I am kind of square, didn't Polyphony already announce Gran Turismo Sport last year and say it would arrive as a beta in early 2016? Now they are unveiling it in a few days? When they unveil it we may have to wait many more months possibly? Ugh

Anyone else still wondering where "The Real Driving Simulator" slogan went? I haven't seen it in any of the announcements.
Because GTS is a racing platform I guess. The FIA stuffs and that.

Still not June so I guess May qualifies as early in their world

Well all I want is a good online server similar to that of COD Black Ops 3 - quick, easy, very low levels of lag and great gameplay where no one misses out on the fun. One thing I hated about GT6 was how difficult it was to find a suitable lobby with a decent connection. It sometimes took me half an hour to find one race. In COD, I can play about 6 games in an hour. That's the standard set for PD, they need to nail the online aspect or the game will fail.

It always troubled me that GT games have generally had such massive car lists, but the games themselves are oddly unable to use that car list to provide some balanced racing of a certain class of car. (snip)

If Polyphony, with the help of the FIA, no less, don't have a nicely curated, well selected Premium only car list, designed to provide competitive racing in line with real world racing series, (again, with the FIA to help them do this), then they never ever will.
This is another thing I've been harping on since the days of GT5. Race Mod aside, with the roughly thousand cars in GT7, there should be all KINDS of racing potential for matching roughly similar cars and having the game BOP/homologate them for some interesting racing. With Race Mod, and that dreaded Livery Editor, even more so. And I want to see this fleshed out with features such as an Event Maker which supports custom racing leagues, permitting all kinds of wonderfully mixed fields of competitively matched racing machines. All sorts of custom classes should be possible.

I know this is getting pretty far afield of the GT Sport subject, but I'm intending to get back into the GT7 forum and see if I can garner some more discussion and support of such matters.

They did something similar with GT6. May be they will confirm the release date but I guess E3 is more appropriate for it. I also think that the beta will be available to download for all PS4 users. Obviously they cannot do it before their event. But I guess by June we should get it.

Just before the GTS event announcement I was watching this fan made GT5 trailer montage. Very nicely done

It has been a long wait but I really hope they release at least 2mins trailer. Hopefully we will be some nice videos too. Very excited :dunce:

Trailers usually aren't indicative at all of actual gameplay graphics/audio, that's why I'm more interested to see actual footage of the demo running at the show. It's safe to assume that they will have uncompressed footage to give to the press, Gamersyde.com is a great site they usually upload great quality video and if for some reason they weren't able to capture it at it's best they let you know all the details anyway (source resolution, capture card used, codec used, etc). Hopefully they'll be attending the unveiling show.

It is just matter of time before everyone get to play the beta ;)

You probably won't have to look far from here to find high quality content from the event... :D

[ epicness ]
To some people, trailers for a racing game are disposable, but they are an advertisement and excitement inducer, the way that the over the top pre-game festivities are for a hockey game for your home team. And this one is the best fanmade trailer I've seen yet. It has me so pumped, I'm probably going to stow my music gear tomorrow and run a Mini around Deep Forest, then work my way up to the serious racers. I might feel almost as excited as Jordan right now for GT Sport.

This is what racing is all about, and what Gran Turismo might be about shortly. Sorry, soon. :D

I know this isn't Gran Tourismo related, but considering the event will feature Kaz I thought this might be significant. As you know, Kaz is part of the VLN series racing in a BMW M6 GT3. The M6 GT3 recently crashed into a Cayman GT4 during practice. I'm not sure if Kaz was driving it.

Is not the Kaz's helmet.

Guys, can we just stop messaging that GT Facebook Guy? Because we wouldn't really get any answers. It's just a waste of time IMO.

Meanwhile it's the other way around over here, as everyone been complaining about how laggy the online were.
Is it just me, or do more of you miss the shuffle races from GT5? The concept was great. Had some of the best races in my life from those shuffle races.
Why PDI even threw it out of GT6 in the first place?

While everyone are talking about the VGT and real cars, i wonder which type of circuits should we expect to see in GT Sport? Considering it's about FIA and it's focused more on the racing aspect.

Yes of course, I just mean the few hours between the conference happening and the highlights stream he may be limited in what he can say. As I say on the day of the GT6 event they couldn't say anything until I think 5pm, when the info was made public and the media embargo lifted.

In short, don't expect much on the 19th until the stream has started. After that the floodgates should open.

If @Jordan can share us some information before official stream, I would already be happy :)

Yes, they are.

You will have same textures, same color, same lighting and others you see in the trailers. AA and LOD are the only things that can change.

For audio, if they want to put forward changes, we have the same in-game. We will see.

And it was even written by Kaz!

Been a while (Last one I did being this), but it looks like its time for me to get back in the saddle ;)

We've had this discussion before, and it simply isn't true to say that. Some of the GT6 Vision GT trailers (like the Alpine, Nissan and Infiniti ones) use advanced weather effects that don't exist in GT6 and aren't even possible on the PS3. The Alpine trailer features volumetric clouds and lighting. The Infiniti trailer features a quite amazing thunderstorm with lighting flashes and massively improved rainfall. The Nissan one features a foggy, cloudy Nurburgring that isn't possible to see in-game. Those trailers, ostensibly for a PS3 game, have visual effects on par with the astonishing Driveclub more than anything. Maybe they offer a glimpse of what we can expect on PS4, but there's no way you'll be getting those sorts of graphical effects on your copy of GT6. No-one will.

I was talking about classic trailers. No trailers where PoDi likes to add effects like thunderstorms ;)

But, we will not repeat debate. Anyway, we will know everything thursday

I must say. . Im getting really excited their calling it an unveiling! Almost like their going to blow our mind as that reveal trailer at PGW was nothing at all!

Ive been a fan of GT since the very first but what blew my mind was the hype for GT3. . Thats what Im expecting now!
I remember watching tv and the PS2 had just got to my country, then. . . during an ad break. . . . I see what looks like Special Stage Route 5. . . . but its wet!!! Just then the red Viper GTSR Team Oreca appears !! And it starts speeding around the track! Mist, Water kicking of the road, my mind was blown, the gorgeous lights flickering in the dark.Feeders Just A Day slamming all the way through! My mind melted, blown, as I took it all in.

I was convinced . . . that was photorealism!
Dear PD. . .
Blow my mind again.
