Sorry I just need to say this

Atelophobia is the fear of not being good enough or imperfection. Atelophobia is classified as an anxiety disorder that can affect relationships and makes the afflicted person feel like everything is done are wrong. The term comes from the Greek: ατελήςatelès, meaning "imperfect" or "incomplete" and φόβος, phóbos, "fear".

Symptoms
Symptoms of atelophobia can be mental, emotional, and physical. The severity of the symptoms varies, but because atelophobia is a mental illness, problems are created in the mind and the body reacts with physical symptoms such as sweating.

Wat.

Maybe GT did affect my love life.

What I find surprising is that some of the most active members here are also the most critical toward GT. The last GTs have a lot of flaws but some members are always negative in every situation. And it doesn't help to have a good atmosphere in this thread.
(everybody here like/liked GT)

It's okay to be critical, there is nothing wrong with that at all. If you had a bad experience with the last game as I did to some degree myself I think it is justifiable. I think I played GT6 the least amount of time of any car game I bought on PS3, 360 or PS4 and I bought DIRT Showdown! But to state it every single day and time and time again and, as you stated, in every situation is something I cannot get my head around. It is incomprehensible to me that certain people would sink so much of their own time into talking about a game they have very little hope for. If I had that much angst towards a franchise or developer I certainly wouldn't be wasting any time telling people, again and again, day after day, it just does not make sense to me.

To be honest I already walked away from this section but came back for Zizou. So I thought I'd keep it on topic with that rant... Here's the real reason...

What a goal that was! One of the few goals I have genuinely jumped out of my seat to cheer that was not scored by a Liverpool player. To me Messi is undeniably the best of my lifetime, but Zidane is the best I have ever seen live. Therefore Zidane is the best player ever (I'm never going to a Barca game until he's past his prime)

And I will say this too.. Always will be something that in not good enough! please show me some game which is pure perfection?? I can bet, that it will never be! In GT case I love how it is, and I enjoy it like no other racing game. So simple! And I know that I'm not the only who thinks the same. Period!
And now continue to slap me! ;)

Thanks. I'm well aware that I have mental health problems and I am undergoing appropriate treatment, but it's very kind of you to be so concerned that you felt that you needed to inform me about my affliction in case I didn't know already. Odd that you'd think that you'd know me better than I do myself even though you've only ever "met" me in text over the internet, but I guess you think highly of yourself.

That, or you were just trying to be an arse and didn't consider that the person that you were talking to might actually have that condition. And hey, it might not be that helpful for random Joe from the internet to be giving me 🤬 about it.

Not that it particularly matters, a lot of completely normal people are more comfortable building up skills in a controlled environment before jumping in the deep end. In fact, that's pretty much an accepted teaching method. It's very helpful for people to learn skills one at a time in a stress free situation and develop familiarity before attempting to put them all together in a live situation, even if someone were such a douche that they didn't care at all for the quality of other people's play experiences.

But carry on with the cheap zingers. You're doing great.

No one has claimed that any other title is perfect and no one has taken issue with your personal preference.

Issue was taken with you stating fact as opinion and then insulting people.

I just want to stop this war, it looks so silly, haters gonna hate, and lovers gonna love! Next!

War? Really? Maybe there is a clever PR pitch for "Captain America: Civil War" somewhere in there that I missed (In which case, clever timing, very topical).

You again can't seem to distinguish wanting something to be much better from "Perfection". Also, I wouldn't be so eager to continue with that attitude in real life. Should you invite trouble in the same instigating and insulting matter you show here, I'm certain someone will do more then "Slap" you.

Many pages off topic, but I've read them. I agree this forum is mostly from people anti GT (if some believe this can be justified with some imagination using "Oh but they only hope that it becomes better in the future", no that does not work). And so, I suggest to GT fans not to frequent this forum, otherwise they will feel alienated by the users there. I only come myself here for news and I am not a die hard GT fan, It is just a shame Gt fans do not have their place and optimism has no room and is always being questioned. I obviously do not condone use of insults, but I understand the feeling of the GT fans there.
Another advice; maybe you will find people enjoying GT on the GT6 online threads and talk there.

One can be a fan of gaming and not necessarily like all games. Likewise, one can be a fan of Gran Turismo and not necessarily be a fan of all the Gran Turismo games (say, the most recent ones).

For myself, I don't feel alienated at all. I find there to be interesting discussions and opinions here. The only ones that seem alienated are the ones who need others to reinforce their own opinions, and seem disappointed when there aren't as many people who feel the same as they might have thought.

To which I would say be comfortable with your own opinion, and don't view everyone who disagrees as an enemy. The most enlightening discussions are between those that do not share similar views.

Yes, mindset is definately more positive on GT6 online threads, if you come here you will just get wrecked by people who think GT has gone down the drain.

Anti GT? Seriously, do you think this forum/thread is full of GT haters? Because if so, you are very, very wrong. Here, let my quote my old post for you:
@ron86, let me tell you something about this place we call GTPlanet. When you first visit this website, you expect to find fans of Gran Turismo, who wouldn't? So then you enter the forums and end up clicking on a thread like this. The first thing that might stick out is the large amount of negativity about the game. This is a GT fan-site though, is it not? Well yes, it is. Many people grew up with the name "Gran Turismo" in their heads and here we are, nearly 20 years since the launch of the first game. In recent years though, the series hasn't really lived up to its name. Understandably and with good reason, people are concerned and frustrated. But here's the thing: no one, not even those who post the criticism you commonly view on this website, wants to see the series die and become a thing of the past. GT is something we all love in some shape or form, no matter how critical posts on the internet may seem.

Thank goodness you came along!

I've clearly actually had no idea why I was posting and its nice to have my clearly inaccurate mind put in its place.

I think we, the fans, have the right to discuss GT in any subject, any section without attack and without reading insults to PoDi.

For the rest, I totally agree with you.

Haters don't see in what condition the forum is, because they are the ones who put it in this state.

I wondered why members like Amar are gone? Now I know why. And it makes me sad.

I keep seeing this posted, as if the people posting it are trying to hold any truth to that. Essentially, you want to get that, but in return, you want to silence anyone else that follows this method as well that just happen to be at the opposite side of the spectrum.

I hate PCARS, but I don't come on this section saying you're crazy to enjoy it or insulting SMS.

Today, fans seem to want to express their dissatisfaction. This is proof that the ambiance in sections GT is really deplorable.

Neither are the ones that have continuously been discussing, the ones that have been more vocal in this thread. However, there is no reason why someone should be stopping you from discussing your dislike towards a game in the first place, if you wanted to. Sure, you'll encounter the jerks, but that is hardly what's going on here.

You're making it seem like GT is the only game that gets this kind of reception when universally many games and/or game devs go through this.

And how frequent are those?

Let's narrow the scope a bit to help:
Say, in the last ten pages, which only extend to about Thursday night and which you've been a frequent contributor to, how many people have outright insulted PD?

It's clear that some people still don't get the notion that the biggest fans can also be the biggest critics.

We WANT Gran Turismo to be great again. We want it to recapture it's glory days. That's why some of us have been so vocal about the flaws in GT6.

It's no longer the all conquering force in the racing sim genre that it once was, especially with more competition than ever before.

In this age where communication with consumers is more important than ever, PD's total silence on their newest game is just one of a multitude of reasons people are switching sides.

Insult, denigrate, degrade, etc.

And don't say that the frequency is low, it would be a lie.
The frequency is low. The ones posting insults are far and few inbetween, however, the ones in that have been disagreeing with things may be frequent. Don't get the two mixed up.

No, I asked you to find examples. You've been posting almost as frequently in this thread since you came back as the people you and ron86 and GreatBee and etc. are implying should go screw off somewhere else. It shouldn't be difficult, if people "Insult, denigrate, degrade" PD on such a regular basis that it actively hurts the ambiance of this forum, to show it happening like you keep claiming when you've been posting in the thread it is supposedly happening the most in.

Only, we do not repeat all the time, we respect the team Podi, we remain calm, we do not ask others to justify why he loves GT, etc.
The only time I've seen people ask for things to be justified is when a situation is proclaimed as fact, with absurdly wrong information, intentional or not.

The only hypocrisy I've seen so far is wanting the freedom for people to post what they like, but only when its agreeing with what the poster has said.

I hate PCARS, but I don't come on this section saying you're crazy to enjoy it or insulting SMS.
And that's the difference. None of us genuinely hates Gran Turismo, hence why your contribution to the pCARS forums would be zero. Neither do we think or say people who enjoy the latest installments are crazy, as you seem to suggest.

There are thousands example. But I do not have time for this.
You do realize that you'll need them to back up your claim, unless you're clearly making things up.

Well this is a thing I'm immune to since I do not race AI. I always wondered when anyone who actually is a great driver would waste time with any game's AI. Yes, PD should do something about that.

By GTP alien's standards i'm a mid group racer, and to be honest AI is project cars is so good all around that i wouldn't be racing online anymore at all if it wasn't for the small great group of friends i made up in the years.

Ah I see.

Now anyone who may have a critical point to raise about GT has a mental disorder.

Now not only is mental illness not a laughing matter, but blanket insults will not see your membership last long.

Having had a wife (now ex) with mental illness issues, i find it a very sensitive spot to me. I'm very well aware that people that have never lived with one with such problems can't understand the sadness, and difficulties of those afflicted and those that try to help them or in the worst cases just to cope with their issues.

So please let's keep that out.

@Imari i would love to have you in my PCars serie, you'll feel better in our group whipping mine and other driver's asses :D ;) seriously talking i feel you, my mind is rock solid (else i would have gone nuts with my ex wife) but as many i get my lows and highs, but after my experiences i get to understand these issues and i feel them on my skin.
