Completely reasonable and I applaud them for that based on their failed promises of the past but why they're not publicly stating this and instead just relaying it to one person privately I don't understand.
It also brings up the question, what does this mean for the beta? Are we likely to see a beta before they can 100% guarantee what they want to deliver?

The fastest italian at GT Academy European Race Camp shared an e-mail on his Facebook account. He told me that more italian finalists were invited too. If it's true, it means that I'm going to receive the same e-mail... I will wait and if I receive something I'll share with all of you.
Thanks. Will leave that on the back burner until we have better confirmation however.

That's cool. Personally what I believe is most likely to happen is that BETA goes live for everyone on PSN and you guys fly to London to test it there. (perhaps few days earlier)

That I can not answer. Probably piggybacks off of their past actions and reinforces the idea that social media and public relations aren't their best talents. I doubt there's much more to it than that.

Alrighty, this should be fun.

Let's start with this:

I like PD mindset, because it fits with my thinking how racing game should be.
Can you explain this?
I have nothing to explain. Play GT and you will understand! so simple! 👍

@RACECAR simply asked for clarification. "Play the game" isn't really an answer: if it was, we'd all be in utter agreement. About everything, ever. It's why I made reference to a certain Opinions & Current Event thread: stating something roughly equivalent to "do this thing and you'll reach the same conclusion" simply does not work with subjective topics.

Imagine Greatbee's post (and general statement) with literally any other game standing in for GT. Why stop there – replace "play GT" with "eat apples" or "run a marathon". I love me some salmon, but if someone asks me why I like it, "try it and you'll understand" tells them precisely zip.

Its about that when someone's stating that he likes GT and everybody's telling him that its wrong to do so because this and that is sooo wrong in GT and sooo superior in other games. Then he should explain what he likes about GT and on and on.

This isn't the first time you've made this claim, so let's just look at the exchange I've started this post off with.

Now, point to the part of the post the bad old @RACECAR told him he was wrong.

No it isnt, there is more to divide than black and white.
(But i wonder if other games are criticised for not having realistic light polution too. The same with damage, everybody blames GT for not having a proper damage model and the exact same guys are hyping assetto corsa for being the best sim out there - which doesnt have a proper damage model either...
....btw PCars and Dirt Rally's damage model isnt good too...)

"Exact same guys"? Shouldn't be too hard to dig up if that's the case.

Why do you repeatedly take this so personally? It's obvious you do considering the mention of PCARS and Dirt Rally at the end there. Do you hope that fans of those titles will take a similar, personal offence to these comments? It's all very bizarre, especially from someone who is complaining that the GT Sport section should exclusively be about GT Sport.

It's also been mentioned before, but "this other game also does X feature poorly" is a horrible excuse for a feature to be developed poorly in the subject title! I don't think you'll find many arguing that a poor damage model is acceptable in all titles other than GT.

To me it looks like its a bit different on the diverse forums.

For example:

PCars forum about FPS drops: "yep its an issue and I really hope they patch /etc it for the next version"

vs

GT forum about FPS drops: "lazy PD cant even get a stable 60 fps whereas T10 manages it on weaker hardware - PD really suck at programming, always want to push the hardware beyond its limits and end up with a ****ed up game, its KAZ that is to blame for that, Codemasters do their games at 720p with around 30 fps, thats way better, they know how to program, the same with PCars, the framerate is way more stable. And yeah, the sound of GT is soooo bad, all those vacuum cleaners, OMG KAZ really have to retire, GT6 is the exact same game as GT1, there is not one difference!!! And standard cars, puh, how can they still use car models from GT3?!!! I mean, i play the game from bumper view but that doenst change the fact that i always have in mind when i would take my time to look at the lazy ass standard cars in photomode i would see all those ugly jaggies. And hey, 2D trees? C'mon PD, get your game right maaan. Oh and yeah, the top speed physics are soooo wrong, cant even play the game anymore knowing that some cars are way faster on the 10km long straight at the test track. And 1200 cars? HA! Thats a lie! Without the duplicates it are just around 800 or so original one - pff ridiculous!! And not to forget: All the other games are way better, since generations, i quitted playing GT years ago because its such bad (but somehow still write in the dedicated GT section every day :dopey:)!!!!!"

You see the difference? At least thats how the difference seem to me!

I see a difference: you are literally blowing things out of proportion. I'm not sure if it's a language barrier issue or something else (it very well could be), but you can't seem to separate criticism from "hate".

Back on topic; Any news updates?

"Soon".

:)

Quite agree, its an area that a lot of on-line racing titles need to work on, as I've found it difficult to find good lobbies in both GT and PCars. Back when I used to play FM4 that did have some quite nice net-code and match-making for quick races that worked well and was mainly clean.

Have you been able to play online on Forza 6? From the many videos I've been watching, seems like it the public lobbies are just an endless game of bumper cars.

Just a quick question? How many posters actually own a PS4?

I've got one, got it in back in June (Probably because my family felt bad about how terrible my luck was trying to win that Taco Bell Contest  )

I look at it this way,no news,is good news.
Everyone should go play their favorite game and relax. When Sony and PD are ready, you'll get your game. For all the people without a PS4,pinch your pennies.

Well, that could go either way actually. No news can also mean bad news and in a industry where communication is a must and is instant, silence doesn't usually mean anything good unless specified otherwise.

The fastest italian at GT Academy European Race Camp shared an e-mail on his Facebook account. He told me that more italian finalists were invited too. If it's true, it means that I'm going to receive the same e-mail... I will wait and if I receive something I'll share with all of you.

Interesting development there, I await further news on this.

I will preface this post by saying this is likely not a reliable source and it is only a "rumor" possibly made up by some random person to hype the game on purpose so people get disappointed.

http://www.dayherald.com/gran-turis...could-be-the-reason-behind-the-delay/12555/2/

In this article there is a rumor stated that GT7 will have an engine creator for cars so you can make your own engine. I am highly doubtful that this is true but it would certainly be an interesting feature to have if it does indeed exist.

I feel it would be quite nice to properly size and develop an engine for any given car. Of course many of the more casual users who aren't on this forum would use it to make tiny cars have ridiculous engines, but done properly this feature could do brilliant things for series and league racing.

Posted here because everything GT7 turned into GT Sport when Sport was announced.

www.dayherald.com is a pure clickbait website. They have posted articles about GT6 or so loads of times, but slightly different written and with different headlines.

I can smell the BS radiating through my computer screen.

So assuming this is true, I would expect a semi-private launch event/beta late this month and then the beta launched to the public early June, just in time or to coincide with E3.

That is not a problem of Forza, but of racing games in general on consoles(although I'd bet money that Pcars has weeded out a lot of the players casual or otherwise from the sheer frustration of the game.)

I can find good lobbies, and I can find bad lobbies. The thing about it is that GT has specific user created lobbies that one can select from and can usually find a good match of people. They also have much better vote to kick/kick system. If all you have available is a quick match option, that is bound to happen.

Nah, it's dribble. Also, developing an engine from scratch isn't completely new. Automation has been doing it for some time, although it's still only in early access.

Apparently it will be held an event at London later this month for people test a BETA version of GT Sport.
I'm afraid it is invitational...
Thought it might be an event in UK going by what the PDI person on Facebook said. Wonder if it will be at the The O2 Arena Nissan Innovation Station and if @Famine is going to it.

I have that, it's great and all but developing the engine and then driving it in a car isn't something players can actually do yet. I think I heard somewhere they're working on it but it's going to take them quite a while to do since I think they're only a 2 or 3(?) person team.

Correct, they're a tiny dev team and it's taken them years to get this far. I doubt that Polyphony would or could devote enough people to be able to properly develop that sort of feature, even if they wanted to. Maybe they could buy out Automation, but Polyphony have historically wanted to develop all their own stuff.

I very well can seperate hate from from criticism, its rather the otherway - that some guys seem to fuse their criticism with a healthy portion of ,,hate''!

And when @Greatbee writes that he likes PDs mindset because it fits with his imagination how a racing game should be - why does this seem so outlandish so that he sould explain it?
Should he say that he likes the range of cars just to be told afterwards that most are standards and how many duplicates there are?
Or that he likes the GT mode just to be answered that other games does have a much better carreer mode with better AI?
Or maybe the graphics? I mean, it only runs between 25 and 50 frames, other games do a much better job!

Look, he just likes it how it is and i am sure he knows already whats "so bad" in GT from reading this forums.

If he would've stated what he thinks is good in GT i am 100% sure similar statements as i stated above would have been brought up, as always!
One just can like GT here, one has to explain it and one has to be teached how wrong the own view is because you know, GT6 is such an incomplete fail.

You'll surely have no problem providing the examples that Zlork proved incapable of finding, then.

I do indeed have a problem searching loads of pages for quotes - as i wont waste my time with that - everybody can look for themself and will surely find a good amount of such posts.

So you are apparently perfectly capable of separating hate from criticism (which is a bit of a tenuous claim considering your posting history, but we'll sidestep that), but you can't actually show any examples to that effect even though there are a "good amount" of them to choose from that are apparently so easy to find that anyone can do it. Gotcha.

Hey, i lay in my bed right now, beneath my wife, and we are watching TV. I am at home since about 3 hours, i used two and a half hours of that time with my 22 month old son and will spend the rest of the day (its 21:44 o'clock here) rather with my lovely wife than searching on my mobile phone for the posts you are looking for.

It's very difficult to know what to say to you ron86. You protest so much yet when pressed claim 'life is too short' to expand on your protests. There's actually been some pretty decent discussion in the past couple of pages with a few snippets of possible news yet in you come and rather focus on that you'd rather continue the 'you're all haters' vibe you have going.
