So, the many pace cars in this game...were they planned from the beginning to be cop cars for those lobbies? If so, that's a cool accomodation by PD acknowledging that that's a popular genre in the lobbies but if not, I'm a little confused by their decision to add even more (the yellow ones), reminding us that they're not being utilized like they're intended. If it's a scrapped implementation, you'd think they'd just let the idea slip under the rug.

I think you put more thought in your one paragraph than PD has in their entirety.

They are just trophy cars. You know this because they had this for decades...

PD has a lot of assets that we all love but their implementation is extremely poor.

I would expect them to at least use the safety cars to start races and perhaps run them in yellow flag conditions but that would be over the top.

You're probably right. The "Sport" aspect they were going for probably wasn't going well ratings-wise so they decided to add GT League and random road cars to get that GT feel back. It's not out of place to have cars like these just to have and take pictures of with the familiar direction the game went.

They're not really trophy cars though if you can buy them for 5k MI. Only the GT-R is a trophy car really.

I do get ya, they arent a 'prize' but the fact they rotate on a periodical sale basis and you can only buy them by 'driving' and not with cash means they arent a 'normal' purchase.

But since they are Gr.X its a moot point.

People who repost enough things to fill your whole activity feed are the scum of the earth. Reposting a few things is cool reposting 50+ is not..
Agreed. But luckily you can unfollow those scum though. :P

I used to be like that, but then with so many people reposting things I decided to back off a bit and limit myself to a few reposts a day.

I do get your point however you kind of have to look at things wholistically AND ask where companies get their revenue.

For Adobe they worked out that subscriptions would net more money than regularly paying for software... eg. Linus Media pays $10k a year for Creative cloud products.

For Microsoft, making Win10 a rolling "work in progress" means they can push ads and their store AND their model is moving away from o/s editions anyway.

But what of Sony and PD? What has changed in their revenue model?

I'm going to say that this is still uncertain.

Turn10 is full in on the EA 18 month to 2yr new game + DLC + VIP + car pass etc.

So far PD has only gone the GT Sport game + Hamilton + car mtx.

I'm not sure how they are monetizing GT7 over that entire generation if that's their plan.

I don't know about PD but SONY has pushed for an increase in game pricing. All games will be $70 now instead of $50-60. They might even increase the price of PS Plus, but I honestly hope they don't. It might put off some of the fanbase more than they already have.

Maybe to reflect this $10 increase, PD will not push for paid DLC? I don't know either. I also don't know how offshoring vehicle modeling will affect their pricing.

What happened to the "Invalidate time" option for time penalties in time trial mode? The description mentions it but there is no option.

I think you see it when you are online driving a time trial, qualification time trial, or actual qualification during an FIA event. If you cross the finish line with an active penalty time remaining your time shows up in a red color and is not computed as a valid time. I don't think it is valid option when you run an offline time trial (even with penalties turned on). I could be wrong, if so please let me know.

Is there any good reason why Suzuka West isn't used? I think it's a better track for racing than Suzuka East.
It is weird that Suzuka West was a one game thing. I would say it's because of the pit lane but there are tracks with nonsensical and just as small pit lanes so I doubt that's it. Maybe they were too lazy to make another pit animation lol

I'm pretty sure GT5/6 had east and west.

This is what puzzles me. Surely the cheapest way to bump up track numbers is to include smaller club circuits like the Catalyuna and Bugatti Le Mans mini circuits. Thats what Forza does, And yet...

It doesn't make sense for Suzuka West especially because the pitlane is bigger than at Goodwood, and they bothered to model Horse Thief Mile and Streets of Willow which are both terrible.

The Nurburgring Club circuit is another layout that could easily be utilised along with Catalunya.

Only GT4 had Suzuka West.

I miss the GT layout of the Nurburgring. I put a lot of miles on that layout back when GT5 held seasonals there.

Finally ! I just get my 4th diamond in the Hamilton Challenge at Lago Maggiore, it was hard !!! (my other 3 diamonds are in dragon trail, Monza and Nordschleiffe)

After that I had some relaxing driving against the IA with rain (N500 vs N700)
With no hud information and the right joystick blocked 90% to the back (less ceiling and more cockpit view) :

Congrats! 👍

Is it just me or is this game unstable? I've had it crash three times already in the last week. Once when trying to go into 'discover', once when exiting a race, and then last time was 10 minutes go when I was actually driving.

I don't remember having these problems with GT6.
