I managed to meet a guy who wanted nothing more than to tank my SR rating... which he succeeded in doing so... so well done I guess??

I got rammed from behind going into a corner, got slammed into a wall and I get a bad SR and 10 seconds penalty lol while the other guy chill as a banana.

What’s annoyed me is now I’m racing with SRA guys and not S, which is where I’ve been for a few races now... one idiot and I’m back down...

He even ruined his own race, slowed down for me and then spent the rest of the time trying to take me out... if I dropped back down the pack I’d have lost DR...
 
So every time I went for a move, I would leave space all the time, get bumped into and my SR goes down... ok what ever...

Two laps where that happened maybe 3/4 Times... rest of the race I’m alone driving around on the track and my SR is going up... end the the race SR is red...

I worked so hard to get SR-S and now thanks to one idiot, I’m trapped in SR-A... this isn’t how this should work

SR-B now... through no fault of my own... get rammed from behind, loose SR, hit guy in front due to being rammed.. loose SR...

I’m done. Sport mode, unless your an alien is pointless.


It’s incredible how one person, SR ranked S managed to essentially ruin my rating.... and now I’m trapped with idiots who are incapable or unwilling to race fair or cleanly, which means I’m back to square one, letting everyone go past, ignoring my DR and slowly working my SR back from nothing... brilliant




Not one to give up, I start the grind back... start from the back allow to go away... cruising along, come up across someone over take them as they have just gone off and are rejoining the track. They ram me from behind... I loose SR... they loose SR... I then drive off... come up against someone who goes off again, rejoins, waits till I’m along side and then side swipes me... I loose SR he looses nothing...


Race ends and I’m SR-B red hahaha

I guess if I can’t get back up to SR-S or hell even A, I’ll just learn to game the system? I don’t know what PD wants from me or how I’m supposed to play the game... I leave space, I don’t dive bomb and I don’t ram people... but where’s that gotten me? Into one spec GR4 races and demoted constantly

I don't think this is GT7, I think it's a standalone spinoff for a dedicated GTAcadamy game. Sounds as if it exists for the sole purpose of esports racing and maybe scouting for GTAcadamy. This is very disappointing, I was hoping for GT7. I skipped out on 6 because I switched to PS4; I really am in withdrawal from not playing a GT game. And don't get me wrong, I'm very glad to see a game like this. Traditionally I have been very good a GT games, so this game seems right up my alley; but sometimes I just wanna cruise around in a car I own, or used to own, and just chill.

I've had very few clean races in Gr4 since it became all Meganes and Sciroccos, and some utterly horrific ones. Given up on them. Somehow I managed to retain SR S through that, but then I didn't try any at Alsace... FF's there just seems like it would be even more of a mess, a 'perfect storm' for losing SR :(

All I can say is stay away from Gr4 and stupidly low-powered one-makes, and hopefully the climb won't take too long.

On a related note, I wish they'd give us more one-make races using some of the N500 and N600 cars (Cobra, anyone?) because the GT-R one they did was great fun - and most of the 'dirty' was 10 seconds a lap slower!

Other than iRacing there are no other racing games that I know of that have a proper match making and ranking system that means you can have a good race whenever you want no matter how fast you are. At least that's the idea. It doesn't always work perfectly and people still find a way to drive somewhat badly, but it is far better than any other racing game out there without joining an organised series.
 
What is the best Gr. 4 car except the megane? I tried the RC F and Atenza and didn't like those two because I felt they understeered too much. I tried the McLaren and that seems pretty good but I was wondering if there was a better car than the 650S?
 
The Scirocco is a strong competitor to the Megane, almost just as good. If you're not feeling a VW you can opt for a Viper or 86. They do well enough, but not as strong as the above 2 I mentioned.
 
The Renault Megane Group 4 has bred it's own stereotype. The people that drive them are idiots; they aren't up the front because of skill but because of their car. I've been bumped off the track a few times by drivers in Meganes, who purposely go wide! Even though there is no reason to do so! Exhibit 1: I was driving my GT by Citroen and I had the lead going into The Chase at Bathurst. One guy in a Megane went up the inside which was fair enough, but another guy in a Megane took advantage of the situation and he pushed me off the track! Interestingly, I haven't had run-ins with Sciroccos...
 
I am sure a nerf for those is inbound or possibly a buff to other models, because if you look at the top guys in each region, they have basically resigned themselves to Renault or VW to win :(

As for constantly losing SR to being bumped, I don't buy this outright. I have rubbed a few cars around corners, and flat out smashed others off course who were either weaving under brakes, braking way too early or something else not consistent and didn't lose any SR at all.

I think half of the gripes are possibly system based but the other half are people who refuse to be even a tiny bit objective about their race craft....
 
I tried both in Sport mode, the Megane for me is better. It turns way tighter than the Scirocco and is faster uphill. It really is an overpowered car, lambos, ferraris, GTRs, mclaren etc...everybody was left in the dust. If it was a longer straight they would catch up but in corners the megane just flys through. Half the time all I need to do is let go of the gas, not even break.
 
Must be something in the code or Renault are paying off developers. I've found the Megane TCC in Project Cars 2, to be the fastest and best handling Touring Car.

Is that a thing? Developers being bribed by manufacturers to make their cars faster? For a game like GT Sport which is supposed to be competitive, this being true immediately undermines its viability as a competitive game

They should add a Gr.4 version of the civic type r so the megane will have something to compete with! Or even better the 2017 type r!

Managed to get back to A through just chilling with that Mini, tho I still have people ramming me off the road.. ‘SR-A’..

I agree if PD remove penalty if we got bumped. Players behind has to be aware their gas and distance and whenever ready to brake or deep brake.

I was doing dailies on Suzuka with Scirocco and Meganes are really fast on the straights, I couldn't attempt pass from the slipstream because I was hardly keeping up with them in uphill section, also they seems to be faster in hairpin.

I understand bumping someone off who is driving the normal line and braking at the appropriate distance, however in those cases the drivers in front were weaving under brakes (not allowed) and others braking so early you would basically consider it a brake check because it was totally out of rhythm for the lap.

I am glad PD changed the SR system to understand these kinds of dirty tactics. I never feel good about knocking another driver of course, but I don't appreciate being caught off guard with brake checks or changing the line under braking to defend.
 
Circuit experience gives you so much cash it's hilarious. I also got 2 vision GT cars in less than 5 minutes

I now have 3 Vision GT Cars from Circuit Experience

I finally got a podium finish! I qualified in 3rd and finished 3rd but I held second for a lap because the Ferrari in front of me braked extremely early and I had to cut inside and I think I made contact but my SR didn't go down. Anyway karma kinda bit me in the rear end and I went off the track at the EXACT same location as they did and couldn't come back. Oh well.

And guess the car that was in first place :grumpy:

I love the scriocco (or however you spell it.) It's quick on the straights and takes corners well. It's no megane but I believe once polyphony nerfs the megane it'll severely cripple it.
