Yes. But I was talking about conference when Kaz will unveil new information, trailers, etc.

Jordan said the conference isn't being broadcast live, rather an edit (including the trailer) will be shown at 6:45PM. He did say he'll update with news from the conference but I get the feeling it will be under NDA until the stream goes out later on.

As far as I know right now, the press conference itself will not be streamed by PlayStation as it is happening - an edit will be shown a few hours later, immediately before the competition broadcasts begin. I will be co-hosting the official live stream and we'll review everything that is announced.

Having said that, I will be sharing news from the press conference live via GTPlanet, so you'll have all the news the minute that it's released.

Someone (VG247) did record the entire Silverstone conference in 2013 so someone may do it again and we'll be able to see it all later.

That is the program of the 19th it seems:
The evening will look something like this:

  • 6.45pm BST – 7.00pm BST: Run down of the day’s events, news and a showcase of the brand new GT SPORT trailer
  • 7.00pm BST – 8.30pm BST: Nations Cup Pre-Season Test and the Manufacturer Fan Cup Pre-Season Test of the FIA Gran Turismo Championships:
    • The Manufacturer Fan Cup Pre-Season Test
    • The Nations Cup Pre-Season Test
  • 8.30pm BST – 9.00pm BST: Trophy ceremonies (1st, 2nd and 3rd place for each cup)

Unless you are talking about a session that isn't part of the official program?

Yeah I mean we don't know what time the press conference will actually happen, I would guess early afternoon and then as Jordan says at 6:45 we'll see 15 minute highlights of that, including the trailer. Probably the official site will be updated around that time as well, with the trailer and information.

I don't know why they wouldn't want to livestream the conference as it happens but probably it's not planned to be in a broadcast friendly format, or they want to inform the press on the game but keep some aspects private.

That's it!

Is that soon as how we understand it, or is it:
A. Soon™?
B. Right soon?
C. Very soon?
D. Gran Turismo: The Real Sooning Simulator?
E. An indeterminate time in the future, possibly tomorrow or two years after the date of the post?
F. Never?

Either way, I'm excited! :gtpflag:
I'd say E mixed with A. Unfortunately it all depends on Kaz. So my hope for it happening soon and excitement is shared with you ;) but in all seriousness this is really awesome.

Just want to make sure I got this right, I don't have time to read 70 pages:
Still nothing besides a date where they will talk about the game some more?

Doesn't sound overly promising to me.

Well, apart from the public access to the game over the next couple of weeks, a good hour and a bit of actual, live streamed gameplay from good drivers (rather than unrepresentative CGI trailers alone - although there will be one of those, and hopefully a lot of shakycam footage too - but at least we'll be getting some decent live footage too). Oh, and the Q&A session. Not sure what's "not overly promising" about two and a quarter hours of official GT related news, trailers, gameplay, presentations, and streaming, and a day of beta access for fans...

Actually, on this note of Vision Gran Turismo cars, I'll be interested to see exactly how they're integrated into GT Sport. Since it's a game purportedly focussing on motorsports (hence the good amount of FIA GT3 cars in the first trailer), where will there be room for fictional cars? Fictional cars with a vast gulf in performance between the lower-end MINI Clubman and the LMP1-esque Mazda LM55, as well...

I know Project CARS features some fictional cars, but they're designed to be realistic, plausible, and balanced with the disciplines of motorsport they were created for, like the Marek LMP1/LMP2 cars, the karts, the Caper Monterey stock car... the Vision Gran Turismo cars certainly don't seem to be correspond with any real world regulations, and some of them are so insanely fast they aren't remotely feasible as cars at all, let alone cars designed to fit in with real-world racing.

Could it be that every normal or vision car will have the possibillity to change to an RM version. FIA helped designing the different catégories. Séries in GT will consist of reallife and fantasy series but all with FIA designed régulations. With this you could have a FIA Vision GT championship for example. Once the RM is applied the several choices of liveries will be available.

Just a thought on my part.

For GT6, @Jordan was able to share us infos if my memory is good :)
Yes of course, I just mean the few hours between the conference happening and the highlights stream he may be limited in what he can say. As I say on the day of the GT6 event they couldn't say anything until I think 5pm, when the info was made public and the media embargo lifted.

In short, don't expect much on the 19th until the stream has started. After that the floodgates should open.

The ZR1 was BoP'd. However, that car looks similar to the real thing. A 2020 GT-R on a GT3 grid? Probably not. Though, the Sin and X-BOW GT cars do exist on Blancpain GT4 grids.

Not mixing up the classes. GT3 if licensed only can have official licensed cars. The Vision GT RM cars could be in a fantasy FIA Vision GT class. Really hope PD has addressed the issue of mixing up cars from several groups and classes and are going to make proper racing series with models that match.

It always troubled me that GT games have generally had such massive car lists, but the games themselves are oddly unable to use that car list to provide some balanced racing of a certain class of car. Like for instance, I've been playing through GTPSP again whilst on the train to work or whatever, and I've noticed some slightly crazy grids. I select the ARTA Garaiya, and it matches me up with a Lancia Delta Rally Car, a RUF CTR, and a Peugeot 205 Rally Car. Seriously - there are a decent number of GT300 cars in GTPSP. Why wouldn't the game be sensible and pit me against those, rather than a CTR that went off on the second lap in a massive spin, a Delta which trailed around in a distant third place, and a 205 which, to be fair, did put up a reasonable battle on Level S difficulty.

If Polyphony, with the help of the FIA, no less, don't have a nicely curated, well selected Premium only car list, designed to provide competitive racing in line with real world racing series, (again, with the FIA to help them do this), then they never ever will.

THIS. I've always hated this. I would love if WE could pick the grid. Down to HP and weight as well. I think we could match up an AI car better than the software can. And bring back standing starts too!

That's not all that's happening at all. It's almost like we have a news article that offers an overview of what will be going on next week...
