The goal is to at least give you the chance to finish the race. There is no retiring to the pits in the beta.

Yeah it was funny in the first Brands race yesterday with the field full of GTRs, I think only one made it to the finish line. I ran 6 most of the race, but you needed to short shift and let off significantly to make it. The Scirocco and Alfa were the cars everyone used in the second race. I saw some people diving for the pits so I tried it to, but to no avail as you just drove past your pit and back on to the track. I really liked the fuel races, kept you engaged the whole way, and there was always hope someone in front of you would run out of fuel. ;)

I hope in the final game we get refueling pitstops. I'd rather lose the time and refuel instead of driving very slowly.

I like them too, shame they got introduced so late :D

Sorry, my mind was somewhere else.

Yeh, fast deg. races are good fun.
Trying to work out whether you go like the clappers and get a pitstop's worth lead, or back the pace off.

I was thinking more inline with the old holiday seasonal survival races.
Set events where refuelling isn't an option. 👍

Candidate for a new Campaign event maybe?

Or they could introduce a larger variety of HUD elements including fuel consumption and a remaining laps estimate, you know, like real cars, instead of going with the arcade option.

Bye bye Beta... For me the first some days in the driving you was offering to much griand forgiveness.

With the Updates came through the "hand of God" helping recover the car even without any driving aids activated.

Sad to see the Peugeot vision GT without modeled cockpit view...

At the end, a bit less hand of God, a clipping FFB, still a quite bad online rating system.

Gran Turismo 6 was a real deception for me,and GT Sport raised that bar even more...

It has a to basic physics and tyre model, bad collision physics and damage...

Not Only eyecandy graphics makes a sim great, hope that those that liked the beta will enjoy the final version.

70€ for little to none offline and basic simulation with for me an not impressive online is to much...

Bye bye GT, was a pleasure until GT5,don't gonna miss you..

My next incoming driving game will be Pcars 2,that is the game i expected that GT once would be now in 2017.

Still hope that GT will make kids aficionate to the simracing world as it is a good entry level.

Yep, only 'kids' will enjoy GT Sport. Good one. Bye bye Donnced. We'll miss you.

In the middle I've said:

At Last I've said:

When i was a kid, thanks in part of GT 1,2,3 i get aficionate to the simracing world.

With 5 & mostly 6 i was looking out for more higher levels of simulation, and that i found on PC with RFACTOR2, ASSETTO & IRACING in a simulation center.
On my PS4 I've given an opportunity to pcars, and meanwhile it isn't on level with Rfactor 2, Assetto and iracing on some aspects, it's a huge step above GT.

I was hoping to see a good step in front form GT,but didn't come and Don't bring nothing that caught my attention really to buy the final version.

That you miss read what I've said is not my fault

I got my sportsmanship up to an A today, then got rammed of track by a couple of folks in my last race, which has me finish with a B.

Now it looks like the beta has ended for me about 25 minute early.

Oh well, it's been fun!

No more races for me to enter. The last two rounds were a blast. I absolutely love the fuel strategy races! Easy podiums for me, even after being crashed out.

I was punted off right at the start of the last race and rejoined in 16th after qualifying second. I put in a lot of consistent laps however, and ended up finishing nine-tenths behind second, who had run out of fuel.

It's a little sad it seems some of the folks that wait until they're lapped to try and take other cars out have migrated from Forza to GT.

I was wondering if some players didn't receive word about the fuel usage and map options being added. A few drivers kept circulating on track at minimal speed after just a few laps and never pitted. I had an incident with one of them at some point. Didn't expect him to dive to the apex as I was coming through.

edit: Nevermind. I just saw in another thread that there is no option to refuel. Still seems early in the races for people to run out, though.

At fuel map 1 and no regard for your rev range you run out pretty quick, if I remember correctly my SLS Gr.4 was drinking so fast it would've run dry around lap 7 or 8 of 20 on Brands Indy with max power mapping.

Unfortunately I didn't get a chance to try the fuel strategic racing in the last couple of days, however, I was surprised to find that my SR rating was demoted from S to A as I did not play the game !

Anyone experienced something similar? That's weird :boggled:

I just have to say this has been an unbelievably fun ride from start to finish. Not only did I get to play the game early and get a taste of whats to come, not only did I get to deliver feedback and be able to drive the newest cars and tracks, but I had the chance to watch the game slowly mould itself into Polyphony's vision, I got to experience the little tweaks, the big tweaks, the experiments, the ideas that PoDi performed throughout the beta, and I also got to meet some really cool people, and be starstruck; rubbing elbows with the top split drivers, and hell, even grabbing a few top 10 leaderboard spots myself.

I had the opportunity to help my favorite game franchise become even better, and for that, I am so grateful to have had the chance to participate in this beta, and I am so glad I had the chance to race with you all, so thanks everyone for making this experince so memorable.

See you in October!

Rank decay I assume. If that's a feature, it would give incentive for good players to keep playing.
