And one GR3 race this morning, from the back... SR-S again! ...but now I have to work on repairing the damage to my DR...

Cool :) I did loads of the S-FR Racing Concept at Brands last night and now on the verge of becoming DR A. I would've had a 'clean races' of 8 by the end, apart from one incident on the sixth race where I had to swerve to avoid someone spinning out, and went just a tiny bit wide as a result. So annoying. That Achievement is so damn hard when you tend to start mid-pack! But yeah, a decent one-make on a decent track can be pretty good for boosting up. Gr3 can be a bit hit-or-miss, at Suzuka I find I do well in the race, but it often hurts my SR, just with little bumps here and there.

Yeah I was surprised how much fun it was to race and was desperate to set a quali lap as I was easily within the top 3 lap time wise.... if it was a 10 lap race tho it would have been better.... tho that goes I think for all Sport races

It's certainly more interesting when the tyres are wearing down a bit! Simply staying on track is usually good for a position or two gained  but that comes with a risk, of course, at least at my level. My quali with the S-FR was about 1 sec outside the top ten

And guess the car that was in first place :grumpy:

I love the scriocco (or however you spell it.)

In GR4 both the Megane AND THE Scirocco both are overpowered compared to most of the other cars in the class and need to be nerfed.

Depends on the track but some tracks it is pretty close between those two and other tracks like Suzuka with not one but two long straights the Megane carries the clear advantage there.
When I looked earlier at today's top 10 lap time leader board for the North American Servers in the GR4 race at Suzuka 9 of the top 10 places were Megane's with 1 Scirocco in the mix.

I am only a mid level driver and trying both cars on the qualifying time trials for the race I was able to easily lap a full second quicker in the Megane over the Scirocco and was within 3 seconds of the top ten leader board using no aids except default ABS.

The other day in a test of the same two cars on a different track I was about 1/2 a second quicker in the lap time but could not maintain constant consistent lap lap times with the Megane and over a race distance I was better off with the Scirocco as I could run more consistant times.

I did not see the same problem being consistent on the Suzuka track today with the Megane.

GR4 at the present time has serious BOP issues that need to be fixed mainly with the Megane and Scirocco need to be nerfed.

Finally got around to trying out sport mode this morning. Did 3 daily races at Nurburgring GP. Went much better than expected, as everyone up front raced really clean.

My only complaint about this game is the numb/lifeless FFB.

I understand bumping someone off who is driving the normal line and braking at the appropriate distance, however in those cases the drivers in front were weaving under brakes (not allowed) and others braking so early you would basically consider it a brake check because it was totally out of rhythm for the lap.

I am glad PD changed the SR system to understand these kinds of dirty tactics. I never feel good about knocking another driver of course, but I don't appreciate being caught off guard with brake checks or changing the line under braking to defend.

About that dirty tactics, it seems complicated based on my opinion before about removing the penalty. So this is the use of real / full damage. There is no chance if in sport mode it is activated. When I played in lobbies, not many even almost none of players activated this option. For me not just racing clean is fun but real damage too. Also it will increase awareness of each player in the race.

People keep ramming me in the side and I GET PENALISED?

I am clearly infront and they just run into me and overtake my spot and get NO penalty whatsoever... Pathetic! :grumpy:

Does anyone know a way to disable the auto ‘hello’ that appears in the chat before online races ? We’re racing, it’a not a damn tea party... and yes I am a unsociable bastard :ouch:

My profile, top left there is a settings circle, "lobby entry and match greeting" option. 👍

Just made 3 sport mode races (Gr.3 at Nurb GP). Won 2 - with fastest lap and pole - and finished 3rd on the 3rd one after starting in 6th.

My DR progress went up by around 10%. O.o Good to see PD changed it. Last time I had entered a sport mode race was Mount Panorama (Season 2 FIA Manufacturers championships) and back then a win, pole + fastest lap would increase the DR progress bar by maybe a pixel, literally.

A few more races and I'll be DR S I guess.

I'm still hoping for a penalty system overhaul.

Hehe, I was in the first two I think; I remember your name from at least one of them. I tried to enter a third race at 20:00 (UK) and got a network error and then my PS4 crashed completely (had to unplug it), which was fun.

I used the Nismo GTR first race, which was really difficult to drive in acceleration zones, and then the Merc AMG in the second. Most people were using the 911, which is a car that personally I don't like so much, but it's pretty frustrating watching people around you pulling away in it.

I got an error too and had to skip the 20h00 (GMT) race too. :/

Yes, the 911 is a great car around Nurb GP and it's a joy to drive imo. Way back when sport mode had weekly races I pretty much made my way into DR A (almost S) with a GTR. But I guess with the latest updates the car is not as good as it was. I don't know because I haven't tested it since then. :)

Are there any other Gr.3 cars you would recommend to be the most competitive? (apart from the Beetle...ughh)

I didn't test them all but it looks like the RCZ, Citroen and Viper are good. If the aliens are using them, it's a sign they're good. :)

I'm sitting on 3 mill.
I really want the LaFerrari but at the same time I'd hate to spend money and get it through the daily bonuses & campaign missions lol

I'll probably wait for the Enzo :)

I have gotten 2 of those (La Ferrari) so far as either a prize or gift car and currently have no interest in driving them at all.
i think ill finish circuit experience and if i dont get them then I'll buy one myself.

I've finished driving school and the other one already

So today's daily races: 2 one make and 1 Gr.4. Really PD? Gr.4's BoP is broken and there's no Gr.3 races. Great. I guess I won't race today.

1 one make race should be enough. I like Gr.3 10 lap races. Gr.4 is just stupid at this point with Meganes and Siroccos making entire grids.
