Ah oops, I only skimmed it and misread the part about "his colleagues" as meaning they were driving in his absence. Reading it properly I see he was there.

I read it as sarcasm anyway.

You could have got away with that!

How hard will you laugh if your sarcastic prophecy comes to pass?
Pfft, depends really. :sly: I'm mean after how long many people had to wait for GT5, and experiencing its result 5 years later, I don't even know anymore because PD.

If only. *Sniff* If only there was a miracle...

I do also think it was very curious that it wasn't (AFAIK) mentioned at all by Sony during all of their PSVR stuff at GDC in March, bearing in mind of course they obviously knew they were closing down Evolution a week or so afterwards.

I know VR on GTS had already been confirmed before that but why not even throw up the logo, even if they weren't going to show it off on the 'old' PS4?

Are those all games that are planning to support PSVR at launch? If so that could explain GTS's absence. I don't think we've been given any indication so far whether GTS will support PSVR at launch or it'll be another "included in a future update" type deal.

I don't think PD can keep up with modern times. They're like, beyond behind the competition to the point you forget they even exist. Hell even I forget about them most of the time because they barely say anything.

For crying out loud I have to go on GTPlanet to find out if they still exist or not. Lmao

You don't say.

@Samus More than one title was showcased at Paris, and knowing that the game would soon be playable (if only under a testing form) could have secured/confirmed a few purchase decisions.

I don’t want to restart an unnecessary debate, but Sony always announced Spring 2016 for the Beta release. E3 is within that timeframe.

As for VR, and correct me if I’m wrong, it seems PD said they were working on the feature but never confirmed it as such(?). I'm still skeptical they can achieve GT Sport VR on the Base PS4 model, unless they shrink down the gameplay and or assets in a substantial way. Knowing that no exclusive can be brought to Neo, assuring that compatibility may be a cause for trouble.
They could theoretically do a mode with four racing cars on track running at 30 fps on the base ps4 and then release a 16 car on track running at 60 mode on neo. That is exactly the problem with this. According to the rumour there are rules like the neo port has to run better than base ps4 games, no exclusive features are allowed, and so on, but no rule for ps4 base port not beeing laughable bad. Those modes just have to be in there.

All i gotta say is that if we don't see gtsport or 7 or whatever at e3, im just gonna laugh. I barley been paying attention to this part of the forums anyway because it's plenty of great racing games out there that i been enjoying/i im gonna be buying soon. You got a big fan base and you give no them no update????:odd:

Yeah, and every guy who likes the GT games and doesnt rant every day is a deluded fool, i know..

No they're not who said this? Once again let's simplify it. There are two extremes, those that believe PD is doing wrong and is like an 18th century monarchy trying to work in modern times. Then there is the other extreme, where people see nothing wrong most days and think GTs shortcoming are in reality some of their best days.

Then there is the middle that varies in degrees, where you have people that are satisified but understand there are issues that can be fixed, which is fine. There are also guys who don't see it either way and just see it as half and half. Finally the critical crowd, those who believe GT has issues, but can fix them but still wonder why exactly it's taking so long. If someone is of the two extremes and they don't like your view, simply ignore them because they're just fanatical to begin with, but don't paint a broad picture like it's the reality of things.

Where has that come from and why is there what appears to be a watermark on it?
Looks like the official GT Facebook page. I've had dealings with them before. But that still doesn't answer the question of the watermark.

Well I know that's what it's supposedly from yeah, but it's easy to fake.

You think it might be fake? An old message?

Does seem suspicious that the FB has suddenly come out with a definitive statement like that, given his past.

If a majority of games end up simply - as some are suggesting - running better (say locked 60 with few little extra bells and whistles) due to the beefier GPU then this wouldn’t possibly be to much of a deal and you could reasonably classify the case under the march of progress. Already, the more hardcore players - could be shooters or racers - will probably raise the fact that higher frame rate is a must and impacts gameplay on its own.

The leaked guidelines of Sony PS4 equity do however raise a few further questions indeed. Like you point, it seems developers just have to box-check the list of features they bring to both consoles with not much more constrain.

Eurogamer
  • Developers cannot supply exclusive gameplay features for Neo owners. If the game has a split-screen mode, it must be available on both systems. However, modes can be enhanced - so a two-player split-screen mode on PS4 could be expanded to allow a four-player variant on Neo.

To what results this will lead remains to be seen and will mostly depend on what initial architecture the game targets. Another factor could probably be optimization. There are many devs who have acknowledged that the time and resources to optimize their game to meet certain objectives is not always worth the trade off. Could this result in the easy lets take the bulkier hardware and leave the base players with whatever their obsolete console can handle? There seems to be a clear list of minimal technical achievements for the Neo software but, as you point, the existence of such a safe-net for the Base PS4 is still unheard of.

Then of course there is the unmentioned VR support who de facto requires locked 60fps. What would be the point of adding it if it requires to trim down the assets to unmeaning-full remains? Reading the “rules” you could possibly remove stereoscopy and still get away with it...

The console dose nor exist sony have said nothing about it

I wish this was just an awful late April’s fool prank because if it isn’t the PS4 is likely heading to a rather schizophrenic future...
