There is quite an amount of wishful thinking going on here. I don't how many times I've heard people say, "Just wait until release! X will be fixed! X feature will be there!" when things start looking disappointing and it turns out, whatever preview we saw was the real deal. We are three months from release. The footage we're seeing right now from Game Spot and IGN is likely what the final game will look exactly like or similar to. Not much time left to work on the game outside of ironing out any bugs and glitches.

If by some miracle I'm wrong and we get a full blown career, then you guys can throw tomatoes at me as much as you want. But we got a deeper look at the game and there is no proof whatsoever of offline race events, championships, and endurance races we would expect from a GT game. And making up some scenario that PD is still holding back Campaign Mode info isn't a strong argument.

You seem to be operating on the misguided impression that a few posters on GTPlanet are in some way reflective of how the general public perceive a game.

I would truly love to see you applying for a position in PR for a game developer.

"Yeah my marketing plan for your new game....we should release all the information about the game in one day about 9 months before release.....then just leave it at that."

I mean seriously......just go and check out any of the big gaming news websites....they are constantly talking about new information revealed about big titles.....the idea is to keep people talking about your game for a few months up to the release....

Did you honestly wonder why Forza are releasing information on their car list several dozen cars at a time every week up to release?

"OMG.....Forza doesn't have this one specific car I want....why don't they have it...why? why? why?......Why would they release a car list that doesn't have my favorite car???"

because they want to keep the game in players minds....they want people to keep noticing the game and build hype up until it's release....

If they released all the cars in one massive car list people would read that on one day and then forget about it......but release a new list every week.....and the gaming sites are talking about your game every week for a couple of months......

dude......this isn't rocket science.....it's how PR companies sell major titles.

Who said I was talking about GT forums? Everywhere you go people are saying the same thing...no campaign, no buy, and people still think iy is like prologue..as for your, it will be forgotten comment, that was dilusional..We already know waht forza will have...guess it will be forgotten lol. We already know forza has a full campaign like the other games....maybe they should cancel it right?

PD's handling, messaging of GT is incompetent, mixed messages (It is GT7, then it isn't, etc..), releasing Gt6 on ps3. Someone needs to fix this studio.

You guys are dilusional..yeah lets wait for it to release, just wait..you guys putting faith in Kaz are hilarious.

No one is saying they should reveal everything a year out and be done with it...but they just had a preview, with the major gaming sites, and we still don't even know if there are actual races against AI lol.

From the latest video:

  • Menus look slick and are nicely presented
  • Loads of decals for the livery editor and looking very high quality against Forza's version
  • AMG VGT road car in Gr. X may suggest all the VGT cars have been moved to Gr. X rather than mixed in with the other racing and road classes.
  • Campaign mode looks extremely poor with simply glorified licence tests.
  • I noticed that the number of vinyl layers for the body in the livery editor was only 300. If that's for just one side of the body or for the whole thing then that is very concerning for those who plan to make very highly detailed liveries, especially when the Forza editor can have up to 1000-3000 vinyl layers per side.

1 Chance of introducing rallycross to GT. Wasted on the old format circuit rally.

I saw GTSport as looks and fells amazing but lots of potential wasted.

Are these all the Ferrari's in the game? Yikes...

That's likely why they look so much clearer in comparison to Forza, a lack of layers and resources needed in return.

This might sound like a stupid question but will this game be playable offline or not? I don't mean just glorified licence tests but will there be a Career mode or similar? Or is just going to be racing against human opponents online? Btw if so, what happens if you don't have Playstation Plus? You're ******?

since disappointing campaign mode is out way. Let hope the online multiplayer is very good state at launch. It will be break it or make it on the review. It the most important part the future of the game. If Kaz pull W this **** out from the bag. It biggest w for them and if not, it will biggest L they land on. If land good review, Kaz able create good online racing game, this will be new type franchise and bring new young blood players to the community. I hope for the best and turn out well. I understand where hardcore fanbase coming from. Kaz seem one take risk, he want change the franchise. All I want this racing game doing and not wish to fail. If one fail other racing franchise will be lacking to create new thing. The competition will be lazy again. I wish nothing for the best for the community. My little though :)

Welp, this is genuinely even more disappointing than I thought it would be. The car list is pathetic, the track list is underwhelming and everything else just feels... rushed. I was semi expecting some surprises still to be revealed but no, this is... rather poor.

The real Photoshop simulator it indeed is, then.

A thread on the topic: https://www.gtplanet.net/forum/threads/event-creator-in-gtsport.357524/

It's where I'm looking to get my offline racing fix.

What I like is how they made this big headline news about another fantasy track and the older Civic Type R. Like, stand back guys! I think I'm going to keel over with excitement!!!!:bowdown:

Same....I just don't understand how the biggest selling racing franchise, took 4 years for this, when a damn kick starter did mire in 2 years.

It's scary how much SMS have done with Pcars 2 and with fewer resources and a much smaller studio. We know the full car and track list. Why are PD being so secretive with the last remaining 20 cars? Surely if some fans have been pondering if to get it or not, it would make sense to entice them more?

They (assuming you mean PD) didn't. We did. We combed through the new screenshots that were sent out and picked out the relevant new content.

That's extremely misleading. If you're talking about Project CARS, the first game entered into development way back in 2011. That'd make it... yep, four years before it released (with crowd funding). It'll be a bit over two years for its sequel, which admittedly has a whole ton of features/content. But it was working from the foundation of the original game.

Don't really see how it's mis-leading at all..I mean we are talking about a first party studio, that makes the biggest racing game around, versus a small studio who started a brand new IP off the ground, that started as a kick starter, and is releasing on PC, Xbox and PS4....putting out quality and more content...something has to be wrong with PD's tools, management, or resources or something, it simply doesn;t make sense.

Did more what? cars and tracks? true but the cars aren't of the same quality.
And if the visual quality of the cars is the main point for someone then GTS is a no brainer.

However outside of that PCars 2 appears to be shaping up better in just about every other area.

Which one will end up 'better' will be down to individual preference and what the final releases will be like.

I personally have them both pre-ordered and it will be interesting to compare them.

Both do stuff that the other doesn't. Which is why I asked what you meant by more? I think both will be incredible, but the drive by posts are getting old.

Mine wasn't a drive by post, so you are talking about nothing , and totally ignore the context of the discussion, and fell back on the "Drive by "post accusation.

Not sure why its a massive surprise that Campaign is basically Licenses test central. Its been clear from the beginning that this is an "E-Sports" Focused game (as has even been made evident in the Beta) so I never had such massive expectations for a Traditional GT Offline Mode. I'm honestly lost on how even you guys that played GT for a While didn't see this coming, the writing has been on the wall since the delay of the open beta.

Even knowing full well this isn't the traditional title of the past, I'm still getting it. I gathering my money and getting this pre-ordered along with PCARS 2. I got one game for my up to date racing needs and I got a GT Game (and finally, a game that I can create liveries and racing online without needing to give money to EA) so I'm pretty much liking what I see.

Oh the old Ferrari red joke.
With you're insistence on visual superiority(to a certain degree, only) it was probably inserted to point out the focus of the two games and your opinion on the subject. GTS obviously has high importance on visuals, where as PCars seems to be more reasonable in that department and balance out their game better.

Writing being on the wall automatically means that everyone should shut up about it? The writing on the wall is the exact reason its being discussed, and has been for a long while. It's a massive chunk of a game missing for some people, and that is making or breaking the game for some. Its a strong point of discussion for a reason.

.

which is a response to the "it has more cars argument". The focus of the two games is different (which is why I'm excited for both). But every time any new information about this game comes out, it's always the same response from a select few, PCARS 2 is fantastic and GTSport is terrible.
