I don't like to see product placement in a 60 euros game. Or please make it subtle.
Maybe Poly makes some money from this kind of collaboration?

I can only assume you don't like GT, or Forza, or PCARS, because every single licensed car in any of these games is technically a form of product placement. Manufacturers like putting their cars in games because it's a way to advertise in a more interesting and interactive way than billboards and TV segments.

Not to mention it adds depth and realism to the game if used appropriately.

Cars in a racing game.
A watchmaker in a racing game. Sure, there is no difference. It's just I see product placement everywhere nowadays : games, music video, youtubers... This is my humble opinion.

Well, here are the design sketches of the car.

So you would prefer for example a banner over the track to be blank as opposed to representing a product (say Rolex or Pirelli like this picture?). I'm not criticizing you, just asking :)

Nissan makes it themselves I believe.
Ya, I edited my post after using gooogle.

The amount of product placement in GT and other games is already so insane, you would have to think in many cases there's either a mutal agreement that it serves both parties interest and nobody pays each other anything, or when there is a license involved with money going one way only, it's something PD will never disclose so that it doesn't cause a "oh well you made this deal with this company" type of effect and turn into a money hungry business alltogether. I am often suprised how video games have been able to establish such extensive relationships/agreements/licensing deals with so many companies. It's awesome for us players as long as not used in EA fashion.

Yea man, product placement is just terrible these days...
The other day I was driving on Goodwood in GT6 and they had gran turismo banners all over the place, I MEAN HOW DARE THEY!??? Product placement has gone sooo far that they are advertising their game inside their game, oh and don't even get me started on the two mazdas on top of the statue in the middle of the track... just ridicolous... I bet mazda payed them to put up a statue, Lord March and his fellas are bunch of sellouts IMO.

BTW im sarcastic

Watchmaker or car manufacturer, they're both getting the same exposure from the inclusion.

The world is commercialised and there's no escaping it. If you don't like it, then it's unfortunate you've been born into the 21st century.

Pfffff... To each his own.
Pirelli, Brambo, Mercedes, Goodwood...=>car culture. That's ok.
And now a watchmaker brand in a car game? This is my last message about this subject because it's not about gt sport and people here tend to make fun of my view :P

Watchmakers and cars? They'd never go together! I mean, TAG Heuer and F1? Why on earth would a watchmaker spend nearly three decades involved in motorsport? That's just crazy! :P

I do actually think there's more closeness between cars and watches than you'd think. Cars and watches, to the uninitiated, are all the same (the former is just a way of getting you from A to B, the latter is just for telling the time), but all of them are unique and intriguing in their own ways, because there's an appealing amount of engineering in a good watch and a good car too. To an enthusiast, therefore, certain cars and watches mark themselvss out to be more than just tools. They are objects to appreciate and enjoy.

Yep, that reminds me of the limited e-type run (6 in total) that came with e-type inspired watches

You know, watchmaker sponsorship isn't even new to Gran Turismo. GT2, GT3 and GT4 had the Seiko logo right there in the middle of the screen every time you finished a race. Funny how I don't recall anybody ever complaining about those instances of product placement.

And of course, watchmaker sponsorship is extremely common in real life as well. The Rolex 24h of Daytona and the Blancpain Endurance Series are obvious examples.

For the sake of keeping you in sync…

Apparently, Carlos Rosillo (owner of Bell&Ross) was member of the Jury at the Festival Automobile International 2016 (January 27 - 31), event sponsored by his company. One of the section of the exhibit is focused on young industrial designers. ISD RUBIKA, a Superior Institute of Design in Valenciennes, was a participant. This is a project of one of their student it seems. No further evidence to a link with Gran Turismo so far but TF1 also sponsored the event.
