5 new Pages in GRSport Thread since yesterday evening
Excited

...

Nothing new

...

Feels bad man
The ironic thing is the last few pages are only so busy because a handful of users are determined to moan about something they can't or won't prove even existed beforehand in the thread. It takes two to tango and you wouldn't have people defending their right to post if others weren't moaning they're not happy with something they continually claim is always going on.

Look back, it always starts by someone in some way or another telling others to stop criticising following a discussion. Not by someone just strolling in and criticising for no reason, or shutting down someone merely for saying they like the game,as they claim is happening. Quite the opposite, really.

Let's hope we get some answers in the next couple of weeks. So many questions buzzing round my head. I do hope GTS is a return to form, it's a franchise that deserves to be top of the tree but that doesn't happen on name alone. If it is a return to form then even a few cars on a couple of tracks in a beta will be a joy to behold.

I've certainly got more hope with GTS than if it was just GT7, because it gives confidence they are at least going to TRY to do something different, away from the same old formula we've seen since GT1. Whether it'll work, well that's what we're going to find out.

AI is surely important moving forward for those for prefer to drive offline and for the career. However to claim CPU controlled bots programmed by any studio are actually more satisfying, I'm afraid is almost unfortunate you believe that. Especially when you're saying this about PCars which has been flamed for it's way too aggressive AI.

Real minds with proper racing etiquette using trickery and skill to make passes and the honesty of small mistakes can simply not just be programmed IMO, and even with a clean and hard AI it's just not the same knowing it's not a real person you're driving against. I could never go back.

I think you haven't tried it yourself by your words, it's no way close to perfect, but i'm not joking when i say that it's really good, and if you race it respecting it like you do with humans you'll ALWAYS get a better race than jumping in a random gt6 room, or using the quick race option.

That alone is the reason i play PCars online, because i have a group of guys that are better than the average random guys :D

In any case i invite you to set ai at 80-85 and take a good gt3 run for a 1 hour race in PCars and then tell me what you think about it.

Please someone create a "constructive criticism" thread! That should solve the problem hahaha
Like the "Whining and Crying" thread back in GT6? Yeah that place didn't solve much during GT6's time cause you still got attacked by certain whiteknights, even though some people gaved out some constructive criticism towards the game. It's dead now but I guarantee you that when GTS comes out, it sadly won't be any different from that thread.

What's interesting is that right now we have:
- Some really high quality sims on PS4 (particularly DiRT Rally, pCARS, SLRE, Assetto Corsa coming soon) plus Driveclub
- The broadest and best selection of sims ever on PC (AC, rF2, AMS, R3E, iRacing, pCARS, DR, SLRE, etc...)

This site has exploded into a wealth of discussions outside of purely Gran Turismo, and rightly so. The Gran Turismo community is in a luxury position of being able to wait for GTS without much pain. I'm sure all of us regulars are going to buy GTS no matter what, because it certainly will offer things no other sim can, but I am perfectly happy to wait it out. Plenty of other things to do in the meantime.

It's a never ending circle. Only PD could stop it. But TheKaz is eating popcorn and watching us, as we're silly dogs tryin to bite our own tails.

Meanwhile Gt Sport is complete since January

Ditto.

Yea these are interesting times for me. I've been largely unable to enjoy any non-GT racing game since my first contact in 1998, barreling off into the sand at Grand Valley T1. The exception was Dirt 2, which was more of a supplement to GT5's dreadful rally component.

Once GT Sport finally arrives I don't think I will abandon pcars. I'll definitely keep coming back to Dirt Rally. My hopes are probably way too high for GTS (as usual) but I doubt they can screw it up enough for me not to settle into it as my primary game. I'm too accustomed to GT at this point.

That's why arguments get so passionate around here.. some people have GT in their genetic makeup at this point, others do not and they baffle each other.

It's a perfect opportunity for them to cut the ties to the past. A smaller game of the highest quality. It'll keep us all happy for a while giving them time to ensure GT7 is the game GT has deserved to be for such a long time.

Could not agree more.

I look at it this way,no news,is good news.
Everyone should go play their favorite game and relax. When Sony and PD are ready, you'll get your game. For all the people without a PS4,pinch your pennies.

Unfortunately, I do not share the mindset that no news is good news, as it is more often than not the opposite of that. However, the problems plaguing this game, and that have plagued it's games in the past did not stop me from enjoying any other games.

Just a quick question? How many posters actually own a PS4?
I don't. My only reason for buying one would be this game, everything else I want or need is on pc. But if the game is good enough, I've made the transition to a wheel supported by the PSNeo, and the online community is worth it, I'd get the system and the game.

Regarding the lack of news on the new game, Polyphony's Facebook-monitoring intern/employee has told me that they are intentionally not releasing anything because they can not guarantee everything they wish to say at the moment, fearing a repeat of the backlash they received beforehand. Reliable source or not is up to the individual.

Me personally I think that PD are diligently working and taking their time with this game, and making sure that they don't step anywhere they shouldn't with the news they do (or don't) share. If that means they they keep quiet and have all hands on deck working on the game itself than sharing information, then so be it. I'd like to have news just as much as anyone here, but I can give them the benefit of a doubt that they are working and they are doing the best they can possibly do with the resources at hand.

PS4 wise, I don't own one. Every penny I'm pinching is going towards a vehicle I can drive to school and the tuition and fees themselves. As much as I'd like to simply start playing the current generation of games, it's not that simple. I will, however, be purchasing a PS4 when the time is right and I have the funds necessary to do so. If you know me you know that I don't even have a wheel for my PS3 because I'm so financially restricted.

Thanks for that. Strange that this is the first time they have said such a thing when previously they have been all 'we'll give you the info soon, next month etc. Why suddenly giving a reason for the lack of info.

Completely reasonable and I applaud them for that based on their failed promises of the past but why they're not publicly stating this and instead just relaying it to one person privately I don't understand.
