, we're never going to get out of the cycle. The 2nd PS4 game would end up the same as GT6.

My point exactly. The VGTs proved this. Doubt they were remade.

With the release of FF 15 and the Last Guardian, I think Poly is the last big studio with absolutely zero product on next gen? And I can't believe it's actualy a big prologue...

We're back to calling it a prologue? Seriously?
A smaller GT? IMO, if Poly had enough assets for a GT, they would call it "Gran Turismo 7" and sport would be a mode. It's simplier to sell GT7 that a game focus on eSport. But maybe I'm wrong and it's the new GT called Gtsport like Gt3 a-spec.

It doesn't really matter the label you give it, the fact is it's a considerably smaller GT game than all but one of the previous numbered titles, the first one. It really shouldn't be taking this long.

No, I think they started with the new method of modelling a few months before GT6 released, clearly all DLC cars were already made in that way, as you say, they wouldn't have been re-done.

And we all know how eager Kaz is making a new game before the current. He said before GT5 came out they were already working on GT6, and the gokarts were originally intended for GT6, not GT5. But because of the positive response people had seeing them, he had to add them to GT5 too. Not sure what interview I read this in, as it is quite a while ago.

Trouble is GT6 was far from a finished product at launch, and required almost another 2 years to come close. A significant portion of the available man power was therefore lost for whatever future project.

As for having 2 full iteration of the franchise on PS4, I wouldn't hold my breath. We're kind of mid-cycle with the slim revision and Pro update now. Sony currently sells "The Most Powerful Console in The World" but that lead will be short-lived and potentially put to shame by Scorpio's standards. It wouldn't come as a surprise if we were already talking new hardware within 2 years. At some point Sony and PD will need to resynchronise their clocks. Maybe it's already happening, maybe that's the ultimate cause for the delay.
