Does that Mustang GR.3 road car, in the News feed, have a roll cage? Are there any GR.4 road cars?
No roll cage but, aside from the aero, the Gr. 3 road cars do still include race spec parts like the fuel intake, etc. Those exposed tubes aren’t something you would normally see on a road car so it’s pretty cool and nice detail.

As for the Gr. 4 cars, there’s no road car versions of them. They’re essentially tuned road cars with race spec aero and safety gear anyway. Much like your typical production race cars.

I wonder who is possibly the person behind the voice is since then because it sounds familiar to my ears. Not until yesterday I finally found a Tweet confirming that the person is Takahashi Rie (Rie Takahashi). She is one of popular voice actress/dubber in Japan. Maybe some of you who like anime, Japanese games and other related stuff might familiar with this name. Here is her own confirmation Tweet posted hours ago :
Megumin in GT Sport? O: Now I have to buy it.

Gr.4 race on Maggiore in a TT was the best I had in a while. Barely any SR deductions, as everybody was surprisingly civilised. Qualified 8th, and worked my way as high as 4th while having a great battle with an M4. Was a bit squirrelly at the last hairpin as I accrued 3 seconds for overtaking on a yellow (it was the guy who spun off), but it was good fun.

So how does the yellow flag system work here? I read somewhere on here it was broken?

I have twice passed a crashed car on yellows in sport mode, and not received penalties - warnings flashed up telling me not to overtake, i assumed that meant not to overtake other drivers?

IIRC, you don't get a penalty for passing the car which initially spun out, the penalty is given if you overtake the car immediately in front or behind the car which caused the yellow flag.

Gran Turismo just posted this on FB... does anyone think this is just general marketing or is PD legitimately asking its fans what they’d like to see (as in: they are open to suggestions and may put it into the game)

OK, let's start:
918 Hybrid
917K
962C LM
935/80
Cayman GT4
936
911 R
911 GT3 Race Car
718
911 GT2 RS
Carrera GT
911 Turbo

IIRC, you don't get a penalty for passing the car which initially spun out, the penalty is given if you overtake the car immediately in front or behind the car which caused the yellow flag.

Or if two cars have an incident, both fly off track, only one is registered with the yellow, and you continue to drive along because it's not anywhere to be seen, or one person is parked at the side of the track going no where for some reason. Take last turn on Big Willow just as an example of that situation.

Or if some cars have an incident, you instinctively react and avoid the incident as not to screw yourself over, and the yellow flag is triggered as you pass someone, therefore you had no idea it was coming.

There are various, unique situations where the system fails. Maybe uncommon, but they happen often enough and it's dumb. Whenever there are multi-car incidents in front of me, I have no idea who I can and cannot pass as cars are ghosted in and out, some are on track, some are off track etc etc.

Carrera GT

I salivate at the thought of driving the Carrera GT in Gran Turismo.

This is almost exactly what happened yesterday at Maggiore. The two Audi's which were in front of me looked like they were basically pitting each other off the track at the last hairpin. The one guy who got forced wide seemed to either serve his penalty immediately by just waiting for the seconds to count down before rejoining the track, or got a lighter sentence than me, because my penalty surplus was enough to drop me below him in the final standings. :irked:

How much fun was the Mini Countryman VGT One-Make, yesterday.

Only green (blue) SR after several races! THIS GAME IS JUST AWESOME!

Thx PD

I found the car a bit strange - really nice handling but the brakes weren't that good, I also noticed that you had to do some strange apexes in order to get the maximum exit speed.

True. But the fairness was awesome imO - and I was doing a few races.

First time I played GTS (Day One BD) I felt different pace in driving from previous GT; GT5 and GT6. It was a bit hard controlling the car; one second I missed when braking the car collapsed. I used to brake deep after late braking, that is my style of driving. There was no deep braking or the car would be much slower after coming out from the corner. I played by joystick so that time I thought GTS is made to play by wheels. And it was like Project Cars polished in GT graphic. So after the latest update I feel so much different, better, that the feel of Gran Turismo coming back.

Enjoyed my group 4 458 Italia 50 lap race on pro difficulty was good fun. Great track to with that huge banking. Had a lot of fun, hands a bit sore though.

Oh, I had my first disconnect yesterday in the Group 3 daily race at Maggiore... Annoyingly, I think my sportsman rating went down from a B to a C as a result. Why??? I had no choice but to quit the race!

Ok, wtf.... is the s-fr at brands a really bad combo or did they finally mess this game up for me. I can not seem to drive a full race without something happening that leaves me scratching my head and feeling like i just embarrassed myself.

I am not sure how to explain it. Maybe it's cuse i haven't driven the car before today, is it a little tricky?

I'd say jumping into a car you're not familiar with and expected the race to go smoothly might have something to do with it. Just a guess.

^ i follow the same routine with any car. New to me or not. Minimum 25 laps of practice before i hit the races. I hate being the guy who killed your race cuse he didn't practice.

What i mean is the consistency of feel from one lap to the next i suppose. I know i am not gonna be perfect, but i am seemingly having a hard time getting a grip on this car/track combo. And since they have been tweeking the game so much and did another last night i was just wondering if i was alone in my experiance this morning.

Thanks for the non helpful, slighlty condesceding response though.

You introduced your lack of experience with this combo with little other information so I took a guess. Practice makes perfect they say.

thanks, smart ass.

i presented my lack of experience so that someone who had more, with the car and/or track, might have some useful info they could share to help me modify my approach if that was the issue. you did not present anything other than a glib remark (twice), so why bother?

i guess i was stupid for expecting a real response. someone referencing that the car is bit tricky to get used to especially on the couple of tough turns that brands has, or that that they had been running with no issues.

not sure if it's just your style or what since i am the new guy, but i read many of your posts with the same snarky tone, am i wrong? do i just not get your sense of humor. i can honestly see my 13 year old nephew typing both of your responses this morning. all thats missing is git gud

Plot Twist: That IS your 13 year old nephew!!

I love the GT franchise from day one and what its trying to accomplish but I swear people take it so seriously sometimes. Enjoy the game, what 25 laps practice. Nobody cares if you suck, they will either knock you off track or pass you. Its a game at the end of the day, you are supposed to enjoy it, not look for micromanagement on forums. Sit in the car and go with the flow. I really dont know what kind of answer you expected. You cant put in writing how a car is supposed to be driven or how it feels. Its individual. Dont worry you wont be top 10 players in the world so relax and enjoy.
