The odd bit is how the PS4K will handle 1080p titles when connected to 1080p tv, will there be boost in performance ? If devs need to put a patch to unlock the boost in performance, I doubt many devs will do it. This also means the PS4K may have discreet hardware profile for 1080p titles ( non 4K titles ) which locks it performance similar to regular PS4 and needs special tweak by devs to unlock it.

If dev like SMS decide to put a patch for PS4K running Pcars on 1080p tv, we may see better fps when doing full grid races with weather ( in extreme load condition ), while when upscaled to 4K, we may see similar performance to PS4 running in 1080p, depending on how well the PS4K upscale games with high graphic load. I think devs would need a patch for 4k upscale as well ( for older 1080p titles released before PS4K ), so maybe SMS will have PS4K dev kit already and doing a patch now :P

If they make a patch for that but do nothing about the tire heat glitch...

There you go, as you can see not a great difference at all. So a slightly better resolution and frame rate but no differenc in how the game looks.

  I hope that a joke mate! A resolution and frame rate difference won't matter!

Not in the grand scheme of things no. The resolution difference is similar to the difference we see this gen between Xbone and PS4.

There you go not a huge difference.

And an increase in frame rate whilst nice doesn't greatly effect graphical quality just how smoothly the exact same graphics look.

Like I said smoother but not a night and day difference.

If we were talking about an extra ultra 4K setting for each in game 'slider' then you might have a point but we are not. In fact to truly run games in 4K the PS4K would probably have to reduce some graphical effects compared to the current 1080p on PS4. A doubling of graphical power isn't really all that when you talking about having to push 4K.

Ok maybe it's a silly comment. We can assume that in GT sport there will be some gt300, gte, gt3, gt500 and lmp2.
For instance gt300 cars are faster than gte at Fuji, the only track shared by these two categories. If I was the FIA, I won't like seeing my top endurance car beaten by gt300.
(But coherence is not the biggest problem for PD when you see gtsport trailer : lmp1, gt3 and a vgt on the nurb...)

I'm curious to see how close to real rules the game is tbh... I mean the trailer had them all mixed in as you said, but we also know that there are at least a few road going cars based on the trailer as well. Again, I'm pretty confused as to how GT Sport is actually going to be different that GT 7 aside from FIA Sanctioned events.

I'd think the short races will be single class,
But for endurance, then you will see multi-class events.

I'm still confident that GT Sport will not have the scale of "road car" content that you get in a GTx title
It will be purely be Racing (Sport) focused.

Pretty sure that was just to show off some of the cars.

I agree too that we won't see road cars on the same scale as GT 7, but it's still odd to me that they are there at all figuring what GT Sport is supposed to represent.

Just a random thought, might be completely irrelevant though. If that's the case, sorry for pratting about with it. 👍

But, I've just stumbled across the following Instagram post. It was posted by the Petersen Automotive Museum, and the caption says "Our Jaguar XJ220 is going digital!" Just wondering for what game it could be, and, if so, if it's been rescanned for (let's call it a certain game, you all know which one) to get a premium upgrade (if it's even neccessary to do that)? And, before you say "Probably for Driveclub", the post is two days old.

Between Suzuka, Fuji, Motegi and the spotted Autopolis, they'd be halfway, 3 more tracks, from being able to run a proper Super GT season.

They are a Paul Ricard away from allowing a Blancpain Endurance season.

And they are halfway from being able to run a proper FIA WEC with four tracks missing.

Even though I don't really enjoy Bahrein or Mexico's track, it would be cool if they made the effort. Having these mock events (along with PPIHC!) going on together with whatever "FIA Online" ones would be fun.

And my guess would be that they'll give preference for Grade 1 and 2 (since those just can't have F1 basically) tracks representation, so they can run anything at any configuration, even though Nordschleife and Bathurst are Grade 3.

Since taping the car with a mesh is not really a method of digitizing, that's just about painting the car to look like half of a digital model. Probably some "cars and computers" exhibition.

I guarantee for obvious reasons, that it is no longer relevant to even say.

Driveclub is still getting support, but to what extent, I'm not sure.

But if that car is covered in tape (the instagram post doesn't show for me), then it's not being scanned at all for any game.

Definitely trading in my old PS4 for the PS4K, which is like the PS4 but supercharged ;)

I think its pretty sweet the next GT will be able to take advantage of all the extra horsepower under its hood

The question is there will even be a trade-in program. Not sure if any gaming stores like GameStop is going to do anything like it but still.

I didn't think any of this was even confirmed to be happening at all, except for GT Sport being a game...

Oh Im sure they will, and I expect it be a pretty decent deal, like maybe $170 if you trade in an old PS4 towards the PS4K.

Considering the PS4 will be over 3 years old by then, getting almost 50% back of its original price is a pretty good deal

Right now for a 500Gb black Ps4, GameStop will give you $200 towards a trade or $160 cash. Once they start taking preorders for the Ps4.5, you better trade your system in quick. That numbers going to go down a bunch if everyone starts trading their's in, even before the Ps4.5 is released. Especially if they drop the price on a new standard Ps4 when the Ps4.5 comes out.

Actually, it is a method.

I stand corrected!

Interesting how it's a basic mesh modeling like you'd do in a 3d application, but using a CMM - coordinate measurement machine - over the "real-life" mesh model vertices to get a precise model from that.
