Let goo, congrats to the whole PD team working hard on audio department of the game. 👍
Let's hope it doesn't take 5 years for PD to put it in...Seems like this is our SEMA GT Awards winner
GTS got an award for best audio desing

What a sad guyThat 'Gran Turismo Sport is BAD' twitter account tho

I personally like the audio design in GTSport not just the actual car engine sound but other small details they added. IMO, they have one the best fly by sounds in racing game. I still think they need to work on improving the car engine sounds because some of it are very flat and lack any ferociousness of a real car
The Flyby sound is one of the points I believe Polyphony should work at mostly if I am not mistaken the Doppler effect was spot on in GT6 just missing that ambient reverb.IMO, they have one the best fly by sounds in racing game. I agree with this, as well as the message he quoted above. In-game engine sounds should be delivered right and accurately, especially since it's already 2018. Should we expect less for this era? Many of us who have played the first game of the series should know what I'm saying or talking about. The Flyby sound is one of the points I believe Polyphony should work at mostly if I am not mistaken the Doppler effect was spot on in GT6 just missing that ambient reverb.
The way it sounds in GT Sport is like the car is in some sort of weird tunnel that muffles the actual engine tone thus making it sound a bit weird imo.
R3E seems to get the reverb mix much better compared to GT Sport (not that it is bad either tho).
However you only hear the car engine roaring through the road as it fly by, what GT Sport does right is mixing it with ambient sound effects birds chirping, helicopters, people cheering etc..but reverb still needs a bit more work to mix with the doppler effect.
But for the series itself I say it is finally acceptable, but the competition are slowly getting away with more mean and ferrocious engine sounds.
Playing it a while back I gotta say (GT1-3) I was still a kid and I thought it was the most realistic sound ever..I agree with this, as well as the message he quoted above. And not to mention those turbodiesel race cars lol like the 908 HDI or the R10/R18. They sound so awful in the past games like GT5 and GT6. Hope they get it right in the future, if they'll release GT7.Playing it a while back I gotta say (GT1-3) I was still a kid and I thought it was the most realistic sound ever..
Upon Forza's release and the rivalry started I realised how wrong I was in the most realistic sound ever..
So for a 2018 standard I give credit to where it's due , engine tone accuracy they are getting there.. but still not there.
I mean seriously make that V12 scream like it is supposed to!
Hear the roar of the V8's!
Make that rotary engine (787B) screech all the way untill my ears start to bleed.. etc etc...
The brutality of these beasts is what's missing... IMO.
This is literally the biggest grind I have now.. while I like the nice downshift whine in the r18 e tron quattro, the backfire sounds puts me completely off and breaks the illusion of driving a V6-Turbo diesel engine. And not to mention those turbodiesel race cars lol like the 908 HDI or the R10/R18. Well and truly. It's more a case of seeing them before you hear them...I saw some of those turbodiesels race back in the ALMS days at Sebring and Road Atlanta. A friend of mine is a race photographer for some of the teams, and we could hear the gasoline powered prototypes coming over a corner away, but the turbodiesels could sneak up on you before you are ready for the shot!
Lol. Funny how those oil burners spit out flame when it shouldn't be like that at all. This is literally the biggest grind I have now.. while I like the nice downshift whine in the r18 e tron quattro, the backfire sounds puts me completely off and breaks the illusion of driving a V6-Turbo diesel engine.
Same goes for V12-Twin Turbo Diesel engine from the 908.
Yes, you can, but the profile with PSN Plus need to be the main PS4Is it possible to make another PSN account and not pay for a subscription? Wanna make another account to play daily races on
Or just change the balance of power...Having abit of a think after doing GR.1 races at Le Mans (where surprisingly, most of the field now seem to go with LMP1s regularly), I definitely think its time for a somewhat restructure of the GR.1 class, only major thing that has changed with has been the additions of cars and some of those cars have thrown BOP way off course. Obviously this has been bought up many times at this point, but the performance of the LMP1 Hybrids (With their peak power coming from the unit) against cars that are powerful without assist is the main issue. Its simply mismatched cars in terms of performance regardless which of those two do NOT fall into LMP1 HY (Be it VGTs or Group Cs). Hell, even the Diesel LMP1s can out drag them thanks to the mountain of torque they have, which also has them whizzing past without much effort. I'm thinking GR.1 should be divided into sub categories, which would include:
GR.1 HY: For the WEC LMP1 Hybrids
GR.1 CL: CL standing for "Classic", this would be for Group C Cars
GR.1 VGT: For Vision GT cars modified for racing
That would be my idea anyway. Probably far from the perfect solution.
Is Kazunori even aware of the misunderstanding of Laguna Seca????

Agreed, they should bring back the old LMP900 from GT6 (Bentley Speed 8, BMW V12 LMR, the Pescarolos, Toyota GTOne etc.) and form the Gr.1 with only LMP1s and LMP900 from now onHaving abit of a think after doing GR.1 races at Le Mans (where surprisingly, most of the field now seem to go with LMP1s regularly), I definitely think its time for a somewhat restructure of the GR.1 class, only major thing that has changed with has been the additions of cars and some of those cars have thrown BOP way off course. Oh that's a thing on paddle shifter cars that's been a thing since atleast GT5.Guys, did any of you encounter this glitch? Don't want to create a separate thread for that, so gonna post it here
On a high horsepower cars (like pretty much any car N800 or higher), when you're standing still and you release the brake, the car starts to drive by itself at around 8-10 km/h. I have no idea why it does that. Low-to-mid horsepower cars are unaffected by this. And i am definitely sure that my gamepad's R2 isn't offset or broken, because i tested three different DS4 gamepads (one of them was brand new, out of the box) and it did the same thing on all of it

Yeah I guess its a quirk of automatic transmission cars in the games. If you let off the brakes and don't activate the handbrake they creep forward at around that speed because they're in gear.Since GT5!?
Actually i am somehow not surprised by this fact. Just PD things
