Beat people. The more people you beat, and the higher their DR, the better.

Which update was it that dummied down the difficulty of the Driving Challenges to almost non-existent? If it occurred long ago, then it appears I missed it. For example, the checkpoint time rallies at Tokyo Expressway with the GT-R and at Fisherman's Ranch with the Lancer Gr.B Rally Car give you zero penalties anymore for making any kind of mistakes, hitting the wall, charging into other cars, et cetera...

A friend of mine challenged me to beat his high score in both of these challenges, only to watch the replays he published (due to him getting a rather high score on both challenges) and observing that he was abusing wall-riding and using other cars on the course as turning/braking assists. A shame, because I really enjoyed these challenges, but the actual difficulty behind them seems to have all but vanished.

Man, that was forever ago, roughly a month after launch, too. Kind of a shame; it reminds me of early GT5, where before they updated the game, it used to be a significantly harder game, with much harsher failure conditions for the challenges, even just making the tiniest bit of contact with another car will disqualify you. Then the updates came and the difficulty of the game's challenges was significantly decreased.

Makes me wonder if this will happen in the next GT game. Too bad this happened so early in the game's lifetime because back then on the earlier versions, the physics model had the Mazda Roadster experiencing hilarious amounts of oversteer.

I can't remember if someone answered this already, but is the fact that the Aston Martin Vulcan has seemingly bad brakes in GTS a realistic depiction of its real-world braking abilities? I can't say I'd really know. Is the Vulcan's depiction in GTS a realistic one in general?

No, PD just did the car dirty by putting it in N-Class at all, especially considering the fact that other trackday cars like the P1 GTR and Zonda R have much higher downforce values for what they actually are since they're in Gr.X.

Anyone ever thought to explore GT SPORT menu screens using your mouse...?

Looks like GT SPORT and mouse are so compatible.
But be careful. Before you use your mouse, you have to move the cursor with left stick and make the cursor free, being not stuck in screen buttons because of control by D-pad.

Hey guys, I have a question about the Manufacturer Series. I'm not competing in it and I'm not planning to do so. My question only concerns the prize money and Mileage Points you get rewarded when your country or Manufacturer wins. If I view the global points ranking just before the final round and sign up for the manufacturer that ends up coming first overall will I then get the rewards? (Assuming of course I haven't signed up for any manufacturer yet)

If yes, the current global ranking shows that with two more rounds to go, Porsche is in the lead. However in my region (EMEA) Lamborghini is currently the leader. Which leaderboard gets applied to determine whether you're eligible for the rewards?

I believe the rewards are applied by region. Not sure about the last race thing either, but it's worth a shot

Mouse support was introduced all the way back in Gran Turismo 4. Not sure if it was in GT5 or GT6. Surprised me when I found out; interesting to see it still functional in this game.

To be more specific, the Vulcan's downforce values are shown as absolutely none at the front and 200 at the rear, the latter being less than half as much as the freaking Gr.4 cars. They did this car dirty indeed. They treated the Amuse S2000 better giving it 400 at the back and 150 at the front but that's still less than the Gr.4 cars, most of which are much less aerodynamically complex.

Even in Gran Turismo 4!?
I'm so surprised.
Yes but actually no.

The mouse input basically emulates left joystick on the menus. Try move the left joystick at GT4/5/6 and then try it for GTSport and just see the difference.

GT4/5/6 input is essentially just emulating the Dpad input, while GTSport finally have a freedom to move the cursor around like the real desktop.

Also in GTSport while using the mouse, the cursor is actually move much faster ala desktop (depending on your mouse DPI but it's generally faster than precise but slower left joystick counterpart).

Add also a keyboard to get the full PC experience.

Thanks, I understood.
As you can see in the clip above, you can move the cursor so fast. That looks really good.

The lago maggiore 1st layout track is really nicely designed, fun challenging fast sweepers with elevation changes and good looking.
Was running on it with the old e-type coupe, also nice handling challenging to drive fast.
I wonder if the other old original tracks like deep forest and mountain trial are as fun? Was there other fantasy tracks that are missing too?
It's a change from always same real tracks that we get to know by heart.
I wish the custom races could be set with opponents of your choice. The default selection by the game is ridiculous often. And often puts cars like the x-bow to be the front runner or any unusual modded car that doesn't fit in.
