question from a GT aficionado, dealing with PS4 for the first time (bought it for GT, mostly):

will the UK GTSport Disc work with a european console? (and therefore its activation from the net)

Thanks
Should be, PS4 is region free but if you want to buy DLC you should use PSN account from the same region

Just get ps+ then? Most games are centered around online multiplayer so can't understand why anyone would have a PS4 with no ps+
Does not constitute a valid argument.
I've had a PS4 since September 1st, 2015 and still do not have PS+, haven't needed it so far, so why bother getting it?
I have played MGSV, TLOU, Hitman, Uncharted4, GhostRecon W/L, all without the necessity to buy an online account for PS+
My internet forebodes any such interest in anything "online", so I guess I'm sitting this game out. :(
I guess I'm just one of the minority who will never see how great the game is.

In Scapes you can switch the Safety lights on/off by going in to detailed settings. I got gifted this new one with mileage points.

i play only few games:GT;Batman Arkham Final Fantasy. I didn't buy the PS4 for its online components. But in this GT gamer now i have to fork out another 60 bucks per year?

No way getting around it bro. You have to buy a PS+ subscription. for online and other key benefits of the game. Same with most other games over the last couple years. I was in your boat too about a year ago and finally bit the bullet and took out one. May seem a bit expensive at first but worth it in the end. When you take out a PS+ subscription you also get entitled to major discounts on purchases from the Playstation store and other benefits. I took out an annual subscription one time so I wouldn't have to bother with renewing for a while. That would be my suggestion.

Japanese version limited edition unboxing
no steel case or car model for us this time(why? just why?)
instead, we get a big ass book(which I assume is the same one as you all get)
that contains

-the history of automobile in general
-techniques of driving and tuning your car
-the development of the whole vision gran turismo project
-a lot of car porn

don't know why the Japanese version feels so cheap this time around.

If the lights were just there for show and weren’t on, I’d understand him being disappointed, but it’s the fact that he can’t switch them off disappoints him is kinda weird to me, I dunno.

I guess it’s because he can’t create the complete cop roleplay in those cruise lobbies.

Its not about cop roleplay, its about realism.

We can control our turn signals, hazard lights and toggle between high/low beams. We can even flash our high beams. But we can't turn the constantly flashing lights off no matter what.

No real safety car has their warning lights on all the time.

Waiting in the pits during race for something to happen, lights on?

Nope, lights come on once the car is leaving the pits.

The caution period is coming to an end and safety car enters the pits, lights on?

Nope, the lights get turned off half a lap before the race is meant to resume and the safety car pulls to the pits.

The point is, we've had safety cars since GT4, and they have always had the lights flashing (except one point in GT6 when they didn't flash, until PD updated the game), and now that we have 3 new cars and buttons to control every other light on the cars, we still can't control the ones we hoped for.

On another important note...

Have the [safety car / full course yellow / proper flag rules] shenanigans (from the software itself) been ditched entirely after its showcase (in 2016?) or are there merely no races where these have been implemented?

How is this aspect in the custom lobbies - experiences?

Flag rules etc are in the game there is a option to turn them on in custom race

LOL at the GT Sport ads in the Champions League games.

Oh well I am getting GTS next week. I am searching for a store that actually has the game but nothing...

Has this been posted already? Interesting article about why is GT Mode missing. https://www.driving.co.uk/news/gran-turismo-boss-says-removed-gt-mode-gamers-losing-automotive-know/
Copy paste from the article if people don't wish to read it all. :)
“Twenty years ago, when we did the first Gran Turismo, people knew what happens when you change an air filter; people knew what increased compression ratios do to your car. But the new users don’t have that knowledge anymore because they’re not as interested in the cars, so we’ve simplified that area [of the game] so you can do the exact same thing you were doing in the past, but it’s more user-friendly for people just getting into cars.”
Really???
People aren't interested enough to know about this stuff? 🤬 Kaz, open your eyes mate. :banghead:

He's not wrong. Remember, gtplanet really doesn't accurately represent the GT buying public. We're the fringe fanatics, whereas most people couldn't care less about compression ratios, even those that are into cars.

That my friend is a shame

He is not wrong indeed, but it doesn't justify. Remove the old-style car tuning was not necessary, if people can't be bothered into looking and knowing what each part does, a simple "Quick Tune" option would have the same effect they tried to achieve by removing it.

Quick Tune 1, Quick Tune 2 and Quick Tune 3. There you go. If you're more into the knowledge, you still have the old style tuning. That is also a learning possibility for those who might get the interest sparked by the game, which happened to most of us.

Exactly!!!! 👍
How hard would that have been to implement? Not hard at all I would say. :boggled:
Geez, if you don't have the slightest interest in how a car even works, why bother buying a driving game? Makes no sense at all. :(

Which kinda brings back some foggy memories from GT5 and 6...... Were there not always "issues" regarding the car handling? Even after PD went to the trouble and cost to get KW suspension involved?? I seam to recall people always complaining that suspension was upside down with regard to how it "should" operate? And the woeful camber issues, remember those? LOL, maybe it was dropped because no one at PD knew how to set it up correctly? LMAO. :)

So I just picked up my pre-order from Smyths (regular edition) and apparently it comes with no pre-order codes. Quite annoyed, not sure how it can’t come with any since other games I’ve got from there have come with codes. Sigh. Well at least nothing is exclusive right (besides the helmet?)

I’ll check the receipt properly when I get home. Here’s hoping.
