Was this from Gran Turismo 6? or Gran Turismo Sport? Because i'm pretty sure that the car in the background isn't in GT Sport (it's a standard car).

Also i like how they didn't bother blurring Call of Duty, Nintendo Switch...etc :P
@Tom how do you react to this?

I think this is one of the other problems with leaving people that are out of fuel on the track. At that point, the only real interaction left to them is trolling other players. I think there will be far too many people who will run out of fuel and think "well, might as well try and nail a few cars as they come past me".

For a while, I thought PD had opted for a more consistent approach than FM6, where lapped traffic only ghosts if they're travelling under a certain speed. But as I came up on a car, it solidified, and tried to take me out, I realized the error of my ways.

@Tom makes the official trailer again:cheers:. Anyone else want to smack the guy that said, "I'm an aggressive driver, I'll hit anyone":mad:

No need, the system should do it enough for us. :D

It can't be overstated how much @Tom's live commentary improves a race. I really hope clearer footage of some of the races surfaces. @Jordan and I had an epic race around Brands where we managed to pass on both sides of a competitor in T1.

I was just gonna mention @Tom being in the Trailer as well. That's it, @Tom should be in the main cover of the game, just replace the virtual driver with him.

Or for offline races, they should record commentary lines similar to that DJ from Ridge Racer.

------------
I was surprised that PD decided to add a clip where someone says to go and do some dirty race.

It does look like GT6, however i noticed that we got some Suzuka footage, and maybe the second route of Tokyo Expressway? You can see a car merging into a tunnel with other cars, exit the pits I assume.

Which part exactly? the Porsche 911 GT3 RS with the Ferrari 458 and McLaren 12c?

For me it's the Peugeot helmet that gives it away.

Fairly sure we haven't seen that in GTS.
Which is a shame, because I always thought matching the drivers kit to the manufacturer was a nice touch.

Yeah it's embarrassing.

Abreviated GT. It's been obvious to me for a long while now that GTSport is simular to PD's Concept and Prologue titles. Like Concept and Prologue, Sport's focus is too narrow for my interests or wallet. I bought the original PS console to play other titles like Crash Banicoot, Ace Combat and Need for Speed. Twenty years later, I am only interested in an automotive encyclopedia. One which I can continue to experience Grandad's old stuff with similarly minded folks as well as my favorite 90's road racing scene and next gen concepts with the youngsters.

Note to Editor(s). It will be extremely difficult to get some of these readers to dig what you're saying without pointing out that Sport is not going to be the last GT. I know Sony and PD appreciate your willingness to justify and explain GT's current situation. What the heck is ESports again?

LOL, Kaz doesn't have much to say about GT beyond Sport. Why should you? ;)

When I imagined Porsche finally arriving to Gran Turismo, I didn't think it would be so underwhelming.

I have just pre-ordered GT Sport and cancelled my FM7 pre-order.

You may think I'm crazy when I tell you why, but I will anyway. Much is based on FM6 disappointments

  • GTS (optionally) shows previous lap times on-screen for the race duration. I believe FM7 shows them for only 10 seconds (like FM6). This is important to me during practice as I strive for consistency, and I want metrics to help
  • I trust GTS to allow me to save more than the 10 replays which FM6 allows, and I don't trust FM7. (Replays provide a source of photo opportunities). I have hundreds of replays in GT6
  • I trust GTS to provide me with a decent in-game camera with better than 2 megapixels, and graduated like a real camera with f-stops. I'm a keen photographer

I'm sorry, this doesn't make any sense.

Why would Polyphony talk about any title after GT Sport? And why are people still ignoring that Kazunori has flat-out stated, on numerous occasions, that GT Sport could have been called GT7, and is essentially just that in everything but name only?

This is not a Prologue or a Concept.

Kaz states a lot of things.

Yep. And some of those things end up being inaccurate.

But until we hear about a future GT title called GT7, I don't see any logical reason to cling onto the hope of one. It's especially odd to continue insisting a "proper" GT is coming after this. It might — I imagine if this esports approach tanks there will be a significant rethink — but it's certainly not a sure thing.

Maybe he's hoping for one simply because "Sport's focus is too narrow for [his] interests or wallet".

It certainly is at this point in time when the game in question is not even out to judge its reception, but equally odd is attempting to beat someone over the head with something Kaz said in some interviews when the game is not even out to determine if Kaz was just saying whatever he thought might be cool for the final game to have; especially in response to that person expressing what they think the final game will be more similar to in scope when compared to GT5/GT6/etc. We've all read the press packets for GT Sport by now. GT PSP's specific media circus and resulting product should still be far too recent on everyone's mind to take them at face value.

Signs that there won't be a traditional GT7 after Sport: Kaz interviews (not conclusive, but something)
Signs that there will be a more traditional GT7: *crickets*

That's certainly a hyperbolized way of looking at it.

I don't think the media hooplah surrounding an eight year old game weighs heavily on many folks' minds when talking GT Sport, especially when GT6's weird snafus ("quantum leap", the track editor saga) are so much more entertaining.

Possibly they were implying that the game caters for all driving styles, including his, since you'll be matched with like-minded competitors.

Yeah, as PD's stated, the focus in GTS has moved on from the car collecting model, to a competition one.

I personally think Polyphony should focus on Gt Sport for the remaining duration of the ps4's life cycle. Post launch they can make graphical upgrades, add more cars, more tracks, and gamemodes. Polyphony shouldn't have to worry about another game until they hear from Sony that a new console (PS5) is in the works. Just my opinion.
There are rumours that PS5 will be a 2019 product AND it has to support PS4 games.

Agreed. We will hear about the PS5 in one/two years time. So the next GT should be cross gen at the very least.

Yup. I'm old and sorry.
Too old to practice being consistently quick and finishing better than 10thousandth place in the time trials. And sorry that I feel let down because Sport has no cars dated before 2009.

So 'eSports' is supposed to have FIA certified circuits and sanctioned events? That would be totally awesome if it were true. But I'm not certain because I simply do not pay that much attention this particular aspect of the game. A great race for me would be without incident and crossing the finish line without a scratch. Hope you enjoy Sport as much as I'd like to enjoy the one that Kaz cain't speak of at this time. The man only has 2feet after all ;)
