Well GTS has been delayed until Friday for me thanks to local suppliers messing up.

One quick question. Is there motion blur on the standard PS4?
Im on a standard PS4, I haven't seen any, although I don't know weather or not you have to enable it in an options menu somewhere.

He's not wrong. Remember, gtplanet really doesn't accurately represent the GT buying public. We're the fringe fanatics, whereas most people couldn't care less about compression ratios, even those that are into cars.
And yet, with a couple of mouse clicks one could have the answer to any automotive question they wanted.

He is not wrong indeed, but it doesn't justify. Remove the old-style car tuning was not necessary, if people can't be bothered into looking and knowing what each part does, a simple "Quick Tune" option would have the same effect they tried to achieve by removing it.

Quick Tune 1, Quick Tune 2 and Quick Tune 3. There you go. If you're more into the knowledge, you still have the old style tuning. That is also a learning possibility for those who might get the interest sparked by the game, which happened to most of us.

It's not like you needed to understand the choices much in order to use upgrades - just pick what you can afford to get the most power. I'd understand if the reason given for removing upgrades was to be able to level out the fields better, which is why I had assumed the change was made.

Exactly!!!! 👍
How hard would that have been to implement? Not hard at all I would say. :boggled:
Geez, if you don't have the slightest interest in how a car even works, why bother buying a driving game? Makes no sense at all. :(

Which kinda brings back some foggy memories from GT5 and 6...... Were there not always "issues" regarding the car handling? Even after PD went to the trouble and cost to get KW suspension involved?? I seam to recall people always complaining that suspension was upside down with regard to how it "should" operate? And the woeful camber issues, remember those? LOL, maybe it was dropped because no one at PD knew how to set it up correctly? LMAO. :)

Yet the setup side of tuning is still in, which needs a lot more understanding!!!
Although, it's still rather artificial, so real world knowledge may not help anyway.

Quick Question, have any UK members received the GT:Sport Collectors Edition from Amazon at all today?
I got an email over night from them to say they were sorry they didn't have stock of the CE and expected to have it available on 20 October.

I'm not denying that it's lazy/something of a betrayal for the original fans that we're really into the tuning simulation side of things. He is right however, when he says that the vast majority of his audience aren't interested in that sort of thing. In my opinion the series is becoming incrementally less and less unique, which is sad, but as long as it has brilliant graphics, beautiful tracks, a good soundtrack and a few quirks thrown in, it's still GT.

“Twenty years ago, when we did the first Gran Turismo, people knew what happens when you change an air filter; people knew what increased compression ratios do to your car. But the new users don’t have that knowledge anymore because they’re not as interested in the cars, . :banghead:

Actually in today's world of most motorsports the class determines the hardware that a car runs and the highest paid guy and hardest position to fill on the race team is the guy standing there with the laptop hooked up to the cars computer programming the the GPS based traction control and fuel/timing mapped power delivery.
Race cars of today are not tuned today as in the old days, engine builders today build the engines as powerful as they can and stay within the hp limits imposed by the class and stay together and deliver up to that power over a race weekend distance or usage.
Tuning for a different track whether it be altitude, length configuration is done with gearing suspension and engine control computer mapping.

If you remember in the beta and the 30 lap endurance race you were given the option to adjust to different engine mapping to adjust fuel mileage which as a result of such change also adjusted power output. This is actually GTS bringing the franchise from the old days to current times.

Swapping parts is something a street guy may do today but a well financed race team is already running the best stuff the class allows, has their cars at maximum horsepower and minimum weight as allowed by the class and just tunes the power outputs to match the track and conditions. Also it is not unusual and in fact probably more common in today's racing that the individual race teams do not build their own engines but buy them from an outside source that specializes in that craft. So really part swapping is very old school and not prevalent today as in past decades.

I think it may be a possibility that we will see more of the "map" based tuning options as this is real world racing in today's times. Again if you look in the suspension tuning sections pretty much any adjustments that a race team may make to a car are available in the menu.
So rather than complain of what the franchise has taken out , marvel at how they are changing the game and staying abreast of current technology that is being used today in racing rather than what was common 20 years ago..

I saw someone post this link earlier because I asked the same question, judging by this the races only change weekly.. which sucks if it's true
That sucks... these small tracks are absolutely no fun to play. By next Tuesday I'll have finished all of the single player.. Why have them change daily in the beta and the demo only to be weekly in the full game. Smh.

Yeah it's weird, I was excited for 3 new races everybday, but they will become tedious over a week, I am 25% through the campaign already

All true and very realistic - if your game is full of nothing but current gen racecars. What happens when you include hundreds of cars as promised and you are "tuning" your 75' Camaro by driving it for a while and then "tuning" it by moving a menu slider? Bye bye realism.

I think this change has less to do with modernizing and more to do with dumbing the game down for the masses. 7-77 and all that jazz.

Really???
People aren't interested enough to know about this stuff? 🤬 Kaz, open your eyes mate. :banghead:
But..... They do the same in all the in between prologue type games....

Did you have any luck with your pre-order??

I didn't in the end mate.

Big Lesson learnt never to Pre Order anything from GAME.co.uk again & Amazon UK Strangely enough letting me down as well.

In the end I ordered the T-GT/Limited Edition GT Sport from GAME, & Collectors Edition of GT Sport & Limited Edition DS4 from Amazon UK.

And today I received nothing...

Complained to Amazon & They gave me a £50 Gift Credit so I could buy the Game Digitally at least. Meanwhile I have also Re-Ordered the T-GT from Amazon UK & That should be here for my birthday on Friday.

Did you get a refund from game? I had a nightmare getting refunds from them

Paid through PayPal so I'm safe. The Order Just cancelled so no money was Charged and they never dispatched the item according to them.

I vow to never Pre Order a game through them ever again. I used to work for that company many years ago and It's not the same company as It once was. It's basically Sports Direct service but with the GAME Logo over the top.

Hey guys, anybody knows how to sell the cars? I have some doubled because of getting them with both Collector's Edition and another code included (maybe EU bonus).

What are the strategies for these two endurances? In the Interlagos one, the Porsche passes me on the last lap, and on the tri oval, I can't catch the wrx.

For the older cars it will be different, as far as the game it will be a loss to a gear head that knows what the performance difference is between a 471 and 671 blower or a single or double plane intake.

But again for a race car even back in the old days the race teams ran whatever the best power making parts were available to run that were legal in the class. Back in the days when you were running a '70 AAR Cuda in the SCAA roadracing series there was not going to be one team that could bolt on a 6-71 blower and acid dip his car body and go blow the class away. The car had to be like all others and run weights and parts approved to be legal within the rules of the class.

So yes although in a prior edition of GT I had a tricked out fire breathing blown Challenger actually racing that on a roadracing track was more of bye bye realism.

So actually GT seems to be evolving away from a car collecting, building and modifying game to a class based roadracing car game. That may not be so bad for a racing game in a getting crowded market.

Got my Limited Edition today, how do I get my 500k credits?

Apologises if that's already been asked
