I guess it's just a collective hallucination among developers that Sony can't be bothered to refute.
I haven't read a single statement, from an actual developer or Sony, confirming that PS4 Neo is real.
So far, it's all rumors.

It's far more than just rumour, and the devs are not just going to break NDAs, however they are all saying the same to the media and have provided access to Sony documentation.

However if it makes you happy to dismiss it as just rumour, crack on.

None of which has anything at all to do with me being a Sony beta tester, nothing at all. Nope. Zero.

The same could be argued about GT Sport seeing as we haven't heard a peep for 6 months!

! Is this an admission or hint!? ARGH!

Well the plot thickens.

http://www.gamesindustry.biz/articl...gn-wins-point-to-new-console-hardware-in-2016

If it got any thicker it would become a glue instead.

AMD boss lady says three new consoles, by 2017. PS4 "Neo", Xbox One.2, and Nintendo NX.

Might as well call them PS5, XB-2, and uh, Wii 3?

....Happy? This is as close to actual confirmation as you can get from people intimately involved with the whole console business. And before you reply and say "oh but that's not Sony nor MS thus doesn't count" click on the link first. And then read the article. In depth.

So.. where is this early 2016 beta download in my PS store exactly? Checking my calendar it's almost summer.

Why do PD time and again miss all their public deadlines?

Does PD hold the world record in gaming for not meeting its targets?

Are they really this incompetent thesedays, that they have chosen silence in the hope that the gaming world will casually forget?

I can't believe there is still such an interest in GT honestly. Bit weird to say on a GT forum of course :D, but to me this series has become a relic of the '90's.

Game still has it's charm in a way, due to the past 18 years and the fact that we all know the formula and grew up with it in many cases, but it has been long surpassed in practically every aspect when it comes to the essence of a good racing game. They have so much catching up to do its incredible.

I guess people have a thing for the car wash, and buying their cars in dealerships :P

The game has a mass appeal to casual fans that don't really care much about specifics, they just want lots of cars and tracks, easy driving etc. Only someone immersed in the genre and familiar with numerous games like you and I and many others around here, sees or cares about the flaws in GT. On top of that, for many of us, this is the game we grew up playing or that sucked us into the genre to begin with and it brings a certain nostalgia with it and nostalgia is a powerful draw. If I had a PS4/Neo even I would pick it up in spite of all it's flaws but I don't have a PS system anymore so it's a much bigger decision at this point. I'd basically only be buying the system for this game.

At least there's confirmation of the existence of Gran Turismo Sport, unlike that other game that people want to believe exists and pounce on anything that hints at it. :)

Ginza district with ps4 neo power...
Driveclub is the most impressive racing game on ps4 but reflections are sometimes disappointing. And with the closure of Evo studio, their won't be any ps4 neo mode for Driveclub. Every racing game has the Nurb, I want to see city tracks or fantasy tracks. The Nurb will always be prettier on PC.

DC is the only racing game to have self reflections, so I'd say it's a cut above the rest, maybe it can be done on the Neo at 60 fps, but definitely not on PS4/Xbone.

I was playing GT2 in a friend's PS3(emulator) and wow!
All the memorys of my childhood, in that time games are hard to buy so we must go to something like a video games lan house, and pay to play per hour.
Every single race finished me and my friends watched the replay mesmerized with the grafics.

Im all for this Neo coming out but what i hope Sony does not do is release screens of GT Sport then when PS4 owners get the game it looks nothing like what they have shown due to it being Neo screens.

I asked Nismo TV if the GT Academy will be on PS3 or PS4
from Nismo TV
"for now PS3, but PS4 plans are underway"

when is the start?
"news on that front soon"

GT Sport beta = GT Academy on PS4? yes,no or maybe?
"still TBC"
"But we would love to see GTA on PS4 at some point in the future"

I really despise everything about the idea of the PS NEO. I hope PD is too far into the development of GT Sport to move away from making the game for the PS4.

...:odd:

Uh....

Okay, so. I'm guessing you were trying to say, you hope PDI sticks to making GT:S for the PS4. Because if I'm wrong, that post makes it sound like you don't want to see the next GT title until PS5 or something...

So far, leaks indicate games for PS4 NEO will work with your vanilla PS4. So GT:S will presumably do the same.

The fear however, is that knowing PDI, playing on the base console might not offer the most smoothest of the gaming experiences....

Why? It is going to be like a slim revision, expect for the fact fabrication processes have slimmed down to 14nm! So they can put far more power into revised consoles for the same price! If you have an original PS4 you get the same games you always would have, but if you want a revised model you can have that too! If it is a question of 'I don't want other People to have something better than me' well I dunno what to say to you? I cant wait for 1080p 60fps goodness with a few bells and whistles!

If correct then this is 100% pure fail from PD. GT6 is a dead game, no disrespect intended for anyone still playing, but we all know this is true. But this would put massive weight behind the words of the French journalist who visited PD in January. Saying that PD are so far behind that he didn't expect it to be ready by Xmas '16.

Logically speaking we can assume that what was supposed to happen was this -

"GT Sport Beta available to download March 2016, would've included GT Academy 2016."

But from that confirmation that GT Academy will be on PS3 it shows once again how PD cannot work to its own deadlines. They don't have a beta for the PS4 ready, so that only leaves PS3 as the only option.

I'm, quite frankly, appalled by that. And once again it confirms that Kaz has no idea what he's doing, how badly their lackadaisical approach to deadline keeping harms their own fanbase, and ultimately, how much of a joke they look when compared to other game companies, who can actually be bothered to communicate once in a while with the people who want to buy their products.
